Should I Spend Donuts on Disapproving Squirrel?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Out with the old and in with the new!  Itchy and Scratchy Land exited stage left and the Poochie mini-event arrived stage right!  Because 6 weeks of Itchy and Scratchy wasn’t enough. Of course, an all-new mini-event means a new opportunity for EA to add new premium items to our stores!

As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add Disapproving Squirrel to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this head shaking squirrel to your town…

Character: Disapproving Squirrel
Donut Cost: 65 Donuts

Leaves stores July 25th

Pros
-Will help earn event currency for the Poochie Mini Event (premium rate)
-Comes with her own questline
-Reasonably priced
-A hilarious 8hr animated task with Marge

Cons
-Not voiced
-Her 8hr task is a Joint task with Marge, so unless you have the building to do the Senor Burns she does not have an individual 8hr task.

Final Thought
Premium/Freemium:
Based on the price alone this is the one premium character from the event I would for sure pickup.  Her joint task with Marge alone makes it worth it…

Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as a premium player, I picked her up.  But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Here’s a look at their tasks…

Disapproving Squirrel’s Permanent Tasks:

Task Length Earns Location
Silently Judge Springfielders 1hr $105, 26xp Various Houses
Picket Disapprovingly 4hrs $260, 70xp Outside/Visual
Get Chased Away by Marge 8hrs $420, 105xp Outside/Visual
Get Her Hair Permed 12hrs $600, 150xp Jake’s
Clutch Her Pearls in Disgust 24hrs $1000, 225xp Various Houses

Will also have tasks to Overpay for Sex on the Beach, Try to Win At Blackjack, Drink and Babysit and Dance the Senor Burns…provided you have the buildings associated with those tasks.

What are your thoughts on Disapproving Squirrel?  Will you be spending the donuts to bring it to your Springfield? Did you already?  Why or why not?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Please Bring this charter back I want to collect all the Itchy and Scratchy cartoon Charters

  2. Part five of her quest line is locked for me, even when Marge is free. Any ideas why?

    • Same issue, I can’t complete, Get chased away by Marge… Quest has a red ‘can’t’ sign and the quest task shows locked and grayed out.

  3. Well, after sitting on the fence I bought her. I would rather cat Marge, walrus Homer and the others from The Island of Dr Hibbert though…

  4. which building is needed for the 8 hour task? Just curious if I have that building or not…

  5. No interest in furries/anthropomorphic characters mind you but obviously had to have Disapproving Squirrel. But I’m a bit disappointed that she isn’t voiced. Would it have hurt to have her actually say “Don’t Do that” when you tap her?

Less brown house tasks and more visual tasks

My pay should go in shortly – Marge Squirrel & Roy will soon be mine!!

  8. Disapproving Squirrel

Totally worth the Sprinkles, but let’s be honest – once upon a time (say 3 to 4 years ago), this Character would have been an Event Prize …. and I’d have preferred Disapproving Squirrel vs Bort (the last 2 years, EA has gotten chinzy … you rarely get a Premium Event Prize, you have to spend Sprinkles now!)

    • This links back to Patric’s article last Friday…

    • Traditionally, prize characters have NOT been premium when they were initially won.

What’s happened quite often in recent years is that a previous prize-character is offered for donuts and thus converted to a premium payout.

  9. Tony Da Tiger

Formerly ‘Screwball Squirrel’. Love having more animal characters in my town.

  10. I got Disapproving Squirrel, and I think she’s awesome.. 😊

  11. Mild spoiler: “Don’t do that! Don’t do that!” LOL!

  12. This was a no-brainer for me. My town needs more anthropomorphic characters…and especially female anthropomorphic characters! What’s not to like??

    • Has me wondering, tho…is there a Homer Possum at home, with the Bart, Lisa, and Maggie chipmunks? I would definitely spend sprinklies for the whole family😁.

  13. I’m one of “those” people that wish the characters had visual 12 or 24 hour tasks, because that is what I normally put my characters on, mostly 24 hours, so to have her inside at those times is so sad. Plus, I always have Marge working on recycling to gather my donuts so an 8 hour task with Marge doesn’t work either. I picked her up but I sure wish EA would consider more visual 12/24 tasks!

  14. It would have been funny if there had been a Disapproving Squirrel task with Itchy/Scratchy or with Poochie.
As for when I picked her up, I picked her up as soon as I could since the price was only 65 donuts for a full character. This seemed like a good deal especially when considering that most NPCs seem to be closer to that price point than the full characters.

    • Oh, yeah – I was all set to get Mrs Scratchy and Disapproving Squirrel, thinking there would be hilarious I&S antics to be had, and there are none.
Thanks, TSTO Addicts for keeping my donut count up for future items!

  15. It’s cheap and hilarious – who wouldn’t want to pick this up? 🙂

  16. Wow! If everyone says so! I guess I’ll make an effort to buy it, or should I wait for it to be in a treasure box? Hmmm ! I’ll wait a couple more days and think about it.

  17. I love the character, but my all time favorite is still her polar opposite, Slappy Squirrel from the Animaniacs…my hero and role model😆.

  18. It was an instant buy for me,
didn’t even have to think about like I normally do

  19. This article could have been 2 sentences long “Should you buy D.S? It’s D.S. – you probably already did”

    Would have paid 200.

While I think 45-50 would have been a better price point, I still picked her up the same day she became available : )

  21. djamieson2013

I picked her up the second I saw her. A premium character for 65 donuts, that helps with tasks and was hilarious in the episode. No question for me. Nice to see you in agreement too!

  22. I’m on the last prize in the event and I havent yet unlocked the 8 hour task with Marge, but people keep saying it’s hilarious so I cannot wait!

Having a squirrel that earns me money in my town and was reasonably priced was a no brainer.

    • Prizes don’t impact her tasks, her questline does.

      • I think bobq meant that the more important thing is to finish the event and after that one can focus on her questline. I do it the same way in every event. It would be a shame to miss out on event prizes because I focused on character questline.

        • You can easily complete the prize track without any premium items, so no need to wait on the quest.

          • I agree, minievents are easy, but it all depends how many times a day one can log in and putting character questlines aside may help people get it done. Plus I like to get minievents out of the way quicker, so I have real downtime without having to worry about anything 🙂

            • Agreed. As of today… I am finished. More than a FULL WEEK ahead…and that means a full week of downtime. Which is good. Because, I am truly Itchy & Scratchy and Poochy’d Out!

  23. Possibly the best character ever
