Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Just a friendly reminder that tomorrow morning, Wednesday, December 12th, Week 2 (Act 2) of Christmas will be starting. The official start time is 10am ET (1500 GMT).
While the Week 1 questline won’t be going anywhere, so if you haven’t finished the prizes you’ll have a chance to complete it even after Week 2 starts, some of the premium items will be leaving the store.
So if you planned to purchase Kathy or the Acrobat (SIBs linked) do so before they leave our games tomorrow morning. (It doesn’t appear that they will help with Week 2, they’re unique to week 1)
Also, here’s some inside info to help you prepare for Week 2 to start…
As we know Bart will be telling the story during Week 2. Characters needed for week 2 tasks are:
Homer
Lisa
Bart
Marge
Grampa
Maggie
Wiggum
Krusty
Mr. Burns
Martin
Nelson
There will also be three new premium characters introduced during week 2, all three of those characters will be able to help with the currency earning. (524 donuts will be needed if you’d like to purchase all three characters)
And that’s it my friends! Be prepared for Week 2 to start up tomorrow morning!

The User Mistake during the Week 1 questline is already legendary. Alissa, you have answered and helped so many people with patience. Respect. It is great that it is possible to finalize Act 1, while the next chapter will start today. I wonder if this was possible in the past (deadlines per Act?), because otherwise it was the first questline I could finish in time since the start in 2012, because of my own mistake 🙂

I find the last few Christmas specials really lacking in ideas and execution… During the Halloween specials, for example, when you bought a premium character to help earn the current special-themed currency, those characters would help through all the acts or phases. Discovering that Kathy and the Acrobat only help for 1 of 4 mini quests… what a waste of donuts! They’re not even very good premium characters.
Further to this, I’m not a fan of this mini-quest thing. A part of the game we (the wife and I) really enjoyed is seeing who could get further ahead. Now you can’t get any further ahead then finishing 1 mini quest at a time. Not very satisfying.
And finally, with the good quests, once you finish early you have a chance to earn donuts if you keep earning the themed currency. Clearly that isn’t happening again this year! In fact, very little seems to be happening this year (again) besides basic quests.
I’m holding out hope once again that for Christmas we get some extra donuts like they used to do. Someone dropped the ball last year because we didn’t get anything. I wrote in about that! I’d also like to see some more inventive ideas. What happened to giving presents to your neighbors? That was always fun.
My act 2 did not start. Did I miss something? I have had a lot of issues with this event that I have never experienced.

Is it just me or should all the duplicate Homer/Bart/Lisa/Maggie characters be joined.
What I mean is
Young Homer should just be a character skin of Homer that you could select to do tasks. Grownup Bart can be a skin for Bart. Grown-up Lisa can be a skin for Lisa. And this new “Angel Lisa” could be a skin for Lisa rather than a weird “duplicate” Lisa.
I really find it annoying there’s two Lisa’s
Totally agreeeeee!!!! It is one of my main peeves with the designers. It’s just silly.
Nevermind that I have 3 Monty Burnseseses (original, robot and Lord Montymort, as well as 3 Smithers (original, robot and snake), 2 Homers, 2 Barts, 2 Maggies, and now 3 Lisas… lol

Well, based on the fact that Bart narrates… and the way the characters are arranged in the Xmas 2018 box, next is gonna be gangster snowman(?) that Sprawl-mart security guard (Catfish? ‘Listen, if I wanted smoke blown up my rear end I’d be at home with a carton of cigs and a short length of hose!”) and ‘young Barney’… Where will I get the donuts?!?
Definitely getting Don Brodka, and Lee Carvallo when they come out…
Don was an insta-buy for me but he kinda broke my budget, hopefully mining will get me young marge and barney (fingers crossed and KwikiMarts a’buildin’…
I think Bart will have the security guard and sports/ video game characters related to his story. Maggie is the real gangster in the family.

I just noticed that the mermaid in the “Mermaid Petting Zoo” has a scarf. I love all the little details

I’m on part 5 today. I should finish week 1 sometime tomorrow. I can usually only log in 2-3 times a day, so I’m pretty happy with being so close to the finish.

Did you scroll UP and make sure you completed ALL the tasks?

I read Alissa’s post yesterday about the hiding task and was annoyed that I had missed a single task to finish up the event for the week. I think that I missed it because I am used to starting at the top of the task list and not the bottom.
So far the event, except for the hiding task, has been going much better than I had thought it would with it being four mini-events linked to a common theme vs. the three acts that are supposed to be linked to a common theme and sometimes are not (I’m remembering the Zoo event with mutants and young Homer).
Keep up the great work Alissa and team! Also don’t give up on some of us slow learners who should know to give you guys the benefit of the doubt when you give us good advice for this awesome game and we forget to listen.

Thanks for the post. Enjoyed act 1, having dialogue throughout the act is far better than just dialogue at the start and made it more engaging and seem less of a 4 hour chore.
I’ve completed both requirements for part 3 (Lisa angel reward), but I can’t get her unlocked or start the next phase. Anyone know why??
