Should I Spend Donuts On the Cursed Forest and Beatrice?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Halloween is back in Springfield!  Yes, the water is murky, the screen is slightly darker, monsters and minions are roaming our towns…is there anything better than Halloween in our pocket-sized towns?  Of course, by now, we all know that a new event means a new excuse for EA to fill our stores with limited-time premium items to tempt us.

As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Cursed Forest and Beatrice to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this horror flick combo to your town…

Final Thought
Premium:
Not a bad pickup for the event.  Her outdoor tasks are pretty funny and she’s helpful for the event itself. I’d recommend this to a premium player.

Freemium:
If you’re looking for a helpful character for the event, this is a good pickup.  Good bonus %, ok price (less than some others) and a fun character in general.  Good pickup if you’re looking for a character from the THOH event.

Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as a premium player, I’ll likely be picking this one up.  But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Here’s a look at her tasks…

Beatrice’s Permanent Tasks:

Task Length Earns Location
Snack on Trail Mix 1hr $105, 26xp Cursed Forest
Go for a Hike 4hrs $260, 70xp Outside/Visual
Escape the Forest 8hrs $420, 105xp Outside/Visual at Forest
Tell a Campfire Ghost Story 12hrs $600, 150xp Cursed Forest
Whistle Bird Calls 24hrs $1000, 225xp Cursed Forest

  1. Who is she?

  2. She’s definitely way more cuter than Slick (who comes with Tween Lit Inc). Between the two, I would “normally” pick Beatrice

BUT I had purchased Slick (and Tween Lit Inc) in Act 2 because of the kids task “glitch”. And that “glitch” has proven way more useful & beneficial in Acts 2 & 3 for me (Got all Act 3 prizes (including Womenhet) last Saturday 🙂 )

Soooo because I purchased Slick at full price (150 Donuts) , Im not spending the donuts on Beatrice (I dont really need her for the event). Im sure she will come at a Rebate or Mystery Box in future (It would be hilarious if she’s offered for lower price in the upcoming Black Friday sales)

And I can easily get 4% bonus by buying Burns Mystery boxes at a far lower price …… Sorry Beatrice, you will have to wait to gain entry into my town 🙂

Bought Beatrice. She is a cute character & I like the forest.

Like others, I’ve found it a shame we didn’t get more joint tasks for all these new characters & their respective partners.

  4. Glad I picked her up for the event. Great quest line. On the other hand, EA dropped another Premium character in the 11th hour. Total pass because I can’t justify it for the time left.

  5. Bought her as soon as she hit the store just for that extra punch for the event just incase I had to put a gap in act 3. But so far I haven’t really needed the gap and already got all the prizes for act 3.

  6. Got her!

  7. Immediate buy – the forest design works well with many other items.

  8. Beatrice and the Cursed Forest

If I spend sprinkles on this Character Combo, it will not be for the extra help earning Event Currency and Pickaxes (I will have the final Prize for Act 3 by tomorrow) ….. it will be for the nice Bonus %, funny Visual Tasks, Cursed Forrest (but hey this is a good deal even if the Character is not voiced) 😀👍

  9. Picked her up immediately. I like myself a good cursed forest. 🌲

  10. I bought her because I like the forest and how it fits in to my forests.

  11. They need a Mom and Pop’s Hardware task (SVT & Beatrice)!

  12. I picked her up.
During her questline you find out that she is dating the Squeaky Voiced Teen and find out his first name.
Made me laugh. Her Cursed Forest is going to end up at the bottom of the spooky gorge.

  13. Beatrice and The Cursed Forest are my favourite buy of this event.

  14. I got her too. She’s funny and cute, and I always like having more kids in the game.

  15. She seems cool mais I didn’t want to buy it I’m waiting for the next events (thanksgiving and Christmas)

  16. you should have mentioned that she’s Squeaky Voiced Teen’s girlfriend, LOL

  17. I picked her up. Fun animation and I like the forest. A bit disappointed that she doesn’t really have a task with her boyfriend SVT. I kinda wanted him to have a fun thing to do. He’s back to pushing the filth wagon around town now. He appears in the dialog for the quest line but there are no permanent visual tasks for the two of them…

    • I agree! It seems like a lot of the characters who have a significant other do not have a single task together.

      • Yeah, I fell like EA is getting a little lazy – none of the new monsters have tasks with their monster mates and Beatrice is just the latest in a long line of characters who don’t have any tasks outside the building they came with (besides the tasks everyone has like eat ice cream for the kids or dance at Senor Burns for the adults).

  18. She’s cute. I had the donuts. I bought her. So much for “canon.” I’m a donut farmer now.

  19. I bought her, no regrets. Although I found I really needed no further help for the event 😊
