Some exciting news…
We’ve received the content package for the next event from EA! Which means…we can share some details in advance with you guys! Remember, we’re all under NDA, so please bear with us as we can’t share EVERYTHING we know until EA tells us we can (which is usually how we operate anyway). But we have the green light to release some basic info about the next event.
So no more guessing, we now know WHEN the next event will start and WHAT the next event will cover! Pretty exciting stuff huh?
So I know there are a bunch of you who like to remain spoiler free (and this, to me, will not violate our spoiler-free policy as this is information provided to us directly from EA. They’re giving us the go-ahead to share…) I’ll post the WHAT below the fold. However, I will say the next event will start (as we predicted earlier this week) on Wednesday, October 3rd. And if they follow the trend of the last few events, it’s likely the event will hit the app store Tuesday October 2nd but not officially launch until Wednesday. So keep in mind you may see it in the app store before it’s actually live in game to play…

WARNING SPOILERS BELOW
Well, we all know (unless you live under a rock) the next event will be the annual Treehouse of Horror (Halloween) event. So no real surprise there. However, here’s a look at the new Splash Screen…
Looks like we’re back to traditional Halloween characters! No more Harry Potter spoofs! Looks like some scary stuff is going on in Springfield…although sadly, for some of you, it does not look like we’ll be seeing any scary clowns..
And of course there will be a few Simpsons twists and turns along the way!
We can also tell you that it will have an auto start prompt, so no worries about keeping anyone free to get the event going. And this should be available to ALL TSTO players as long as you’ve completed the basic tutorial (Level 5).
Here’s a little more…
-Like all events, this one will be broken into 3 Acts, with each Act running 2 weeks. So this will be a 6-week total event, running until November 14th. This is pretty predicable given how the weeks pan out for the rest of the year. This will end, we’ll see a 2 week Thanksgiving Mini-Event right after, then a teaser for Christmas and Christmas will likely launch right around Dec 5th.
-Loads of Halloween characters and decorations will be coming to Springfield. So those looking to “spook” things up will see that….
-Premium content will be plenty…old and new. There will be Mystery Boxes to tempt you, as well as returning content to buy directly with donuts.
-Another spend cash for donuts item will appear..although I don’t think you’ll be happy with the price point (or the item offered).
-Gil will likely make an appearance (he always does). And so far i’m meh on what he’ll be offering (but don’t forget…I hate Halloween so that could be why I’m meh)
-Traditional Crafting will be returning…
-There will be land tokens.
-Keep Homer, Lisa, Bart, Marge, Flanders, Grampa, Willie, Mr. Burns, Milhouse and Chief Wiggum available, as they’ll be needed to complete event tasks… (ie earn event currency)
Overall it will be a pretty standard 6-week event, and fairly traditional Halloween (thankfully). A few element changes will be added, but it’s still 3 Acts and 6 weeks. If you like Halloween, this is the event for you.
In any event, be ready, Wednesday, October 3rd for things to get a little spooky in Springfield!

If we don’t get the last 40 relics for act 1 do we lose out on getting the prize or will it continue through act 2 and 3??…new to TSTO got it about a month or less but hooked haven’t even touched my PS4 😩..already lvl 103 #nolife lol😅

I’m going to assume those Tappers (such as me) who already have Dracula will have a head start vs those who don’t (EA couldn’t be stupid enough to offer up a 2nd Dracula Character, or could they? 😂 )
I’m liking the traditional Monsters (Vampires, Werewolves, Mummies, Frankenstein Monsters) vs last year – you can say Halloween and Christmas are my favorite TSTO Events (and yep I Kem Farmed to get stuff)! 😀
There are quite a few Halloween related Character Skins and Buildings I missed out on, so let’s see if they return at Discount from the Vault. I can’t say I would be interested in the Gil Deal (ie it was nice to finally get Sarah Wiggum, but I’m not spending 300 sprinkles again!), nor the Spend $ for Donuts with Character deal (it has to be worth it!), but I will wait and see. 🤔
I’m on the fence with regards to Crafting (it was nice to spend Simpsons $ on what you wanted in the last Event, Crafting seemed a forced Grind I lost interest in over time). I will wait to see what returns (fences, street lamps) – but wouldn’t it be nice if we could sell off what’s been stored away from prior years? 🤷🏼♂️

I saw an add somewhere, maybe Facebook, Halloween 2013 advertising this game and I’ve been hooked since. Love Halloween!

I hope they *finally* offer her cauldron separate so I can at last buy it for my Witch Marge. It’s been years now that I haven’t been able to use all her tasks.
NOTE to everyone: Never buy a Simpson’s character without their special “item” that completes all their tasks, because you’ll wait many years (if ever) before they are *ever* offered again separate.
Witch Marge is one of the Character Skins, along with Vampire Montgomery Burns, I still need to obtain …. Werewolf Ned Flanders still makes me laugh 😂

Quimby had a task this morning. … look through comics for evil plans. Was not in my task bar. I fear for glitches in next event.

Its a daily challenge, that i believe earns you a donut
Fear not: that’s almost certainly the daily challenge. Click the icon in the top right of your screen, and you’ll almost certainly see that you need to send five villains to do that task in order to earn one or three donuts. (Of course, that’s just an educated guess.)
Speaking of which… it may actually be worth it to hold off on that task, so that you can swap out the challenge for one which earns event currency, tomorrow. Just a thought.
I tried that with the last event…it only works after the event has started (between acts). Anything offered before the event starts won’t change. But…you can wait to go into your game tomorrow until after 10am EST and make sure the update loads before you open the game. You should then have a Wednesday challenge that pays event currency. 😁
Just to circle back on this discussion: I can now confirm with certainty that manually “X”ing out my old donut task and my old cash task did indeed convert both of them over to event currency tasks.

I foretell that lion will be the prize of the 1 act, vampire – 2, and mommy – 3.
There will be return content – some other mommies that I remember seeing in my neighbors’ towns, hopefully, zombies npc from past events, some cemeteries… (*dreamingly rollling eyes to the sky… n.n)

Wait, returning stuff I can buy outright? Not just mystery boxes? That might be the most exciting part of this whole post to me. I hate the crapshoot of the mystery box. Sure there are good deals but I always end up spending so much more on things I didn’t want trying to get the one I did.
Like crafting too, but not the leveling up. Halloween? Mmmmh! I guess ok. Saving sprinklies for xmas, as I will be away for the whole event and will have to play during the night!
Everyone should probably be waiting until Wednesday to cash in their daily tasks (so you can get event currency as a reward)
No it’s not good advice before the event starts. Everyone freaks out because they don’t auto change over. You have to physically x out each one to convert to game currency and you can only x out one per day
I don’t necessarily agree; I think it can be very useful advice, for those who are patient and understand the nature of the game. The challenges that don’t match your objectives aren’t going to just vanish into the ether; they’ll sit idly by until you either fulfill them or swap them out. So even if you can only swap out one per day, that could potentially give you an added boost each day for the first three days of an event. For players who don’t play as frequently as some of us hardcore addicts, and who maybe can’t afford to toss a boatload of donuts at the event currency earning premiums, the little boost from those daily challenges could very well make a big difference in how far they get on the prize track.
Strike that — it would only be the first two days, since you can only hold two tasks in reserve prior to the event. I still stand by my point, however.
Yes, but when you sit on my end and have people telling you “IT DIDN’T WORK!” “THE WORLD IS ENDING!” “THIS GAME IS STUPID” you kinda don’t give advice that’s not instant gratification…
I do indeed understand your dilemma… nevertheless, I don’t think that makes the advice bad, in-and-of-itself; the advice just needs to be complete, including directions to be patient.
Besides, as you well know, there are *always* a few immature kids in the forums, who somehow think the world is coming to an end for one reason or another — sometimes even in the complete absence of proffered advice. (Personally, I sometimes think of it as the “Bulldog personality”; for those who’re unfamiliar with the reference, just Google “Bulldog this stinks”.) But even as annoying and tiresome as they are, we can’t very well let the Bulldogs of the world spoil *our* fun, can we?
I’m waiting to x out a couple SH related daily challenges myself that I have no interest in doing in the first place. I usually x out things that aren’t donuts, honestly, so I’m good with event currency tomorrow.
I’m saving mine. Unlike in event it Not for granted we can save it. Some pretty easy to do and don’t have an option to X out if we X out before. Such as income, etc.
Is there any way to tell how many land tokens you’ve accrued?
Go into land purchasing view and click on one of the spaces that requires a land piece to purchase it. You will then be able to see how many free land tiles you have.
It tells you when you attempt to buy a piece of land. You can back out after that, so you dont have to buy it.
There is. Try to purchase a new square. It will show you your options. If you only see cash, you have zero tokens.
When you choose a section of land to purchase a window will pop up asking if you’d like to buy it or use a Free Land Token. At the top of that window you will see how many tokens you currently have.
Tap on any land tile you haven’t bought yet and you will see the number you have in the screen that pops up.
You must be a fortune teller because I was just about to ask Magic 8 Ball when the next event would start .

yay! halloween event!!!!….still can’t login, 6 days now 🙁 i wanted to clear up space and do redesigns this past week but as per normal before each event, i get the login error that has lasted until midway through the first week of the previous events. haven’t bothered contacting EA because they offer the same advice and just ask for time to resolve the issue. there’s nothing else to be done now that i’ve reinstalled the game, changed password, reset phone, cleared 688mb to add to my already free space of 37gb 😂…… oh dear, i do wish they’d take the game offline
I had a lot of issues signing in lately due to EA’s server issues. What worked for me was resetting my password on a computer, logging into the website, then logging into the app. I don’t know why it worked, it just did. (If you try and it doesn’t work, I’m sorry 🙁 .)
I had to delete and reinstall the game to fix that error when it appeared in my game.
Any idea if the kids will be able to dress up/go trick or treating this year?? That’s about the only thing this Halloween-hater cares for in this event and it’s been missing for too long.

I hope this isn’t going to be another send the same 4 characters on the same 4 hour task every 4 hours for the next month grindfest like the prior events have been. At least some diversity or gameplay would be nice. Alternate characters needed, vary task durations, figure out what actions generate the best return, strategize which chars should fight which bosses…

Or at least some side quests not necessary for completing the event, just to entertain us… They could use rarely used characters (regular from higher levels, or special from older events) instead of the same 10 used all the time…

One of the thing’s that I love about the Halloween Event each year is that it’s the 1 of only 2 time’s that change’s are made to the environment. ^^ If someone want’s me to list them then I will.

YES! I really missed crafting in the last event. Not the tediousness, but the eventjust seemed VERY lacking in decorations. Events with crafting typically have far more decorations available. And that’s what I like. 🙂 (yes I know nobody else likes crafting, and that’s ok. I’m not saying anyone is wrong, just voicing my opinion that I’m happy for more items.)

I like crafting too, but I really miss being able to craft what we wanted instead of having to leavel up. I end up with so much useless junk then.
