Should You Buy Maw Spuckler?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

So something EA’s been slowly rolling out over the last year or so is this new bonus for actually spending cash on donuts. (instead of just farming them)  Where they attach a premium, limited-time, character to one of the donut bundles in addition to bonus donuts.

This time around we’re being offered Maw Spucker,  a FULL character, for a truckload of 300 Donuts ($19.99 in the US).  While it’s hard for me to sit here and tell you if you should or shouldn’t spend actual cash on the game (spoiler, I think you should always spend at least a small amount…even if it’s $.99/year on the game if it brings you joy and you want to see it continue) I thought I’d do a quick breakdown of Maw, her tasks and other details you may be curious about.

So let’s consider this an abbreviated Should I Buy….

So what is the deal?  When you can find it in the Currency Tab of your Store (also by hitting Get More)…

Basically spend $19.99 on a Truckload of 300 donuts and get Maw Spuckler.

And yes, for those outside of the US I know my price is probably lower than yours.  EA only charges 19.99 USD for this package…anything over that that you are currently paying goes to Google/Apple/Amazon for Tax and Duty etc.  EA only collects the 19.99.

So, personally, I think this isn’t an awful deal (although there have certainly been better ones).

So here’s a breakdown on Maw….

-She is NOT voiced
-Comes with a complete set of tasks
-Comes with a questline
-Some fun visual/animated tasks
-Will not Staff rides, or earn any event currency

Here’s a look at her task list

Maw Spuckler’s Permanent Tasks…

Spend a Fortune on a Vacation 4hrs $260, 70xp Outside/Visual

Eat a Five-Course Meal 12hrs $600, 150xp Outside/Visual at Dumpster
Roll Call the Grandbabies 24hrs $1000, 225xp Cletus’ Farm

And here’s the Turbo Tappin’ version of her questline…

That’s pretty much it on Maw Spuckler.  A fun little character and a nice bonus when buying the truck load of donuts from the store!  And if you’re willing to drop the cash… I think it’s worth it.

What are your thoughts on Maw Spuckler?  Have you purchased her?  Will you purchase her? Thoughts on her questline and tasks?  Sound off below you know we love hearing from you!

  1. I bought her because I love The Simpsons, don’t mind supporting the game, and am a completionist, but I think there definitely could have been more value. It seems a little lame that for real money, she doesn’t come with a building or decoration AND has just the standard 5 part questline. Lots of free characters have more to do when they come to your town; Ruth Powers had a side questline with Jimbo. That is the kind of stuff I want to see. She should have had like a 20 part quest (one part per dollar) or a full quest involving other characters for every $5 spent. EA literally did the bare minimum with her, not even bonus donuts. If I’m paying $20 in real money, EA should be doing enough to make me glad I did it and not just feeling like it is a money grab.

  2. Maw Spuckler

Gosh darn it! EA offered up another quality Springfield Character, but delivered it half 🐴 – again! I’d rather have a Character voiced if it’s not contributing to earning Event Currency (or earn Event Currency at Premium rate if not voiced).

A freebie for buying Donuts has to be better then this, right? 🤷‍♂️

  3. In Australia, she costs $30.99 – damn it! Rather than being able to buy a $30 iTunes credit, I need to buy 2x$20 to cover the extra .99c – so her real cost for now is $40Australian – some Nintendo Switch games sell for $40! I want to support the game and have purchased the previous ones with real cash – but $40 makes it tough for a single character.

  4. I can’t buy donuts! My email is my yahoo one, and then they ask for my Google password, which doesn’t match my yahoo address. I changed both passwords to be the same, but it still doesn’t work. I called EA and they were no help. I used to log into TSTO on my Kindle, but it has worse lag issues than TSTO! Any advice? Wish I was smart enough to figure out KEM farming. (Yeah, I even read the post about it)

  5. I’m a little sad I bought her after I bought scratchy…. if only I waited one day I wouldn’t have spent 40$ for the two 😭 (probably would’ve still spent the 40 because this event is so fun)

    • Not trying to rub it in…but you REALLY need to read the posts. We talked about this two weeks ago……….

But, yes…Maw was exorbitantly priced for a Hillbilly.

  6. In relation to spending real money, should we mention the awful way tha our game keeps crumbling on us? At least my 4 towns are affected (fallen down one by one).
    1) The glitch kick me out of the game and doesn’t let me to log back in. It says “error” and “contact support” or “try again”. Deleting and re-installing helps, but each time I re-log in to collect in my other towns, it will kick me out automatically. I have download 2 gb several times a day and wait to log in (annoying af).
    2) all my friends disappeared, in all towns, in the course of a week. I can only collect the exemplary Springfield.
    3) one game slows down dramatically after the metal recycling is assigned. Even at the fastest device it’s dragging like turtle flegma freezing on me all the way.
    4) the gliding in my main town became too slow / chopped to enjoy the game anymore. All of this is after the items from KLand were introduced into main land. And I didn’t have a warning of item limit or getting closer to item limit so far.
    5) this game started taking too much time and struggle from me, that is why I will not contact EA. If it dies, it dies. I have real life problems pressing in right now. I am playing once a day at this point, due to re-downloading of 2 gb each time for each town. I am drastically behind, but this could be the end of it all for me, who cares?
Anyone out there, having same issues or similar? Will be glad to know that I am not alone in this one.
As for Maw, I will not invest one single dollar more into this game, though over the course of playing in 3 years I invested around $100. No sir! Especially with a $20 tag attached. Search for fools somewhere else, EA!
