How do you greet one another on Rosh Hashanah???
“Leshana tovah tikatev v’tichatem” (לשנה טובה תכתב ותחתם). When greeting a female, this is modified to“Leshana tovah tikatevee v’tichatemee” (לשנה טובה תכתבי ותחתמי). This means, “May you be written and sealed for a good year.”
Why is this important? Because it is also Rosh Hashanah in our Springfields, and there are some special new and returning items being offered, that deserve a “SHOULD I SPEND DONUTS” post on them!

The Rosh Hashanah mini event hit our towns on Saturday the 8th, but Rosh Hashanah didn’t officially start until Sunday the 9th, and runs through the evening of Tuesday the 11th. Good Old EA…keeping us confused…as usual.
BUT…in our Springfields, the time for you to buy the Rosh Hashanah Items actually doesn’t end until Wed. the 12th, at 7A PDT (along with this event).
There just isn’t time to do individual posts on all of the items…because they really do come and go quickly (like the passing of a holiday).
And…I given the short time frame, I am not going to go into the detail that Alissa does on her SIBs…but will link the old posts for the older content. In the end, I will do an overall suggestion on the items. OK? Let’s get to it!
The Tower of Babel Hit First…it is the classic Old Testament high rise, that according to legend, is responsible for creating a world full of people who can’t understand one another. And let’s face it, even when we do speak the same language, we often don’t understand one another. So God did us a real Doozy with this one! I mean…have you ever heard someone from the Jersey shore say, “shore” or “water?” Sheesh.

I bought all of it. Just sayin’… But, I am now a bona fied donut farmer, so I had the donuts.
If I was to lay these out in order of importance…and why:
- Rabbi and Temple– ABSOLUTELY. It was one of the most asked for characters for months and months. I bought him the minute he became available. Plus…Krusty needs a Dad. Dead or not dead.
- Gray Mare – Buy at least one of them! 2% Bonus for 40 donuts is a pretty good deal.
- Jewish Heaven – is just a decoration in the end. A very cool, funny decoration, that looks great next to “real heaven.”
- Sophie- I have to admit, I passed the first couple of times she was offered. But, bought her with my “ill gotten farmed contraband donuts.”
- Tower of Babel– I bought it. Looks great next to my Heavens…and waves in the wind.
Of course…in the end, it’s YOUR CHOICE (Free Will and all of that), but don’t wait around for long…this leaves soon!
But what did I do with mine??
Mine sits waaaaaaaaaay up on the top left of my screen…near my Duystopian/Post-Apocalypse area. The Gateway to Heaven is just the Slaughter House Trailer (do cows go to heaven?)…down the path past the Tower of Babel, Jewish Heaven, and “Jeebus Heaven” with God. My “Road to Enlightenment” is clearly convoluted…perhaps because you have to journey past the giant goblet of wine. And the “Virgin Birth” is equally convoluted by the Old/New Testament version, as well as the very real possibility that the Aliens had something to do with it.

I bought a couple of old gray mares for my zoo as they work well near the sheep and emus… can always do with more percentage! Bought the Jewish and I agree that the only place this works would be next to the Jesus Heaven… against the mountains so that it doesn’t cover up any buildings or decorations in your Springfield!
Regarding the SIB for Jewish Heaven. Patric: “Conform-O-Meter: I forgot to look when I bought it. So shoot me.” Well, as they say, ask and ye shall receive. *Shoots Patric* There ya go.

As for the Old Gray Mare, she’s been offered in weekly safe deal for 30 donuts several times. I bought one some years ago and keep it in Springfield park.
I didn’t buy anything Jewish this time (or before) because i am strapped for donuts. Busy farming for mystery boxes… I just love the content from them.

Why are you farming for mystery boxes? Last I checked they don’t really offer much in terms of value. At least not to me.
Well,
For one thing, the discount deal appeal hasn’t gotten anywhere… it’s that feeling that drives those crazy crowds on Black Friday.
Also, the 50 donut box had several items with a very fair multiplier bonus. I wanted all those because I’d like to have at least one of each decorations in my town. I always hunt for multiplier items, they’ve come to be offered very rarely recent years. (I don’t appreciate fields of news mini-vans and billboards that some of my neighbors have on display.)
As for the historical society, a full character and a building, that’s a steal for 50 donuts! Same with Jub jub. Brandine from 100 donut box was on my list forever! I got her the last of all prizes (of course).
As for NPC, those also bring fun to my streets. I love the little inbreds like screamapillar or mutant seedling. While I didn’t necessarily want to get them, it’s okay if I did. I did.

Krusty keeps his four hour job to Blow His Shofar at Jewish heaven, which earns event currency at a premium rate. Worth it if you’re cutting things close

Agree with you on the old gray mare, but….it comes up every few weeks in the vault, with a 10 donut rebate, IIRC. So, you might be better off waiting a bit on the mare, if donuts are tight. Otherwise, grab it. Definitely worth the bonus, and there is no shortage of places for it/them to go.
