As I hinted at yesterday, this is (yet another) Superheroes update. Woo-hoo Things kick off with a 4hr task for Milhouse, once that’s complete you’ll kick off the mini-event.
Let’s take a look at what else is in store…

And that’s what’s included with this mini-event update! Something to keep you tapping for the next 2 weeks. I have a feeling we’ll see a Halloween teaser hit once this ends, and then Halloween the following week (Oct 2nd/3rd), at least that’s my guess. We’ll see what happens though.

I did the mystery box and got the thing I really wanted, the publishing house! I went to school for English and love that stuff.
Not sure where to post this. But I’m having issues when I store stuff from the zoo update and go to replace it. Any habitat I stored just places a new one at level one. Despite me having 2 if each at level 7-8. I now I have 20 Babbboon Counties all level 1 and the game refuses to “plant” my level 8. And of corse it can’t sell any of the level ones. Argh.
Ever since this update for some reason the office of unemployment hasn’t been sending Grandpa on tasks, despite him having no quests at the moment… anyone else have a weird glitch like that?
I guess I won’t see the mystery box, I have everything in it already. But since we have Hot Flash where is Mrs. Glick? Only the brief mention that there is a glick in the system? I got her anyway in case the real Mrs. Glick shows up…

But not related to previous superhero events, characters from previous super hero events dont help. Why not?
There is rarely a tie in from previous events, you rarely have any benefit from having gotten things in previous events. Such a shame, because players thst have been playing for longer would get a nice benefit for their loyalty to the game.

I actually don’t mind this as a filler, I am really happy to obtain Everyman as a skin for CBG. Glad it’s not a major event though! Classic episode… Bart to CBG “I heard Spider-Man was actually a comic book before it was a movie, is this true?”

People already owning premium characters should have the opportunity to buy premium costumes for these characters for half price at least.
I payed the full price for Moleman ..and now 60 donuts for a costume? No way.

Off topic but one thing I love about this blog is that unlike other sites, I don’t see snarky replies to others comments correcting spelling or grammar. We know TSTO is played around the world and the Addicts blog is contributed to from around the world. ❤ Many times I see questions asked by people clearly not native English speakers, and no matter how mangled questions might be, people respond as helpfully as possible without judgement.. I am a native English speaker and I unapologetically butcher grammar by placing commas where I feel they should go instead of following the rules. We all know how arbitrary English rules can be.
I love Open Thread to hear about where people are from and what’s happening there, what their life is like and their perspective on things.
I think Ctrl, you have a beautiful command of a language not initially your own.
I want to say to people reading here, wanting to contribute or ask questions but might be feeling insecure because you’re afraid your spelling or grammar isn’t perfect- don’t be. We’re a supportive community here. Speak, Comment, Ask- tell us about you on open thread, we’re interested.

And yes…we do our best to keep the “snark” to a minimum. The “Delete” key is used judiciously. There are just so many ways to play the game, there is no right or wrong. In the end, this community should be a place to feel free to have an opinion…ask questions…and have fun. Opinions vary…but the vibe is, and should always be, “Chillaxed.”
I love a quick mini event and then downtime till a major event. It’s not a bad mini event. The good thing is that you don’t have to buy the premium characters and you could skip this mini event if you wanted. I’m going to play it and finish as soon as possible so I can relax and fix up my zoo area and get my Halloween section ready. ⚰️🔮⚰️🔮
I might try the mystery box once or twice, though I’m not into all of the items in it. Also I liked superhero event 1 and 2 but now it does seem very stale. Also hot flash? I’m not sure if I should find it funny or offensive, it’s a bit of both I think, but that’s part of The Simpsons, of course. I sort of like her, but it seems it a stand alone character? No building whatsoever? That’s simply not worth it.
Also I liked the Springfield Asylum but the 200 donuts that it was before was overreach, so this is far better, but then there are so many other things in the box as well, so it will be a gamble. I’m somewhat on the fence here still.
Superheroes Mini Event
It’s not a grind fest (in my opinion), you get a free Land Token (aka hot commodity), that’s 2 Buildings + 1 Character (ignore the Decor and accept this as better Prizes then Act 3 of the last Event), with plenty of time to Kem Farm (or sit out this Mini Event).
Check out the Vault for new goodies (I scored the Aztec Theatre at discount, now a certain Teen finally gets a permanent 4 Hour Task). I can’t say the new Premiums interest me (they may interest others), but I’m redoing the Springfield Zoo (yep, had to store whatever was a waste of space).

I would say its worth it, if it changes his voiced quotes to things about liberty cabbage, yams filled with gunpowder, unions tied to belts, and his other long storys. like the time I caught the ferry over to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe, so, I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on ’em. Give me five bees for a quarter, you’d say.
Now where were we? Oh yeah: the important thing was I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn’t have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones…

Well, after reading the comments I finally have Moleman. Free skin basically? And one that lets him earn a premium rate for the mini event? Sure, I’ll bite for that. I know mini events are easy to finish but with my schedule the next couple weeks extra help can’t hurt. Especially when that extra help gets me a classic character.
Side note, anybody here also watch Big Brother? I find the timing of a comic book mini event launching the same day as the BB Comics veto comp airing, and ending on the day of the finale kind of hilarious. I mean, the odds of that happening couldn’t have been high.

Yeah! Got Raptor and the tar pits on the first attempt. I had 1 chance out of 4 to get it. Very happy. I agree with a break. I hope we will get it over xmas and new year. I am playing since the very beginning of the game and gring every four hours plus! Because I grind in the railyard too! Even when on holidays! I will find a way to find some wifi somewhere to be able to finish a challenge, very often playing in the middle of the night if I know that I will not be able to access wifi during the day. Basically Tapped Out is ruling my life. I am an addict!

Well EA, you prove me wrong yet again, I tell everyone to brace themselves for the amazing, spendy mini event I’ve come to expect after the last few years, and you give us what you even acknowledge in your opening dialogue is over worked, tired content that no one wants to see anymore of.
For some reason I want Dr. Crab out of the mystery box even though almost all my other event characters are stored. So maybe a crack at the mystery box. I do find myself slightly disturbed by my interest in Hans’ Iron Lung costume. Other than that….🤐
I expect a knock out punch for Halloween EA after this sucker of a mini event.
I’m not sure I understand why you’re protesting this mini event.
Did you miss the last part of my first run on sentence? Even EA acknowledges they’ve overworked the Superheroes theme, but are still doing it again despite the fact they know people are sick of it.
some people havent been around enough. My first event was bart royale, and i never got any of the good ones like superheroes or stonecutters. I would gladly welcome a part 2 of those…
Not one hour ago my Husband just announced to me we should name our next pet (dog) should be named Ronin. I thought of you immediately thanks so much, but we know the historical reference of a Ronin is a Samurai without a master, why he would want that in a pack animal remains to be seen? Negotiations continue.

Wow I have been holding out for a Moleman discount / bonus and here we go! As mentioned earlier, the confirm donut spend seems to have glitched out, even with the box checked.

If you are a lower level, you might not have the characters to trigger the event. you may need to be lvl 15 or 20. Buy a few Kems (Kwik e marts), and you might level up enough

Disappointed Spider Pig isn’t in the mystery box. Tried for him last year and failed, hopefully won’t have to wait til next summer for another chance.
So much this. I was so excited when I saw this post this morning because I thought “YES! I can finally get Spider-Pig” and then got so deflated when I realised he wasn’t in the mystery box. Sigh.

I can’t get the new quest line because my game demands a daily download. I missed out on the last quest too. Any suggestions?
Try freeing up space on your device. It’s likely you don’t have enough free space. This game requires at least 5GB free on your device. Once you free up the space you’ll get the download one more time and then it should stop.
Hate that ypteh events end in the middle of the night. If you don’t stay up late to get the last minute stuff you lose. I agree we all need a break evrey couple months at least or it gets to be very mundane. I have been playing for 5 years so I know the grind and like the fact they want to keep our interest but a short break would allow us to recharge our enthusiasm.
Does the Mystery box with items show up AFTER mini event starts? Still waiting for Milhouse to complete initial 4 hours.. no mystery box in my store.. only Vault and some left over Zoo items.
Make sure you did the full update. And Yes…you may need to get through the first 4 hours, when the details of the even actually appear. That’s when I noticed mine.
Everything will show up after you finish the first Milhouse’s task, don’t worry 🙂
Hey I never could get moleman and now I might be able to get him with a costume… kinda upset we didn’t get grampa as the end of quest like reward, as the episode was about him lol. Regardless this is my first superhero event,my account got hacked the holloween before this(I even have my diet sign and ufo to prove it lol)
If you don’t have Hans Moleman, the “Iron Lung” costume also includes the base character, no change in donut price (60 donuts).
He’s one of a few characters I’ve been holding off on, hoping for a character+costume bargain combo price.
Worrisome side note: Although “confirm donut spend” was turned on, I didn’t get an are-you-sure prompt this time like I have in the past. (Toggled it off-on, but nothing else jumped out at me as desired premium purchase.)
Same thing happened to me just now, upon buying Hans Moleman and Iron Lung. Oddly, when I bought Dr. Nick earlier today (90 donuts w/25-donut rebate for net 65!) I got my normal donut-spend warning.
Same thing happened to me. I double checked the confirm spend is on. Haven’t bought anything else yet to check. Must be a glitch. Imagine that!?!!🤔
I rushed a couple of tasks and confirm donuts worked again.

Maybe EA will give us the person as a skin in the future and they’re doing a superman style reversal where hot flash is the character and alice glick is there public disguise.
