Should I Spend Donuts on Tina Ballerina and Itchy’s 70’s Disco?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s event time in Springfield!  With the launch of Itchy and Scratchy Land, summer can officially begin for the residents of our pocket-sized towns!  Of course, an all-new event means a new opportunity for EA to add new premium items to our stores!

As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add Tina Ballerina and Itchy’s 70’s Disco to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this funky combo to your town…

Pros
-Comes with a questline, every questline task earns event currency
-Can staff rides at Itchy and Scratchy Land
-Another item for Parent’s Island (if you’re making one)
-Tina will use the Disco and it’s animated when in use, laser light show on the front door.

Cons
-Not voiced
-Outdoor animations are basically the same
-Pricey for a one-off character/building

Final Thought
Premium:
I don’t think it’s an awful buy, and this is a premium combo I picked up.  I like it for the Disco (Tina is an added bonus).  I wanted to build out my Parent’s Island and this is a way to do it.  But it is a standard price for combos these days, and Tina will use the building. So it becomes a “if you like it, buy it” item.

Freemium:
I’d pass.  Save your donuts and pick up the cheaper Park Engineer and another building.

Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as a premium player, I’ll likely be passing.  But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Here’s a look at her tasks…

Tina Ballerina’s Permanent Tasks:

Task Length Earns Location
Try on Tutus 1hr $105, 26xp Itchy’s 70s Disco
Be the Swan 4hrs $260, 70xp* Outside/Visual
Promote Krusty 8hrs $420, 105xp* Outside/Visual
Speak Volumes Through Dance 12hrs $600, 150xp Itchy’s 70s Disco
Pirouette Like Everyone’s Watching 24hrs $1000, 225xp Itchy’s 70s Disco

*These are the payouts for when the event is over.  During the event the 4hr and 8hr tasks will pay out event currency. 4hr-  Earns 60, 25, 70xp 8hr- Earns 120, 50, 105xp

She will also have tasks to Overpay for Sex on the Beach, Try to Win At Blackjack, Drink and Babysit and Dance the Senor Burns…provided you have the buildings associated with those tasks.

What are your thoughts on Tina Ballerina and Itchy’s 70’s Disco?  Will you be spending the donuts to bring them to your Springfield? Did you already?  Why or why not?  Where have you placed it in your town?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Had me at everything, EA, but no Land Tokens? No more Buildings! Real Estate is a serious commodity in this Game App (although, there’s no doubt these Crafted Rides are probably going to be Stored, cause they take up too much space)!

  2. Question: has anyone ever received donuts from playing the balloon game in KK? I have played for years and have never received a single one but when you play it says you can receive donuts or KK tickets. Where are the donuts?

    • I have recieved donuts from the minigame a couple of times over the years. But yeah, its mostly tickets. I guess the odds for donuts are pretty low.

    • DSNecromorphUSS

I’ve gotten it twice in my entire time playing. From what I remember it’s 5 donuts for every 299 times you play. I play it just for the extra tickets and now I don’t buy flowers with money anymore. Pretty convenient.

    • Same here – played many times, and got 5 donuts twice. Now that it’s in my Springfield, I play whenever I see it’s available.

    • I once read somewhere (when Sideshow You first came out) that every 100th time you play, you get 5 donuts. If you play twice a day you’ll get 5 donuts every 50 days. That seems pretty accurate with what I’ve been getting.

    • TallSpiderCandy

I too have played for a long time and never won donuts, until one day last week…I got 5 but don’t know how or why lol. I once heard you had to play for 100 days straight or something to get them but I know I did that and never rec’d any before so just dunno. Keep playing and hopefully it will spit some out for you too : )

    • I got them a few times in the early years of Krustyland expansion. I think since Springfield Heights hit the game, they are gone in my game. But I haven’t used KL much in the last time.

    • Twice! It was very random, so please don’t expect to win Donuts right away (but please do enjoy the extra Krustyland Tickets). 👍

  3. TallSpiderCandy

Immediate buy for me because I had the donuts and can’t go wrong with dance 😎 bonus that she helps with event! Thanks EA! And thank you Addicts for all the hard work that you do!! Much appreciated!! Happy tapping everybody and have a lovely day! : )

  4. I got the building and the character. I have 18 characters collecting stuff at the main gate.

  5. oktober10aussie

New building & new female character (and a very cute female character at that). Instant buy for me.

  6. I got her for her dance moves, and I wanted the disco to place beside Stu’s.

  7. Got her. Not bad. I like the Disco. Now we have two in our towns. Three if you count the Steel Mill at night

Anyway. Not sure if this has been touched on or if y’all know. But will buyable land be coming back?

Seems like this free token thing might just be temporary as they had been planning on getting rid of KL and giving people 100 free tiles in its place to make up for it. And didn’t want a lot of people mad bc they spent all their cash on land.

Now that the KL to I&S transition and event is almost over it would be logical to bring back land for cash.

    Thoughts? Insights? Insider Info?

    • Doubtful. It’s been land tokens for a while now with no end in site

      • Hate the token system.

        • The land token system might be what makes me quit playing. Since Christmas, all I can do is pile stuff up in my latest land piece. The game has completely lost the design aspect because of it. Wish I read before I nuked. Since I hated KL so bad, I had the least amount of land possible and everything was crammed in. I love the KL rides and the new ones but no room to make a park. Now it’s just grind, collect and dump where it fits

      • It has, but realistically how are we ever going to get the land?. They’ve just added like 300 tiles worth. And we get 3 tokens in a 6 week event? I mean how can we get more if not by buying them or earning somehow? It’s a bizarre set up where they just sorta dole them out suuuuuper slowly.

        • They’ll likely add more ways each event to get tokens. Dont forget with this event you could get over 100 tokens if you had all the k-land land, so they had to account for at least that when they added land for this event.

          • Those of us that read your column regularly but went ahead and nuked when it became available were unnecessarily penalized. How are we supposed to know to spend our 100,000 plus tickets on land before we nuked? I got some land tokens from nuking but not near enough and i could have had a ton which would help me a ton in my cramped town.

            • Call EA and complain. Or quit playing the game altogether. Honestly, for a month now I’ve heard people whining about the land in K-Land. I did what I could do in that I posted to BUY ALL THE LAND before you nuked the second the update hit. I’m not trying to take it out on you, I’m merely trying to say there’s nothing I can do about it. If you’re that upset complain to EA or quit playing the game. But please stop complaining to me about it. After a while it wears on me…like the kid who continuously asks “are we there yet”. There’s only so much a parent can take before it pulls off the side of the road and starts screaming…

              • All right you guys, stop breaking the moderator!

              • I don’t think roado8 was addressing you personally.
I myself was lucky to read your posts about buying land before nuking KL and got enough land tokens, but why doesn’t EA communicate this before the update hits the servers?
Other game developers (I don’t want name one here) are even sending emails to their customers before an update is going to get online, they also announce changes (and why they introduced them) on their websites.
EA’s communication with their customers is just bad, that’s a fact..and just quitting the game is not a solution to the many problems EA has with TSTO..(lags, the multi-bug, log-in issues etc If everyone who is upset is quis the game, there soon will be no TSTO anymore.

          • You’re right. They added a ton. I got 100 and used 100 from KL. But have like 150+ still available. But 1 in the prize track every two weeks. At that rate it’s years away to complete. You’d just think they’d do away with tokens now that KL is gone. Like they’d been preparing and planning this for several months to limit land purchase. Got $1.5 B in cash built up and nothing to spend it on. We shall see. Hope they have a way to get more tokens soon. I’d have gone nuts with the roller coasters but feel hemmed in

  8. I’m freemium and got her today! Itchy’s Disco will go well with TGI McScratchy’s for Parents Island (when I can eventually build and organize stuff after this event is over!). Also I like getting more female characters for my town….I counted it up once and it’s at least three to one male vs female characters. I just like having more girls 😀

    • That may be an optimistic ratio when considering the speaking roles on the show, or the percentage of words spoken:

      http://toddwschneider.com/posts/the-simpsons-by-the-data/

I do believe the game should reflect the show, but The Simpsons is a largely male-driven show, created and mostly written by men so the discrepancy should come as little surprise. It does, however, result in a weird makeup of our town citizenry. That said, it seems they may place a concerted effort in adding minor female Characters to make up for the imbalance found in central Characters.

Oh, and yes, I see the irony of stating this when we are chatting about a truly voiceless female entry into TSTO. 🙂

      …which I promptly purchased.

  9. Thanks for the post. I purchased this (as I do all new characters – “Gotta catch ’em all” – wrong game, but the mentality applies, lol).

I’m not familiar with the Parent’s Island. What else would go there and/or would you please post a pic of yours?

  10. I really like the 70’s disco and Tina…it’s already part of my Parent’s Island. Hidden at the end, past the casino, is Moe’s Express🍺…Lenny and Carl made me do it😁.

Ah, ebron, I thank the Gods for your creative mind. Without your inspiration many of our towns would look like bantha fodder.

    • Funny, I, too put the Safari Casino on my Parents’ Island
I think Kent Brockman might be visiting there more often while I rebuild after the bonus area goes away…

      • Of all the casinos, it seems the most “Disney-esque”…it’s a good fit for a theme park (it even has it’s own roller coaster😄).

    • Great stuff Ebron. You are indeed an inspiration. I wish I hadn’t used my krustyland tiles in other parts of my town now because my Kisland area is far too small 😦

  11. I’ll pass on this. The park engineer was indeed the best!
