Should I Spend Donuts On the Big Bug House?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Lions and Tigers and Emus…oh my!  The Springfield Zoo (aka Moe’s Ark) event is in full swing in our pocket-sized towns!  Of course, by now, we all know that a new event means a new excuse for EA to fill our stores with limited-time premium items to tempt us.

As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Big Bug House to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this buggy location to your town…

Building/Decoration: Big Bug House
Donut Cost: 50 Donuts
Size:
8×8
Earns:
$500, 45xp/24hrs
Conform-O-Meter:
Vanity +400
Can Be Placed:
grass|dirt|pavement|boardwalk|pier

Leaves stores August 9th

Pros
-Comes with a short questline
-Youngsters (ie Kids) have a permanent 8hr task there (Get Caught in Webs, earns $420, 105xp)
-Animated when in use, lights on windows on top open to reveal spiders

Cons
-A fairly generic looking building

Final Thought
Premium or Freemium:
Fun, inexpensive, premium building.  I like that kids have a permanent task there and the animation is fun.  If you like it, grab it otherwise pass.

Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as a premium player, I’m on the fence.  I’ll likely pass, bugs aren’t my thing and I don’t plan on keeping a zoo in Springfield. But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Here’s a look at the questline it comes with…

Big Bug House
Autostarts

Comic Book Guy: Sometimes a man only gets one chance to become the greatest superhero ever. Mine is now! That giant spider’s bite will give me powers I desire!
Make Comic Book Guy Visit Big Bug House- 4hrs, Earns Event Currency
Comic Book Guy: Alas, spider-powers have eluded me. I am left with but only decaying flesh from the spider’s venom. Worst spider bite ever.

What are your thoughts on the Big Bug House?  Will you be spending the donuts to bring it to your Springfield? Did you already?  Why or why not?  Where have you placed it in your town?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Is this gone already? I don’t see it in the event items or premium items.

  2. Instant buy for me, put it in my airport! 🤔

  3. Big Bug House

    The price is right
There’s a new permanent Task for Kid Characters
It earns decent $ and XP
Animations look cool (saw it in Neighboreeno’s Springfield)

It’s just the size (should’ve been 6×6) – too large and not enough Land Tokens – yep I’m keeping my Springfield Zoo very small! 🤷🏼‍♂️

  4. Josephine Kick@$$

    Yay, tasks after the questline!!!

  5. I like that it has an event currency job for CBG but sad it’s a one off job. Why?! Same with Homer and the shark tank. So disappointing.

  6. I was on the fence about this. I really like the animation,,finding out there is a permanent task there helps. Love the SIB posts,,always such a help. 🤔🤗

  7. I like when people say lol. Lol.

  8. I previously had the mechanical ants hidden behind the school, since they really didn’t fit anywhere. Now they have a permanent home, along with the botanical gardens across the street. Nice that it can be animated after the event…lots of kids to choose from. 😁

  9. I’m so glad the animation is not a one-off! When I couldn’t send Comic book guy on his task again, I was worried about that and wondered if it had been worth it as I’d only gotten the building after I’d seen a picture of the animation and that sealed the deal for me. So when I couldn’t send him again, I thought: I should have waited for the Should I buy post of the addicts! Because then I would have been warned. But now I can just send in the kids… evil grin 😉

  10. Instant buy because I like big buildings lol.

  11. Hate it! Gone straight in storage. If the bug animation was permanent I would have felt differently but it just looks like a boring conference centre otherwise. I wish I could donate it to someone else 😖

  12. Maybe this why I’m out of item limits…. I pretty much buy everything lol.

  13. I’m thinking of buying some donuts (i’m not a fan of farming lol).
Do you think is better to buy them now that they come with a discount or later that when they give us that ****?

  14. So far it feels like we only have buildings to put in our “zoo” area. Where are the open air exhibits? It’s not feeling much like a zoo to me.

  15. Not bad for 50 donuts giving the 8 hr task for kids and I am starting to like the zoo event although mines is more of a wild life park, need more room but at the moment there’s none available next to it. Liking my big cat area. Need a task for stampy there and the animal npc would be good if they would go there.

  16. My daughter is a huge fan of bugs or else I wouldn’t be considering this because it is a little generic looking. I’ll have to think about this one.

  17. You are forgiven Alissa, you must be tired now, not far from delivery I guess! Good luck with it all! Thanks for your great work! 👍👍👍👍👍

    • Just a lot of 🤹‍♀️ going on right now. To many balls in the air trying to get everything ready and prepped. My mind’s a little scattered these days lol

  18. Your pros and cons contradict themselves there, if the kids have a permanent task, how is there no more tasks after the initial questline🤔

    • That’s what happens when you get distracted and forget to change it

      • Does WordPress support some sort of templates, wherein the commonly static text could be pre-populated and the things which usually change are select boxes with an optional free-text input? Because it seems to me something like that might help, on those days when your brain yells “Squirrel!!” at you. 😉
