We’re nearing most Tappers favorite day, Black Friday! Yes a day when all those premium items you’ve been eyeing go on deep discount. Of course, this is TSTO and everything has a twist. This year’s twist, just like last year’s, is that you can’t just outright buy something. Everything comes in Mystery Box! So if you’ve been eyeing that one particular character you may have to clean out a box to do so!
So, as we’ve done in the past, let’s give you guys a preview of what’s in store starting TOMORROW…November 20th. Yes, that’s right. Black Friday gets earlier and earlier each year. Apparently EA couldn’t wait until Friday, instead, they have the items hitting Tuesday.
Note: Once they’re live I’ll start posting typical Mystery Box posts with links to Should I Buys for each box.

GENERAL CONCEPT
First up… the main idea of these sales…
- Unlike past years (where twelve old item returns for a discounted price, one at a time, every hour, twice a day, each day of the sale), this year’s sale will feature a variety of Mystery Boxes. (just like last year)
- The items in your Mystery Boxes are items you do NOT already have in your game OR they are items that you may be able to get more than one of.
- If you already have all the items from a Mystery Box in your game, and all of the items are unique, you will not see that Mystery Box. If you have ALL the items already, you may not even see a Mystery Box at all… or a very very limited few.
- As with any Mystery Box, it’s a mystery which of the items within you will receive. So if you want one particular item, it may take several cracks at that Mystery Box to get said item.
- This is a list of items in the Mystery Boxes based off of the information at the time of this post. EA can change that information at anytime before the Sales go live in your game.
BLACK FRIDAY SALE BOXES
As of right now, there will be 16 boxes available for purchase between November 20th and November 28th. That’s double the boxes from last year and double the time to shop. Here is a list of items contained within these 16 boxes listed alphabetically:
Note: Some boxes may contain duplicate items with other boxes. It’s unclear how it will appear in the game, but in some cases, certain characters appear under multiple boxes. We’ll have to see how it plays out. For the purposes of this post, I’ve tried to only include them in 1 box. (especially since they’re unique, and in some cases, the boxes they’re listed in are 2 different prices, so the file wording doesn’t make a lot of sense)

Gold Box requires tokens, which can only be purchased with cash when you buy donuts. Buying donuts in the store will give you the tokens you’ll need to unlock these boxes.

A few things are still a little confusing to me, based on what’s written in the files, so we’ll have to see how it physically plays out in the game. Because there are so many boxes this year I don’t think I’ll do individual posts on each box. Once I see it in game I’ll determine how I’m going to do the links. So we’ll see what happens!

Spent my golden token, got the stupid boat…… Was not at all surprised.
There are days when irony is so evident…that it needs to be in caps. IRONIC!!
So there were three things in my gold mystery box when I got the free token. The bandit fort, the polo house, and the cartoon set with Scratchy.
I probably wouldn’t have been highly motivated to spend money for tokens anyway, but I got the cartoon set, which I actually sort of wanted. I’m definitely not motivated now.
Kinda want that donut factory, though…
Anyway, will definitely take a crack at the creatures and the women, and maybe the skins. There’s a lot of junk in the boxes that I didn’t ever buy because I didn’t want it, though. Even 25 donuts might be a waste for a lot of it.
(Also, what’s with the C.H.U.M. robot? He’s in like three of the boxes ranging from 15 to 75 donuts! Sheesh!)
Robot prices range on their mood. You can get them cheap if you allow them to be your overlords. But they are quite pricey if you expect them to be sub-servant.
Is nobody going to comment on the fact that the Men box is 80 donuts but the Women box is only 60 donuts?! So women are worth less, hmmm EA? My goodness, the patriarchy is real! 😉
LOL! And let’s not forget that Alter-Egos is the best deal of all. Be whatever you want…as long as it’s not really you!
Or they wanted it make easier to get women in the game so there wouldn’t be so few of them in your town.
planning on spending 14$ for 132 donuts for the tokens, figure after 5+ years of playing I could afford to send some sugar ea’s way, just one question, does getting 132 donuts get me to the 5 token prize or is ea pulling some funny business where you have to buy 12 donuts and so on first?
This has been pretty confusing but I think I finally understand from reading posts in the TSTO subreddit. You don’t have to follow the whole prize track and buy in sequence. You can make a purchase at any level and that will also unlock any previous prizes. I haven’t tried it myself, but that’s the word. The tally of donuts purchased is cumulative and counts toward the total for the next prize. So say if you wanted to spring for the donut factory, you could go ahead and buy it without making the other purchases, and it would also give you everything else in the prize track. Make sense? I wish this were made clearer.

You can just spend however much you want to spend and they will give you the applicable tokens. I bought a boatload, got all the tokens and the donut factory. Now have 20 extra tokens to convert to donuts.
Can someone explain to me how to KEM farm donuts? I never have but apparently you need to to get ahead in this game. I’ve been playing for 5 years plus and am sick of having to find Maggie to earn donuts. Can someone just lay it out for me so I can keep up please. ❤️

If you have an abundance of cash (like the $600M+ I have nothing to spend on) and lack of patience the Bloodmobile Farming is the way to go (especially using the XP generator)…
This is stupid… I have 10,000+ donuts and no prize boxes to open… but now I have to spend $50 to get the three prizes on the track with nothing to spend the gold coins on… again… this is stupid… I hate you EA… so much…
How about a prize box for “free land token generation”… I need that more than 6 donuts a day when I get 12 daily just from sending everyone on tasks…

I’ve been waiting all year for Black Friday. I had over 1,400 donuts to spend, largely due to KEM-farming. I decided to go all in as I spend most of the donuts on the Men Mystery Boxes and got the following:
– Meathook (one of the Bikers in that episode where Homer fights a bunch of bikers. John Goodman voiced him.)
– Sven Golly (good thing I never spend $20 of real cash on him.)
– Mountain Man (from the Bart Royale event. Meh.)
– Moe’s House (why was THIS in the Men’s Mystery Box considering that it did not include a character?!)
– Ramrod (another biker dude. Meh)
– Roscoe the Steel Worker (from “Homer’s Phobia”. Always wanted him)
– Laird (retired Lard Donut guy. Meh)
– Jay G (rich Hip-Hop mogul. Meh)
– Jasper (finally got him since I also have two of his costumes, the Stonecutters and the Softball uniform. Wanted him for so long!)
– Lugash (the gymnastics teacher)
– Wheels McGrath (don’t know who he is. Meh)
– Raoul (don’t know who he is. Meh)
I got Jasper during the middle of my spending spree. I wanted Sam & Larry too but so far I wasn’t lucky.
I also spend a few on the Women Mystery Box and got the following:

– Femme Fatale (meh)
– Belle (from “Bart After Dark”)
– Angelica Button (good thing I didn’t spend any donuts on the Mystical Mystery Box from this year’s Halloween event)
I also spend a few on the Youngsters Mystery Box and got the following:

– Jessica Lovejoy (finally got her in my Springfield as I always wanted her! Plus, Rev Lovejoy and his wife finally have their home)
Angelica was also featured in this box, but I got her in the Women’s Mystery Box instead.
Finally, my “Character” Mystery box only had 2 items (Dia-Betty and the Wiccans) before I started spending my donuts. Since I already got Dia-Betty from the Women’s Mystery Box, I decided to get the Wiccans and clean out the box.
I have 70 donuts left. I may spend real money on the token offers ($10 or less). Looks like more donut farming for me. I was hoping that the 3 Nerds (from “Homer Goes to College”) and Scratchy were offered in the donut rebate boxes instead of the golden token box.
Saw an option in the menu next to the boxes for 12 donuts. Me thinking this meant purchasing 12 donuts with money in order to receive another token like it says on the prize track pressed it to see how much money it cost. Instead it purchased 12 donuts using the free token we got. Nothing asking to confirm either. Just a heads up to others. Instead of using my token on a character/building combo I accidentally used it on 12 donuts. Not sure who would even want that option but thought I’d give others a heads up NOT to press that
This happened to me too. I though it was an offer for free donuts.
The offer is for those who already have all the items offered in the box. So they also can get something, even if it’s only a drop compared to the contents.

I emptied the woman’s box already (480 donuts) and half of the youngsters box. Since the women were far in the minority already there is at least some more balance now. The youngster are quite cheap, i will finish that one too and then get a couple of shots at the men box. In my men box they all seem to come with a building. Depending on my luck I will then start saving for X-mas.
Already reported it & was told it would be worked on but in case someone might need to know. I was buying out the 15 doughnut creature box. Got to the last item, for me was the burns dragon, it never showed & the box disappeared. 😓
Exact same thing happened to me.
My first 3 games all I had in the Gold Box was the Radish station. Easily claimed all the remaining mystery box items. In my 4th game, (the test game where I went for bonus only for about a year), I had a lot of items. So I am skipping the Gold Box for last. I already found a few of the items in the other Mystery Boxes. Spent over 4000 donuts and have to farm again. Luckily more bonus is almost 4000% so it only takes me 3 KEMs to get donuts. Good thing I have seven days to farm. Best Black Friday Ever (for the game).
If your bonus is that high, it’s waaaaay easier to just buy Rat Trap Trucks and resell them.
I have had trouble with RTT. I have only received only one box per RTT where I should have received more. I have also been forced out of the game and lost all the XP. So while I can receive a box for only 3 KEMS ($43K vs $150K), I can also lay down a few hundred KEMs at a time versus buying and selling RTT 5 or so at a time.
*sigh*
I hate Mystery Boxes.
I just want to be able to get the items I want, not gamble in the hopes that I will get them without spending too many extra donuts to get items I don’t care about.
Judging from Alyssa’s list for the Characters Box, I thought I could get Powell and Tatum – and three others – for just 400 donuts, rather than spend 370 at full cost for just the two I want. Great deal, totally worth it. But instead there are six other items in the Box, so I could still spend all my donuts and not get P&T.
So, I will be skipping this year’s Black Friday sale completely. The irony is that I would have probably spent all or most of my donuts if I could just buy specific items.
I did get the University Nerds via the free token, so the “sale” won’t be a *complete* waste, but EA needs to dial down its greed just a bit.
I haven’t bought donuts yet, but they gave me one free token. I spent it and got Jesus. Couldn’t believe it! I did one round in the Youngster box and got a girl I didn’t recognize. I’m sure I’ll try some more.

But… I’m confused. i thought you got the Lard Lad Factory for free when you purchased 900 donuts, not that it COST 900 donuts. Is that not the case? In other words, I thought that if I spent the $49.99 (real money), I would have 900 donuts to spend on whatever, PLUS the Lard Lad Factory. To me this seems great because I was going to purchase donuts anyway, so the LLF is essentially free. Am I getting that wrong?

the only thing new for me is gold coin thing to earn donuts. I cant use current donuts to buy anything. I’m confused how this works now.I am not seeing mystery boxes anywhere?
Anyone know if Golden Scratch-rs count towards the golden tokens? Like, if I buy two golden scratchers I’ll get at least 12 donuts—will I score a token that way? Or will I only get the token for straight up buying a dozen for $1.99?
They do not. You have to buy donuts from the store. Period…if you want the tokens.
I did 5 rounds in the Character Box because 80 donuts seemed like a fair price to me for any of that stuff. I am thinking that I might go for the Creature Box because it is only 15 and Burns Dragon’s Pile of Treasure w/Burns Dragonnking is in it. There is a lot of stuff that I don’t care about in there but at 15 I feel I could get a few duds and still walk away happy if I got Burns Dragon.

Started KEM-Farming last year. Since then I’ve bought everything buyable during the events. Today I’ve already spent 3,500 Donuts on Boxes. 50 Tasks to do… and so many boxes/items left to buy.
On the one hand that is great. So much new content. On the other hand I am inhaling everything in only one week.
I think it would have been better for EA to update the items in the vault and perhaps add a randomizer to it. With the vault EA would get the players excited constantly/repeatedly.
Don’t they typically give us a free token to get us hooked and want to buy more? Not unlike a drug dealer? EA really cheaping out this year.

Oh my goodness I’m sooooo excited for Friday haha.. gonna buy me some donuts and then it’ll take me all day to decide which if the boxes to gamble on… Although I will definitely be getting the youngsters pack for sure, and maybe the women one .. arghhhh I’m way to spoilt for choice… Christmas has definitely come early… Woo hooooo can’t wait.. 😂

If you just buy 900 donuts, it unlocks everything…you don’t have to follow the order or purchases. I just did it and it gave me everything, in total 23 golden coins too.
I have all the Gold Box items already, so purchasing 16 Golden Tokens to get to the Lard Lad Factory, and only being able to redeem them for more donuts is kind of lame, when I can farm them for free. Now, if EA offered their redemption for Land Tokens, then that would have been totally awesome! I need more land, and I feel like EA is simply land grabbing, I mean land withholding, I mean money grabbing, for themselves. And with so many boxes, why not offer Duff Gardens? Or past NPCs? Or KB Tram Station accessories? Something I missed! Sigh… maybe next year. 🙁
