Super Safi’s Stats & Strategy Special: Minigames – Where’s Maggie!

Salutations Senors, Senoras, Senoritas, Statisticians & Strategists,

(Today’s post is sponsored by the letter ‘S’)

Hi, I’m Super Safi and you may remember me from such stats and strategy posts as KEM Farming and the advanced losing-to-win Superheroes battle strategy.

What better way to spend your time than talking math. So from time-to-time, I’ll come to you with a post that delves into the wonderful world of numbers, stats, and/or strategies.

While we’ve previously discussed Springfield Downs and the Go Kart Track last year, we’ll continue to look at most of the Minigames found within our game. We continue our journey today with Where’s Maggie!

WHERE’S MAGGIE?

The Where’s Maggie minigame can be played at the Playdough Factory every 16 hours.

The objective of the minigame is to find Maggie who is hidden in the vicinity of one of a selected group of buildings. Once the game begins the player has a specific amount of time to find her and conclude the game by tapping on the base of building where she is located. The standard reward is 500  and 200 .

The minimum search time is 30 seconds, which is increased according to the number of buildings the player has where Maggie can hide. The first one of each different type of building adds 2 seconds to the countdown, while the second to forth add 0.5 second each up to a maximum of 2 minutes. The minigame can be played every 16 hours but cannot be started if Maggie is busy.

Where is Maggie?

Here are the buildings where Maggie can be found:

Android’s Dungeon
Bart’s Treehouse
Town Hall
Cletus Farm
First Church of Springfield
KrustyBurger
Lard Lad Donuts
Luigi’s
Moe’s Tavern
Police Station
Simpson’s House
VanHouten’s House
Springfield Elementary
Springfield Library
Retirement Castle
Wax Museum
Ziff Corp Office Building
Blue House
Brown House
Orange House
Pink House
Purple House
White House

Maggie is normally on top of a building. There are exceptions, though: Maggie may also hide sitting in the doughnut’s hole of the large figure (mascot) at Lard Lad Donuts, and sometimes she is not on top of, but rather in the entrance area of Springfield Elementary or the Springfield Wax Museum, or in the garage entrance of the Simpson House.

I Found Maggie!

When successful 3 times (not necessarily in a row), the player selects one of three boxes to win one, two, or three donuts, as with the bonus levels and bonus gifts on Events. If the player doesn’t win three donuts on the first try, there is an option to spend $150,000 Cash each to open one or both of the remaining two boxes.

Tips and Strategies

  • Turn up your volume while searching for Maggie as she can be heard sucking on her pacifier.
  • Place the buildings where Maggie can hide near the Playdough Factory.
  • Build multiples of those buildings to increase the time up to 2 minutes, but don’t go overboard or it can be harder to find Maggie.
  • Once you find Maggie, you need to tap the base of the building where you spot Maggie, not on Maggie herself, otherwise the game doesn’t recognize that you found her.
  • If time has nearly run out, you can abruptly force close the game, and will have the opportunity to restart the game much sooner than 16 hours later.

Do you play Where’s Maggie? How many days does it take you to earn donuts? Do you always go for 3 donuts? How much time is on your search clock? Which building is the easiest to spot Maggie? Which is the hardest? What stats or strategy related topic would you liked discussed? Share your thoughts. You know we love hearing from you. And be sure to come back soon for the Where’s Maggie minigame.

  1. Being in the down time between events, I decided to run an experiment. First I put my playdough factory, Simpson house, Bart’s treehouse and 9 brown houses together. Then I stored every other item on the location list. After that I ran the Maggie game 100 times by rushing it at 8 donuts a pop.
My results were 100 of 100 times she was at the Simpson house. Therefore, I would like to restate my assertion that EA either just put those on the list in error or didn’t finish some coding that would allow Maggie to show up there.
I know there can never be definitive proof since I can’t store the Simpson house, but this seems pretty darn close.

  2. I play all Time figure it’s donuts to be won. I don’t worry about not finding her so I don’t do the hard close. Just take my prize an move along. I say probably 90% success rate.

I don’t play with sound. I just scroll through areas I know she hides. Just watch for her moving on roof tops. I do always spend the cash to get 3 donuts. Wouldn’t say I have an abundance of cash, but during events in every 4 hours doesnt take long to earn cash back. I do have a small farm I work away at.

  3. I play “Where’s Maggie” daily. I have a “Maggie” neighborhood, where all of the buildings where she can hide are grouped together. I have the most trouble finding her on buildings where the colors blend, like the blue houses. I moved a decoration that I used to have in front of Cletus’s fence, because the decoration made Maggie harder to find.

I’d forgotten that the time for finding is variable depending on number of “Maggie” buildings. I get 1:15. Maybe I need more “Maggie” buildings! Every now and then, I hear absolutely no “Maggie” sound and cannot find her, despite looking at every single eligible building–and then when the timer runs down, suddenly she is on one of the buildings for the “reveal,” but I could swear she wasn’t there when I was looking!

I always go for the three donuts. Maggie has never, ever hidden on Bart’s Treehouse.

  4. Didn’t know that the search time increases with the number of certain buildings so thank you 🙂

I love finding Maggie cause I love earning donuts. I always go for 3! If …IF…I’m able to observe her whereabouts before tapping the factory to begin the search Then it’s easier to locate her within that proximity; At least I’m testing this theory! Feel like a champ if I locate her within 4-10 seconds.
Gotta love Maggie and those free donuts. RevJRO

    • As far as I’m concerned… Always playing for 3 is a “no brainer”.

Of course, if you haven’t played long enough that “cash is not the obstacle”…perhaps not so relevant, but otherwise… DEFINITELY! Why? Where else in the game can you directly trade IN GAME CASH for SPRINKLES? 🍩🍩🍩🍩

  6. I’ve also found Maggie at Abu Simbel Temple and Woodstock Casino. Never at Bart’s Treehouse nor the brown house.

  7. 90% of the time Maggie is on my blue house farm. 9% off the time she’s on my white horses. She’s much harder to find there. I have to zoom in or I’ll never see her. Now i can nearly always find her in less than 30 seconds. 1% of the time she’ll be on one of the staple Springfield buildings – kwik e mart, flanders house, krusty burger. It’s much more difficult to find her there and i often lose those ones.

  8. I have been playing this game since almost the start, missed the snake whacking event, but it has always been 2mins for me, and since I have about 50 white houses to generate in game cash, she always (99.5%) appears over them, and yes when she does appear somewhere else, I try to be fair and find her, but if 5secs left on the clock and no sign of her, i force quit, wait 1min log back in, and wait the 1-2 minute “cooling” time and try again, usually it will be once again on the white houses.. 🙂 and since I have over 1 bil in game cash, I always go for the 3 donuts. Besides all that, I like the way she floats to places, it is fun to watch.

  9. I don’t play it anymore. You need to turn the sound way up and it takes too long. It’s not worth the effort if you are donut farming. Plus it costs 150k for each guess you take.

  10. I usually average a donut a day. I have 2:30 on the timer due to buildings. I almost always manage to find her. The in-game cash cost for another guess is always worth it.

  11. Wow, I had no idea that the timer was based on how many buildings are in your town. I’ve been at 1:16 since the game was introduced. And I think it was the first permanent option to earn donuts, which was pretty incredible at the time!

Speaking of which, if you didn’t get Maggie when she was introduced as a solo character, how can you get her and the Playdough Factory in your town?

  12. Thanks for this Safi! Where’s Maggie is one of the minigames I always play. I need to move my Lard Lad & Wax Museum. They’re a bit too far away & when I lose (not often) she’s usually at one of these buildings. I have quite a few white houses lined up on the beach where I find her about 90% of the time, as I don’t have many other multiple houses. RachelS

  13. I have to confess that “Where’s Maggie” used to be part of my regular routine for mining donuts. But, since going to the “dark side” of Donut Farming (which Safi ALSO promoted), I have ceased. Too much work…and if you don’t guess right the first time, the second and third guesses are way too expensive. For me…unless she is needed, Maggie hangs from the tree in my Dystopian area, fighting off the other kids. Sad but true.

    • Me too, I love her in the outlands and donut farming with RTTs is just faster and easier. Plus, the factory is huge and I’m trying to keep a lid on giant “space suckers” in my new designs. Which means, of course, that most of the zoo will become digital dustbunnies when the event is over, and will be swept into the storage bin. 😁

      • I actually love “star Maggie” just twirling around… But usually keep her free for the extra sprinkles!

        >

      • Indeed, I’m moving toward storing it as well. For now, the factory works because I have it in my elf-town (love those tiny houses generating XP-bonus and game-cash) with Santa’s house up the block. Santa’s running a company-town…..

But I don’t like the floating icons in my town so I play the game just to be rid of it.

  14. The timer is misleading. I’ve had two or three instances where I found Maggie with at least five seconds to spare; however, the timer kept going during the time it took for the game to acknowledge it and have Maggie pop up with her balloon. The game said time ran out even through the find animation was in progress. The timer should stop as soon as we find her.

    • I’m not sure whether this has happened to me or if I only had 5 secs to spare & didn’t tap on precisely the right spot. Oh, & I have tons of game cash so I always go for 3 donuts. I’ve never seen Maggie at Bart’s Treehouse either & have played since the game began. I wonder if having the Casino skin on the treehouse makes a difference? RachelS 🤔

    • I had that problem, as well. Reading the description above, I suspect that it was because I was tapping MAGGIE, not the base of the building. Eventually, I just found other ways to get donuts, particularly since I had HUGE house farms at the time… too many places she could hide.

  15. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her at Bart’s Treehouse! Strange.

    • I don’t think that’s one of the options. I’ve played this mini-game since it came out and I’ve never seen her there once.

  16. I was terrible at finding Maggie and the timer stressed me out, so I stashed the Playdough Factory. Thanks for the tips, Safi! You always have good insights.

  17. I always play it, and keep Maggie out of the 24h rotation I have the rest of the characters on. I almost always find her, too, as I have made a search pattern that I can easily go through (twice) in the 1:40 I have on the clock. But on average, because of sleep/timing I get donuts every 3 days. I always choose the box on the left, and take those donuts without complaining. I tried spending the 150k to choose again once, thinking I would get both the first donut I selected AND the ones from the second box, but I got only the ones from the second then. Not worth it to me. Anyway I make monorail pieces on the side that gets me 5 donuts almost as fast (out of the events), so.. considering KEM farming next! Will check out your post, thanks Safi!

  18. I have 1:20 on my time clock and since I always find her, this game gives me one donut a day.

  19. I run this daily. I start at the ocean at the base of the hills and move up to the end of my Maggie buildings, move “east” and head back to the ocean. Dreapeating the pattern I usually find her in a minute. I settle for 2 donuts in all these games.

Thanks for the tip about Lard Lad. That’s probably why I miss her occasionally.

    Rick

  20. I typically get 3 donuts (I have plenty of money to spare) every 2 days – set it up so that the first search is shortly after i wake up, then the second is shortly before I go to bed and the third one during lunch break on the next day. My timer is 1:16 – I don’t own many copies of houses.

I’ve never has Maggie hide in Bart’s treehouse through. Wonder why, maybe because it is placed right next to Simpson;s house and thus partly covered by it?

  21. Hey everyone.i house farm (blue, pink, orange etc.)and 90% of the time she is in the farm.very quik find.
