Should I Spend Donuts On Tween Lit Inc and Slick?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Halloween is back in Springfield!  Yes, the water is murky, the screen is slightly darker, monsters and minions are roaming our towns…is there anything better than Halloween in our pocket-sized towns?  Of course, by now, we all know that a new event means a new excuse for EA to fill our stores with limited-time premium items to tempt us.

As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add Tween Lit Inc and Slick to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this Tween duo to your town…

Building/Decoration: Tween Lit Inc
Character: Slick
Donut Cost: 150 Donuts
Size:
8×10
Earns:
$135, 15xp/4hrs
Conform-O-Meter:
Consumerism +10
Can Be Placed:
grass|pavement|boardwalk|pier|dirt|Krustyland Road

Leaves stores November 14th

Pros
-Comes with a questline
-Will Use Tween Lit Inc for tasks
-Tween Lit Inc is animated when in use, lights turn on

Cons
-Not voiced
-Will not help with the event, no task at Holy Forge no currency earning tasks

Helpful Tip:
Part 2 of his questline….while Slick will NOT earn event currency the kids required to send for part 2 WILL earn event currency.  So when you reach part 2 of his questline DO NOT DO SLICK’S TASK. Just let me roam idle around Springfield.  But send the kids over and over again on the task, this will allow you to earn massive amounts of event currency (until it’s patched that is).
If you miss it on Part 2, it’s available again for Part 3.

Final Thought
Premium:
This is your standard premium combo these days.  Random character and building for 150 donuts.  Although in this case (Aside from the questline tip) this character adds no benefit for the event itself.  So if you like Slick and the look of the building, pick it up…otherwise pass.

Freemium:
I’d pass on this one.  Save your donuts for better characters, or even just ones that help with the event.

Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as a premium player, I’m on the fence (I like the look of the building, but that’s about it).  But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Here’s a look at his tasks…

Slick’s Permanent Tasks:

Task Length Earns Location
Obsess Over Followers 1hr $105, 26xp Tween Lit Inc
Have the Book Thrown At Him 4hrs $260, 70xp* Outside/Visual
Try Out Ascot Ties 8hrs $420, 105xp Outside/Visual
Secretly Write Fan Fiction 12hrs $600, 150xp* Tween Lit Inc
Admire His Brilliance 24hrs $1000, 225xp Tween Lit Inc

What are your thoughts on Slick and Tween Lit Inc?  Will you be spending the donuts to bring it to your Springfield? Did you already?  Why or why not?  Where have you placed it in your town?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. still kicking myself that I missed out on this – usually I am pretty good at spotting opportunities like that, but this time I just wanted to finish the quest line, since it was one of the few you could actually do without keeping anyone from earning pick axes… D’oh!

  2. I was able to unlock She-Wolf earlier this (Monday) morning, and it was all thanks to sending my 46+ Springfield kids on their “Write A Novel” job every 8 hours (approximately). Of course the Pickaxe jobs, Old Ruins Dig Site, and the Monster Minions did help immensely.

I think that the reason why reason EA has not removed the exploit that is created by Part 2 of Slick’s questline is because they either have not yet discovered that there is an exploit, or they are purposely allowing the exploit to continue for any number of reasons, including making it easier for players to earn event currency needed the prize tracks, possibly to encourage players to spend donuts on getting pickaxes needed for the dig site, since the odds of earning enough relics for all of the dig site prizes in as few moves as one move per relic (or maybe it’s one relic per move) are not good. Also, EA may be banking on most players not finding out about the exploit until after it is too late for them to be able to take advantage of the exploit.

  3. Will there be an updated SIB on the scary dock/Blinky monster? And the monsters mansion?

  4. Ok now I’m confused….. Once the whole Slick line is complete, do the kids stop earning skins/furs? Mine certainly have.

Still beating myself up over missing out on the exploit !

  5. Does anyone know if it’s easy to change ur nick in the game without loosing your town and friends?

  6. Tempting as the avid reader of YA I am to this day, but this close to black Friday and Christmas (aka my two big donut expenditures every year), I’m gonna pass. The exploit would be nice but I’m already basically finished Monday on the calendar so I’m not worried about finishing. Don’t want to get to the Christmas event and wish I had that 150 for something, and I can’t see me making enough to pay it off in bonuts. I’ve never gotten more than 4 or 5 rounds even when they gave us early access to bonuts, and that’s a tenth of the way to paying it off.

    • Well…depending on how many kids u have, the price will reduce itself by a lot. Just to compare. I’m 30k event currency away from last prize of act II. We have more than ten days on this act. This will be a massive amount of bonuts, not to mention the once I got in act I already. I have 50+ kids which is 18k event currency every 8 hrs. This alone brings 1 1/2 rounds of bonuts per day (depending on my will to earn them 😉 ). If they don’t fix it in act III I will have reduced the package price to sth below 90 donuts.

  7. I have already finished act 2 today exploiting this building. I also had 1200+ pickaxes and 3 daily challenges saved. I also have the Devil, Nos, and the Werewolf. I already have over 300 pickaxes saved for act 3. ELEVEN days of bonuts!!!

  8. An update loaded earlier tonight — I hope it’s not a patch for the exploit, since I’m close to dropping the sprinkles on this for that reason. Otherwise I’d get Wolfman. Can anyone confirm it’s still working?

    • I saw the update as well, and am still sending those kids to the Tween Lit Inc building for 8 hour tasks and getting event currency.

  9. I bought it for the tip, but it’s a bit of a pain to chase all those kids down to do the quest again once done.

    • I have placed my building far, far away from any other buildings. That way I can tap on them as they are walking back to my town.

    • I built a road right out front of the building, with no other roads nearby. They tend to gather on the nearest road, though a few still wander. I also have all other non-event related characters on a 24 hour cycle that doesn’t mature at the same time these come up(7am and 5pm vs 9ish for the 24hr cycle.) So I can just tap their picture in the upper left and then send them on the task.

    • Put the building in a far away corner, circle with a road. Do different cycles. It will help you control the kids scattering away from it and you will only tap on it when you are ready for a massive influx of event currency (mainly tip for bonuts time).

    • Place it on a deserted place (if you have the land) and build a road around it. They tend to stay on that road for a while. Some do escape tho

  10. You guys certainly have a whole lot of kids !!!
I only have about 30 I send on the repeat tasks, still worth it though !

  11. Well I farmed the doughnuts, I suppose I could actually spend them….

  12. Ugh….. I wish I waited a day before pulling the trigger on this. Thought I saw a couple of posts saying this helped a lot with event currency. Oh well, live and learn!

  13. They just did an update – could someone let me know if this still works this evening (posted 3:30pm CST)

  14. And Also another thing when it comes to sending the kids over & over again to collect the event currency: there’s a total of 52 Kids/Youngsters that you can send to collect the event currency. If you have 52 kids, you would be able to earn 18,720 for event currency & 5,460 for XP. The reason why I know that is because I have 52 kids. And altogether, I have like 369 characters total. 😀

  15. Not Tween Lit related but rather Act 2 crafting…

The Mob Crowd is different from other “crowds” in the game – it can be placed DIRECTLY in the middle of the cobblestone roads (premium purchase).

So now we can have a mob marching down straight to the Dracu-La-La land using the cobblestone roads.

  16. Off topic…was looking for a place to put the impossible tower with the water monster tower and discovered it would go on squiddy tiles.
2 tiles in the back and 4 in the front, with some pieces from the zoo event and a few islands to pull it together…

  17. Oh crap. I bought him thinking that I would be able to send the kids, but I didn’t know that it wouldn’t work if you do the part two task… which, of course I did already. That was a waste of donuts.

  18. I currently have 14 tasks waiting to be done from this event, because the characters needed are earing pickaxes. Not sure if I’ll have enough time to complete them before the next event starts! Trying not to moan though, as the continued gameplay is what I love about this game. What other game keeps your attention like this one?

    • I have 16 tasks waiting. Don’t even know where the last one came from

    • You could also extend that commentary to the TV series itself, in that with a show which has been playing for 29 years (and counting!) as the source material, it’s easy to speculate that TSTO probably *still* has significant untapped potential, the likes of which no other game could possibly match.

(Of course, if Fox makes the colossally blunderific move of cancelling The Simpsons at some point, all bets could very well be off for TSTO’s longevity, as well… so let’s hope they don’t do that.)

  19. I don’t see why they would patch this. It’s not a glitch. It has always been that when it’s a two task quest you could always send people to the task until the other task has been completed.

    • I know it’s not a glitch but it’s an exploit. Usually exploits to earning event currency get corrected…

      • It would be a shame if they had to fundamentally change the way double tasks are done in order to accomplish that. I hope they just take note and not make the mistake of it being an 8 hr high earning job the next time.

      • Besides, we should get a little exploit after that whole discount boatload donut fiasco. Am i right? 🤪😝😜😝🧐😬

  20. Hmm….I’m on the fence on this one! Don’t care about the character either way (don’t have any clue who he is), but the kids earning event currency is intriguing. Which kids have tasks for Part 2 and Part 3? Thanks!

    • Only kid I have that doesn’t earn is Adil, all others (47 of them) are earning 360 furs every 8 hours. I’m only collecting twice a day, but that’s still a whopping extra 33,840 furs a day. Nothing else in this event can touch this amount of currency income, and it will bring in bonuts like mad (3 times a day) after the prize track is complete. Should pretty much pay for itself by the end of the event if it continues into Act 3👍👍🎃.

      • Sorry, correction…at 23,000 needed for bonuts, should be able to get two rounds per day (with other furs coming in from daily tasks, digsite, and tappables).

  21. I liked the building enough so picked him up and was an early adopter of the exploit. Whoop! Working in She Wolf now.

  22. I wonder if EA did the maths on this, because with the part 2 quest you can race thru the thoh quest. Not that i really need it but it allows me to relax a bit

  23. Even without the repeatable use of the kids’ tasks, a single run through his questline still brings in a massive amount of event currency, since you can send *all* of the kids on the task.

  24. I love the building. Had the perfect spot for it. I don’t let him roam free. I use his 12 hr task so he’s earning something but it is making the main task line fly by. I’ll be done with the main questline in 2 days thanks to this, then it’s all bonuts until act 3.

    • I do exactly the same repeatedly sending him on the 12hr task at the building which also comes with the added benefit that if you click on his task in the quests book it will instantly jump you to building so you can release and resend all of the kids.

    • Keep using the kids through the bonuts. Worth one bonut each day to me!
