Addicts Open Thread

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread!  So, let’s get the conversation going!  Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long.  This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!

Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING.  Just no Add me requests…those should go here.  We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

So, here is your Open Thread…..

Last few days of the newest installment of Superheroes are coming up (ends Wednesday), what do you think will hit next?  Personally, I think we’ll see a teaser and then Halloween next week…but that’s just me.  It is the last week of Sept, so you never know…

As I just mentioned, it’s the last week of September, which means…Halloween is quickly approaching!  What do you think the TSTO Halloween Event will bring to Springfield? What are your ideas for your own Halloween?  Costume plans?  Still working on our costume ideas here…

And finally, how about the rest of your weekend?  Do anything fun and exciting?  Enjoying the first days of Fall?  (Christmas will be here before you know it!)

So chat about the Simpsons, TSTO, Update fun, or anything else you can think of! (Just no politics, it never ends well)  Can’t wait to chat with you all, you know we love hearing from you!

Have Fun!  And happy Sunday!

  1. On the new Halloween tasks is anyone find G the game freezes until all tapped items clear like money and xp.

Every time I tap a building I have to wait for the xp to clear before I can move the screen

  2. Monorail question: how many cars can you have? I have 4, plus the two engines, so 6 units. I’d love to have more, if EA ever gives that option, but wondered if I had the current maximum. Doesn’t need to be too many more cars, but 2 more would be nice. I think it’d look cooler.
Add that to my request for another station or two, and clearly I have a serious monorail fixation. I still think that’s the most interesting town-building feature, with the most wide-ranging and intriguing implications for planning and development. Unlike the roads, which cars can’t drive on (! – except for the dang street cleaner), the monorail is basically functional! So cool…

  3. I wish EA releases a new aspirational item. It has been a while. I don’t mind even if it cost 4B game cash

  4. I have a second game going – it’s been a few months – and this time around I thought I knew the best strategy, but now I don’t think I do. 😉

Is it best to get your conformity bonus to 100% first, and if so, what’s the best way to do that? Or is it best to save all your cash to get the characters with buildings – or is it best to buy all the buildings to get more cash first, or a combination of all of the above? I KEM farmed for a while there to get donuts but then realized that I got too far ahead of things. Earning cash is slow still, and having gone through the levels so quickly, I can’t afford the more expensive buildings and characters that came with it.

Also, having Krustyland in Springfield, you can buy decorations to increase your vanity or tree-hugging – does this apply to both Krustyland and Springfield?

Any tips or links to previous articles would be very helpful!

    Thanks! -Cat

    • (1)Is it best to get your conformity bonus to 100% first – It is only worth 5%, nothing to worry about. But if your righteousness is less than 5 stars buy Training walls. It takes less than 50 to get 0.5% bonus, pretty cheap.
      (2) for cash house farm – buy depending on how often you visit. Once a day, Orange Houses, twice a day White and Blue, every 1/2 hour Krusty Burgers and brown houses. I like to rotate buying the non-brown houses depending which is cheapest.
      (3) most important: invest your donuts in the XP collider (10 days – 25 donuts), and 6 donuts Mystery Boxes to up your % (plus get Lard Lads for more cash). Some building cash out every hour, so the more you visit the more cash you collect. If you plan to return in a hour send your characters out for 1 hour tasks, etc. Usually the highest return is the lower times.
      (4) KEM farm to earn donuts. Get to point where you can purchase a $14,400 KEM. Even if you can’t afford the XP collider, KEM farm at least 8. Make sure you sell your KEMs so that the first one is $220.
      (5) Get more characters and buildings through events. But don’t use your donuts until your got your % to 2000%. (Except for the beach hideaway if you don’t have it already.).
      (6) play games that get you bonus items – the space rocket, chili, find Maggie.

      • Thanks, Charles! I have bought the training walls for full righteousness stars, but still have yet to max out vanity, tree-hugging, gluttony and consumerism. What are the best trees and plants or decorations? Best restaurants?

I have started increasing my houses, but I need cash to buy land, so I’m stuck waiting to earn money for land.

I always invest donuts in the Xp collider. Most times I barely have enough to keep it going. I’ll have to increase KEM farming to keep up. So that means no mystery boxes because I can’t use my donuts for anything but the collider.

Looking forward to the halloween event to see how that increases my characters and buildings and overall conformity %. I do play the games but I only have the Maggie game. Not sure if I will ever see the quest to get chili and space rocket.

Biggest thing is I need cash and land.

        Thanks for the tips, Charles!

        • If you haven’t yet, land is easy to get with Springfield Heights. Consider not designing (i.e. compact everything together) to gain more space until you are generating enough cash.

You didn’t mention how often you visit or your level. Is your goal just to easily play or maximize as soon as possible? If you are generating just enough donuts to run the XP collider, and you don’t visit often (at least every 4 hours), consider not running XP collider and use the donuts to buy Mystery Boxes to up your bonus. (100% increase is equivalent to doubling all your buildings and characters).

If you still need more land, try buying land first, place buildings, then buy KEMs.

          • I visit at least 3 times a day so the collider is a good use of donuts I think. My goal is… well, that’s a great question. I think my goal is to figure out a winning strategy! 😉 I enjoy the quests, but I think I want to see this time around how quickly I could start piling up donuts and buy the characters I’ve always wanted to buy if I just knew what I was doing.

I’ll try the buying land first and place buildings and houses, then start KEM farming a little, and then work on getting characters and other expensive items.

            Thanks!

    • This would be my plan…

Focus on acquiring land, buying characters and house farming for cash- blue houses are usually a good compromise between $ earned per hr and how many times you have to collect per day.

Use donuts primarily for mystery boxes to increase your xp bonus and to increase cash with Lard Lads…start a Lard Lad farm in SH.
Also, get all the Beach Hideaways to increase your XP by 100%.

Hold off on properties and designing, other than houses or KEMs, till you are more secure and try to start farming 8 to 12 KEMs…build up both till you see your cash increasing rather than staying level. Safi has posted a lot of info on the “ideal number of KEMs” to farm for wherever you are in the game.

If you want to splurge, buy characters or combos from the vault, but don’t invest in stand alone buildings unless they increase your XP%.

Keep increasing your XP% and earnings until you get to a 300% bonus, then buy the XP collider and start using your donuts to run it 24/7.

Once the collider is on full time, your game will advance pretty quickly and you can do more discretionary spending.

      That’s all I got..good luck.😁

  5. My first day with my 2nd Springfield, feels weird yet exciting to be back at the start again. I’m up to level 8 already.

  6. Any predictions on what the Halloween event could be about?

  7. I’ve got only a few major wishes to enhance the game’s functionality:

    – A collect-all button, clearing all finished jobs and money from buildings at once. The IRS is helping, but it still is time consuming nowadays.
    – A way to transfer money, donuts and in-game items to a neighbor.
    – A search function or quicker scroll mode for the long lists in Inventory and Census.
    – Allow the Office of Unemplyment to send characters on jobs after reaching the minimum number of characters required for an active task.

  8. So this Sunday is the 30th Season Premier of the Simpsons. We’re just finishing a mini Superheroes Event. And…Gal Gadot (the new Wonder Woman) is a guest star on the Simpsons. Coincidence???? Will we have Wonder Woman in our tiny little Springfields???

    Tune in next time…

  9. Just bring autumn ASAP, time to change the summerish bright colours into more warm ones

  10. Can I have 2 world’s on one device by having 2 different EA accounts or do I need to install the game in a second device?

  11. Oh, grEAt EA!!! 😂 Here is my wish list:

Please give me a Simpsons ATM, where I can just put all my in game cash in, and have it spit out sprinkles, along the lines of what I get from farming. Charge me 1000 donuts to buy, that’s fine, to make sure I did the work to do it. Just please give me that ATM!

Please after we hit level 939, take away the 1, 2, or 3 donut option abs just automatically have me level up, every time I bypass the xp bar. It was cute in the beginning, but after so many years, this has started to feel better, if I could automatically just have three donuts added to my stash, when I just fill the xp line.

Please let me just add on the xp bonus percentages onto the bar, so I can skip adding all these items into my town. I love the Mystery Boxes. I clued into that’s how you helped us complete all the levels. But I think I have several hundred news vans now, and a lot of buildings I love are in storage to keep my item levels lower. Please help me keep your awesome designs better out in my town.

Please let me sell the lard lads! I have over 500 of them, after Mystery Boxing for do long. Or let me give them to a neighbour. Presents for the newbies. It’s a good thing!

Please let me store characters and their associated buildings separately. I want a pretty Springfield. I really want to store stuff I dislike more. Better yet, let me keep the character and sell their buildings. It’s worth losing a few percentage points. I’m a completiomist though, and want to keep the character.

Please let me sell stuff that I make and that there will never be a bonus percentage on. Excess monorail tracks, I’m looking at you!

Please let building tasks work from storage, and also bonus percentages! I want a pretty Springfield! I want to keep only stuff I love out. 😄❤️

Please give us an option to buy land tokens with in game cash. Understand land tokens help the newbies. Please let us dedicated long term players, finish our Springfield’s how we want to!

Think that’s it for now. Still here and dedicated. Just please up these things so I love this game even more!

Also, when I changed screens, it used to just give me all my donuts from all the do points and cash I had available. I get all my cash, and am missing donuts. Please give me all my donuts like you used to.
