Moe’s Ark Act 2 101: Attraction Bonus and Upgrading Baboon Country USA and Great Plains

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

As we did with Act 1, here’s the post where we breakdown the two latest Animal Habitats to hit our Springfields with Act 2…Baboon Country USA and Great Plains.

Let’s get started….

We’ve covered every painstaking detail of how to upgrade and everything else in our Act 1 post, so I’m not going to cover it again here.  If you’re confused I suggest you check out our Upgrading Act 1 post here.  Now onto the Act 2 Habitats…

Baboon Country, USA

Baboon Country USA, once unlocked, earns a 2.75% bonus in the bonus area.

This works just like the Emu Experience and Big Cat Country before it.  So if you’re confused about animals and upgrades, check out the Act 1 breakdown and apply the same information to Baboon Country…

Here’s the breakdown of what each upgrade costs (in Sanctuary Grants) for Baboon Country and what the bonus % awarded is (if one applies):

Starting animals are the Baboon and Monkey

Remember…Once you’ve completed the upgrades and gotten to level 7, you’ll notice there’s another Baboon Country for 1,875  at the end of the track.  If you decide you like this particular attraction and want another one, you can have another one.  Simply upgrade to level 8 and unlock another Baboon Country (which will award you another 2.75%% for the bonus area) and the upgrade track will start all over again.

You don’t have to have a second Baboon Country if you don’t want one, but if you like it and want another that’s your chance to collect everything a second time.

And while this has nothing to do with upgrading Baboon Country, here are the characters that can Volunteer there…

Sarah Wiggum and Knifey Spooney will also have tasks here when they enter the game.

So now let’s talk about…

Great Plains Upgrades

Once you’ve collected 35,000  you’ll unlock the Great Plains.  This is the second attraction/habitat area for Act 2, and the 4th overall for the event. This works just like the Emu Experience, Big Cat Country, and Baboon Country, USA before it.  So if you’re confused about animals and upgrades, check out the Act 1 breakdown and apply the same information to the Great Plains

Great Plains, once unlocked, earns a 4.5% bonus in the bonus area.

Thoughts on upgrades?  Will you be getting more than one of each?  Thoughts on the animals in the habitats? Sound off below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Like the Great Plains enclosure most. Accidentally upgraded the Emu Experience at level 8 without realising it wasn’t necessary. Now hoping I can save enough for a 2nd Great Plains.

  2. Are you going to be able to continue to upgrade the habitats once the event ends? And NO, not for expensive donuts.

  3. How do you expand the zoo area? There is a portion in light blue but I can’t purchase the land. I see other zoos with lots of land area. I won’t have enough land for the third event. Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks.

  4. With the first three areas, there was a specific task for upgrading. I’m not getting one for upgrading the Great Plains. Is there any benefit to waiting for Act 3 to upgrade (e.g., will there eventually be a task?), or should we go ahead and upgrade now?

  5. I am sure this was covered or asked by someone already, but I cannot find it… I assume that we cannot upgrade our exhibits after the event is over, correct? Ideally, I would like separate exhibits for all the animals, or at least 2-3 of each (because why would a wolverine be with a panda and monkeys… c’mon). But the event is run so that it’s hard enough just to upgrade the 1 you have without having much left over. I do not want to waste donuts on the currency (I was wiped out after buying Sarah Wiggum and I am generally a freemium player who KEM farms only when I have enough money) as I just spent real life money to buy donuts back during the I&SL event and can’t do it often. I just would like to know if I am going to have the ability to upgrade them after the event is over or if I will have to spend real life cash just to get what I want during the event?

  6. With 5 animals but only 4 spaces why aren’t the added extensions available to put animals on, makes sense

  7. I have a full giraffe in slot 4

  8. Baboon Country Upgrades – well I got the Panda, I’m sure to have Primate Jungle Gym on Monday (I really like the animals in this Area).

I don’t know how I’m going to fit Great Plains in the Zoo Zone (EA needs to give us a 3rd Land Token), but I will figure it out next week. 😜

  9. Can you only get 2 baboon country? When max upgraded, it didn’t give a third, it says it’s the max prize, I bought it, it’s checked off, but I didn’t get one. I was hoping for 3 trees. Can I even get a third?

  10. Think I need more substantial land 9×9 to expand a little, I have 2 land tokens but no land nearby to use it.

    • I had to shuffle some stuff around at the beginning to start the zoo near the beach and still have enough space to expand. Maybe you can group-store something near more open space and move it out to the new 9×9 section.
Am shuffling again to fit the monkeys and the Aquarium in. Had to move my whole “peek-at-you” area over to Angelica Buttons world (it goes nicely with the Wiggums Fantastical Beastarium tent) and I expect to shuffle some more when Act 3 hits. There’s no more room in my zoo for now, but I know the Plains Exhibit is coming, so more shuffling is in the future.😬

      • Yes more shuffling, trying to move krusy land so work in progress, although I still have areas that need work and just look cluttered.

  11. Have I missed a step?
After getting max on all three habitats, I am only at 19.75, and the quest demands 20.0: so I am missing 0.25 somewhere?

  12. Why does the panda look so evil lol. Also I love the decorations that this act has offered!!

    • All pandas are secretly members of the Endangered SpeciesYakuza ⚔️🐼⚔️…the “cute and cuddly” bit is just to avert suspicion. Kinda like penguins that come from Madagascar…it’s all an act…😄

      • Waay back in the day, a couple of kids did a comic serial for the school newspaper: ADOLESCENT RADIOACTIVE KUNGFU PANDAS . They called it an “homage”, but we all knew was it was.

  13. Is there a maximum bonus percentage for the zoo area like there has been in previous events?

  14. Josephine Kick@$$

At least there’s a giraffe 😁 So many other animals I’d love to have seen. Some odd selections though, cute pandas, but where’s their bamboo? 😜

    • But why are we only getting the giraffe from the neck up? Giraffes don’t burrow…I really don’t get the joke, if there is one. Of all the animals I’d like to see complete, the giraffe is the winner…again, I just don’t get it.😬

  15. Why is the giraffe inside a hole?

    • It was a joke from the Simpsons Safari episode. Lisa complains when they watch a rhino hatch from an egg, then turns to see a giraffe stick its neck out of a hole in the ground.

  16. Love the zoo!

But I am at the point with the game that I feel the need to have the ability to zoom-out a lot more. The way my Springfield has grown I’m having a difficult time appreciating the overall look. Yes, I can zip around town using the transfer buildings but I would really like to SEE more of my Springfield on the screen. I’m willing to live with a much lower resolution if one zooms out past a certain point …….

    • I second that! Even if it was just for looking (no collecting income etc), just zoom out and enjoy the view 🙂

  17. G’day! G’day! Folks all over the world
I am patiently waiting for Sarah Wiggum and for Knifey Spooney. Living in Australia, it is almost my duty to get him! He will have lots of sheep, that’s for sure!

  18. Correct me if I’m remembering incorrectly, but don’t you need to add that second habitat in order to clear the upgrade task? I seem to remember having to do that last act. Also, while I don’t really want a second one of any of these, I’m grabbing them for the bonus % points. I’m not upgrading them beyond getting them (saving the currency for the next act) and will be storing the duplicates at the end of the event.

  19. I have a task to upgrade Baboon County that’s at 0/1, but my attraction is level 4. What`s up with that? Does it have to be fully upgraded?

  20. I like the decor of this event so far. Although, the water park stuff might get its own space outside the zoo. Not sure how it fits in the small space yet. Maybe when I have unlocked more land in the next couple of events it will fit nicely. So far enjoying this event though.

  21. Great attraction but think I will upgrade to the last animal and see what other upgrades I want at the end of act 3, already made 2 mistakes by getting a second emu experience and buying the monkey shelter, but love the animal areas.

  22. These decorations are awesome! 😍

    • I agree…I had a wish list a while ago, and “nature parcels” was on it…complete little vignettes that would help fill in wilderness areas, but only count as one piece. Guess somebody was listening 👍😁.

  23. I’m going to stick with one of each for now. If I have leftover currency I may get multiple. I love the look of the Great Plains.

  24. I really like the look of the extension pieces. If only you could place animals on them, too. It kinda looks silly to have all animals crowded in one spot and lots of empty space next to that and besides, why have five animals in one area when you can only see four? I don’t see myself getting nearly enough crafting currency to buy seconds of each plot.

I just wish that I didn’t have to deal with the floating ‘flag’ that screams “tap me, upgrade” just because I have the available Currency, once I have finished upgrading my First Habitat.

Save your Dixie Cups, the South shall rise again!
Save your Currency, a new Habitat shall rise again!
