Treehouse of Horror XXIX – Act 2 Prize Guide – She-Wolf

So you knew I was going to do some research.  Right?

I mean yes…I know that She-Wolf had a brief appearance in the THOH XX…really brief.  But, I was curious if there have ever been any Female Werewolves in the movies.  Lon Cheney Jr. was truly the most memorable from my youth.  But the male versions show up all of the time in horror movies…with no memorable females.

And let’s face it…the TSTO version looks pretty dated. I mean, where does she shop…1955 with June Cleaver? “Hey…She-Wolf…it’s 1955, she wants her dress back!” 

But, as it turns out…there are a handful of Female Werewolf movies…and one in particular looks hilariously scary…for all of the wrong reasons.

Oh. And I’ll also cover the details of She-Wolf in our games. Promise!

So…the five that popped up were:

An American Werewolf in Paris (1997)
An American man unwittingly gets involved with French werewolves who have developed a serum allowing them to transform at will.

Ginger Snaps (2000)
Two death-obsessed sisters, outcasts in their suburban neighborhood,  must deal with the tragic consequences when one of them is bitten by a  deadly werewolf.

The Howling (1981)
After a bizarre and near fatal encounter with a serial killer, a  television newswoman is sent to a remote mountain resort whose residents  may not be what they seem.

Cursed (2005)
A werewolf loose in Los Angeles changes the lives of three young adults,  who, after being mauled by the beast, learn they must kill their  attacker if they hope to change their fate to avoid becoming werewolves  too.

Trick ‘r Treat (2007)
Five interwoven stories that occur on Halloween: An everyday high school  principal has a secret life as a serial killer; a college virgin might  have just met the guy for her; a group of teenagers pull a mean prank; a  woman who loathes the night has to contend with her holiday-obsessed  husband; and a mean old man meets his match with a demonic, supernatural  trick-or-treater.

Now…I remembered almost all of these. In fact, I thought American Werewolf in Paris was great! I am also a fan of Warren Zevon’s “Werewolves of London.”  Such great lyrics.

But the one that looked the silliest, also had a redux…in the version of  Ginger Snaps II (original name or what?).  It gets a surprisingly high meta-score on IMDB (80), even with this description!

Ginger’s sister Brigitte, now a werewolf herself, must try to find a cure for her blood lust before the next full moon while hiding out in a rehab clinic from a relentless werewolf.

Sorry. Pass.

But I was happy to get She-Wolf. Every wolf needs a mate…and I bought the Wolfman. So…it only made sense.

She’s a full character…and the moon must always be full in Springfield…because she has no “other version” of herself.

Squeaky Voice Teen: You could have just told me that without attacking me and pinning me down.
She-Wolf: I didn’t think of that. I’m new at this vegetarian thing.
TASK: Make She-Wolf Learn About Vegetarian Lifestyle- 4hrs, Earns 120 event currency and 45xp

Monster Physique Pt. 2
She-Wolf starts
She-Wolf: I’m a little unsure about this vegetarian thing. Is a squirrel a vegetable? Is your brain?
SVT: No, no! My brain is way high in cholesterol and oxidants.
She-Wolf: I like you. You should be my health consultant!
SVT: Okay. I suggest you get some exercise and go for a good run.
She-Wolf: Where should I run?
SVT: Far away from me.
TASK: Make She-Wolf Go for a Run- 8hrs, Earns 240 event currency and 70xp

She-Wolf starts
She-Wolf: That was a nice run, but I need more if I’m going to get down to my ideal killing weight.
Gil: Try my primal workout plan! It’s perfect to help you unleash the beast! It’ll only cost you a hundred donuts!
She-Wolf: You give it to me free or I’ll get my primal workout tearing you apart!
Gil: Here you go. Ol’ Gil’s going primal too…living on the street.
TASK: Make She-Wolf do a Primal Workout- 4hrs, Earns 120 event currency and 45xp

Monster Physique Pt. 4
She-Wolf starts
She-Wolf:I;m trying to get healthy, but I just feel drained all the time.
Dr. Hibbert: I’m not a vet, and not really much of a doctor, but I’d say it has to do with your sudden change in diet. If you don’t eat meat again, you might return to regular human form.
She-Wolf: Anything but that! I can’t go back to having to shave my legs! I can’t!
Dr. H: My official prescription is vitamins. My unofficial is…unsuspecting victims. *chuckles*
TASK: Make She-Wolf Return to Primal Ways- 8hrs, Earns 240, 70xp

She-Wolf: I feel so much better! I feel alive!!
SVT: I thought I was your health consultant.
She-Wolf: You were, and now you’re helping me have a balanced diet.

And That’s It...the Final Prize of Act II
If you are like me…and have been tapping every 4 hours…you got her days ago….and may now have enough donuts saved up to buy her a new dress. Oh…but it was possible. Something with a little pizazz to go with her “silky hair.”

But…don’t get too close…the wolfman is jealous dude. And it’s supposed to be another full moon in Springfield.
