Gil’s Latest Gimmick: Details and Should You Buy the Devil and Hellscape

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Looks like Gil’s back in Springfield.  He returned to Springfield late last week, naturally with another ‘deal” for us.  What’s the latest gimmick he’s peddling? Well this time around he’s finally done it, he’s finally made a deal for the Devil.

So let’s break down the details of this latest offer and determine if you should spend your donuts to bring this demon to Springfield….

So when you first get into Springfield you’ll see Gil waving his arms around…just begging you to tap on him…

If you tap on him you’ll see…

Gil: You’ll never guess my luck!  I was sleeping in a boxcar when the train derailed.  Next thing I know, I’m down in Hell. Well, sir, turns out he was looking for an advance man to help market his Devilish transactions on Earth. So what do you say?  Buy my devil and he’ll make you a Hell of a good deal.

At which point you’ll see his latest gimmick…

If you refuse…

Gil: You couldn’t do me this solid?  You’re literally sending me to Hell.

If you accept…

Gil:  Thanks, pal, you made the right choice! Listen, if the Devil offers you a deal…
Take it!  Best decision I ever made.

Now real quick because…if you refuse the offer will go back in the store.  It will be there…

This Deal Ends October 18th

(interesting to note, even though we get the advanced information from EA there can still be errors with it.  Point…they told us Gil was coming on the 19th…the day AFTER he leaves. 🤷‍♀️ Go figure.)

And now for the part, you’ve all been waiting for…the Should I Buy…

This Deal Ends October 18th

-Voiced

Cons
-Too expensive for this particular character/building combo

Pro or Con Depending on Who You Are/How You Play:
-Visual tasks are 4 and 12hrs
-It’s the Devil.

Final Thought
Premium:
Personally I don’t think this is worth 199 donuts, but it does help with the event and is a fairly standard premium combo (despite the price tag).  So if you’re a premium player and really like this you mine as well pick it up.

Freemium:
Pass. Not worth 199 donuts if you’re a freemium player (or even a casual farmer)

Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as a premium player, I don’t think I’ll be taking this deal.  But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Remember, there’s a good chance this may come back in a future Mystery Box.  Look at the Burns Dragon from last year.  That was 199 donuts last Halloween and now it’s in the Magical Mystery Box for 45 donuts.  So you’re rolling the dice either way with this one.  If you buy it there’s a good chance it’ll come back at a much lower price and you’ll be mad about it, if you don’t buy it and want it there’s always a chance it may not come back.  So the gamble is up to you to take…

Here’s a look at his tasks…

Devil’s Permanent Tasks:

Task Length Earns Location
Play the Violin 1hr $105, 26xp Various Bars in Springfield
Enjoy a Breath of Fresh Air 4hrs $260, 70xp* Outside/Visual
Go Back to Hell 8hrs $420, 105xp Hellscape
Collect Souls 12hrs $600, 150xp* Outside/Visual
Invent New Forms of Torture 24hrs $1000, 225xp Hellscape

During the event his 4 and 12 hour tasks will pay out event currency.  After the event they’ll revert back to in-game cash.

And because this is the complete details on the Gil Deal, here’s the Turbo Tappin’ Version of his questline…

(BUT the questline earns event currency but not Pickaxes.  Use the Devil to earn Pickaxes and save the questline for later)

  1. Couldn’t resist.
(I wish playing the violin was also a visual task.)

  2. Wasn’t going to spend the donuts, then saw a use for Hell in a neighbor’s town that inspired me to finally build the Escalator to Nowhere…

  3. 😈Cinnamon! Cinnamon!! Cinnamon!!!😈

  4. I just needed the devil in Springfield. Apart of that, I was looking for something that fits to the Hellementary School since last halloween.

  5. Since I have Jesus and Buddha I figured why not the other end of the spectrum!

  6. I went ahead and picked him up, simply because I had the donuts to spare… but honestly, I think Flanders as the devil is far more amusing than this Moe-styled character. (Admittedly, it probably also helps that I’ve actually seen the Flanders episode; I suppose I’ll have to keep an eye out for the WDTCF, so I can get a better notion of this version’s personality.)
