Yesterday morning the Treehouse of Horror XXIX teaser hit our games! Fortune Tellers and Tents arrived to maybe give us a sneak peek at what the next event will bring to TSTO. Of course, if you didn’t spend a few donuts (90 to be exact) on the Fortune Teller it was a pretty short teaser. Just one free item (the tent) and one part to the questline.
Now if you did drop the Sprinkles for the Fortune Teller you’ll see a longer questline and a separate one for the Fortune Teller. So let’s take a look at the full dialogue version for both of those questlines and see if either predict the future…
Fortune Favors the Bald Pt. 1
Lisa starts
Lisa: Dad, why are you surrounded by all these tiny slips of paper?
Homer: I’ve been eating fortune cookies, and they’re all coming true! Check out this one: “You will eat too many Chinese pastries.”
Lisa: These are eerily accurate. “A young man will show you disrespect.”
Bart: Hey, fatso, what’s with all the scraps? You eat a newspaper?

Homer: Something strange is going on in this town, and it’s time to consult a trustworthy expert. A garlic-smelling old woman who lives in a tent.

Fortune Teller: I see dark and terrible danger in your future.
Homer: You know, if I was as hideous as you and lived in a tent, I’d try being more positive!

Fortune Teller: Now, we’re going to play a game called “Krusty Stops Making Stupid Comments and Just Listens”.
Krusty: Now where have I heard that before? Wait, are you one of my ex-wives?

Fortune Teller: The tarot cards have spoken. Soon you will be causing people great misery in the night.
Krusty: They’re making me host of “The Tonight Show”? All right!

Ned: Sorry about that. I’m just excited to denounce this witch for her satanic practices.
Homer: *laugh* I agree, her prices are devilishly high.
Fortune Teller: Quiet, tubby. You’re destined to die alone with a chicken wing in your hand.
Homer: Not in my mouth?! How awful.

Fortune Teller: Okay, sometimes I give the future a helping hand. But I really can foretell it! I’ll prove it to you. I’ll predict my own fortune.

Moe: Even I’m not falling for that one, and I bought a potion from a magazine that’s ‘sposed to make me attractive to women. So far all it does is bring every raccoon in the tri-county area.

Fortune Teller: Wow, one minute I’m the most popular destination in town, next minute no one will even talk to me.
Ralph: I’ll talk to you! My other friend had to go home.
Fortune Teller: You mean that roadkill possum you were talking to? A crow flew off with it. What the heck, I’lI give you a free reading. Hm. Stay clear of roads or you might get to spend time with crows too. I don’t know how much more of this I can take.

I’m on the final task for the fortune teller but, neither her or frink have the go on a tropical vacation 24hr take when I click on them in the task bar.
I can not clear the Miss Fortune Pt. 5 task. Neither the fortune teller or Frink shows a vacation task. I tried storing the fortune teller, but it did not help. Any suggestions?
Ditto. I tried checking for something building related, too… I even tried the airport, but no dice. I wouldnt mind an obvious teaser task, but it is frustrating when it seems they should just be able to do it and i can’t tell what we are waiting for – or appears to be a glitch.
I was able to finally clear the task by using the normal 24 hour tasks for both characters.
Love the fortune teller, and I’m hoping we have Krusty turning into “it,” revisiting Stephen King. Who didn’t love “The Shinning?”
Im done with The Fortune Teller Questline but when i restart the App something is triggering The Fallout Boy Questline but i don’t have Fallout Boy in my Superheroes Collection. Its the last Premium char im missing. Maybe this is another Bug.

I just got part 2 of the questline (Fortune Favours the Bald) today which wanted Homer to “Fear for the Future” at the tent and I don’t have the Fortune Teller in my game. It could be that part 3 and 4 comes tomorrow and Saturday if EA are deciding to release each quest part once a day.

i suddenly moved on from the homer quest [pt 2] to the krusty quest [pt 3] without buying the fortune teller. … it this a glitch?! i also don’t have finch or the fortune teller and i’m wondering if i’ll need them to continue next week.
Yes. Me too – I noticed that my son’s game had progressed to the next parts of the quest so I asked him if he’d spent donuts. “No”. And when I launched my game it started the quest…
With the whole scary clown wave of last year and movies like the It remakes becoming very popular, I predict some kind of Clown College and Evil clown mashup!
Either an Evil Krusty starts a clown college to start a clan of evil clowns or it’s about Krusty and the clown community suffering from the Clown fright. Just my ideas 🙂
Or could be completely separate because we’ve had a lot of Krusty this year 😀

Is anyone else experiencing a glitched out Fortune Teller Shop, the building that came with the ghost of Maude Flanders? I’ve been in contact with EA, but so far nothing has helped.
Glitched for me as well. Building can’t be selected, shows just as a repeated image of fortune tellers face.
Yes i had that too. It has been compressed into a single square (one tiny square that is at the side of the road) find it and click the rotate button. Bam, it’s back!. Truely annoying.

Any clue as to where the tiny square might be? I’ve got a floating fortune tellers head and many glitched characters and pieces where I’m rather sure my building should be? TIA
Yup, I contacted EA, the building is still there and you can collect income, there is a glitch only for those who placed it near the mountain line in the springfield portion of the game (so I have noticed).
I got the above mission & also a mission to send Krusty to Jewish Heaven (since I bought that with sprinkles). A little past the holiday for that, so one heck of a delay.
I just got a questline for Christmas elves…. not sure I even have them…

I will agree that 90 sprinkles for a Premium Character is better than 300 (we also don’t have enough Female Springfield Characters) ….. but I still don’t feel the Fortune Teller is going to help with the Halloween Event (or EA would be selling her as a necessary benefit).
We have had Springfield Characters shape-shift before (remember Werewolf Ned Flanders? lol). Now I wonder if Krusty the Clown is going to be cursed (will he shape-shift into a Monster? Or will a shape-shift pantless Homer Simpson scare away trick or treaters? Or will Milhouse shape-shift to get even will bullies?).
And here I was thinking that this year’s Treehouse of Horror would give us a clue about this year’s Halloween Event (ie Invasion of the Body Snatchers theme?). I guess it’s back to Kem Farming until next week reveals something (such as why we have two different dwellings for a Fortune Teller (lol).
So, I have not bought the Fortune Teller, and the tent completed its build yesterday morning. Today Fortune Favors the Bald Pt. 2 started when I switched devices. I thought I accidentally bought her, but I am 1 donut shy and she is still in the store. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But my quests have been super glitchy this week. Like getting dialogue for the next part of a quest line and then the job not opening (all the characters needed free at the time). No of the usual tricks would work, then after a few random jobs the dialogue would pop again, but this time the job activates.
Same thing has happened to me. Quest part 2 started, but I haven’t bought the fortune teller and she is still in the store.
Looks like the teaser gives us another bit of quest today (Thursday) *without* buying the fortune teller. A little dialog & then Homer to the tent to “fear for the future.” 🙂
Thanks for the post. So the taster lasts about a day and now we have to wait another 6 days for the main course? I am feeling hungry already.
I don’t have the fortune teller but the questline still moved to part 2. It told me to make Homer fear of the fortune. Is it a glitch ? Or is something wrong with my game?

Just opened the game and it started the second part for me without buying the fortube teller. I have Homer’s 4-hour quest of fearing the future.

I love Halloween so this was an autobuy for me.
Instant buy for me. 90 Donuts is quite cheap for a premium character in my opinion, considering Sarah Wiggum as well as Scratchy were 300 Donuts each.
She also comes with a decent animation and is a female character which SF doesn’t have enough of. Also, what is the purpose of a fortune teller’s tent without a fortune teller? 😉
Absolutely. My rationale exactly for buying her at the first opportunity. I hope a Maude character is available during the upcoming event…please EA!
Last time i bought the Caman Island banker guy thinking he would be a premium character in the upcoming event. Not so much. Its ok….i like him but im not falling for that crap again. Lol. Fool me once…..😁

I finally got it! However, there’s something glitchy going on in my game, there’s an area that has different pieces of different characters and it won’t go away… I hope when we get the Halloween update it’ll fix itself!

Good Morning Alissa! I about lost my mind (not that I hadn’t lost most of it already) before I figured out that without the Fortune Teller it’s only a 1 part quest. Will you be able to put up a “Should I buy?” post soon? TBH, I usually don’t read the full dialogue of quests because I don’t want to spoil it lol. I’m guessing this character probably falls into the “If you like it, get it” thing lol.
For some reason, the final task of the superheroes mini event is still showing in my game but I can’t complete it. Anybody else having this issue?

Oh my gosh! I depend on those SIB posts so much!! 😂. I’ve been going back and forth about the fortune teller but feel less stressed now that I know it’s a “meh” purchase.
lol it’s not even a meh, it’s a don’t buy it and save your donuts purchase. But the SIB will be up at 330 ET today, just have a few things I need to finish on it
