Should I Spend Donuts On the Boat House?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Grab your Santa hats and break out the tinsel because it’s Christmas time in Springfield! Yes the annual TSTO Christmas event has arrived in our pocket-sized towns, covering our usual perfect weather towns with a fresh blanket of bright, white, snow!   Of course, by now, we all know that a new event means a new excuse for EA to fill our stores with limited-time premium items to tempt us.

As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Boat House to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this floating home to your town…

Final Thought
Premium or Freemium:
While I like this one, I’m kind of annoyed it can’t go in the water.  I get it, but I just feel like it should.
Anyway, this is basically everything we ask for in a premium building and the some.  The fact that it earns event currency for Act 2 is nice, but the animated task for the Sea Captain is the icing on the cake for this one.  If you have the donuts and like the look pick this one up.

Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as a premium player, I’ll be picking it up.  But I readily admit this time of the year makes me loopy with spending donuts.  But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Here’s a look at the questline…

Boat House Pt. 1
Auto starts

SeaCaptain: Yarrrr! Take cover, ye land lubbers, and pray to whatever gods ye hold! There be a nor’easter blowing in!
Homer: We’re all gonna die! …he said, not knowing what a “nor’easter” is, but assuming the worst…
Marge: It means a big storm.
SeaCaptain: A tempest that devours all, gorging on the souls of the damned! Sending ships and fish alike to watery graves!
Marge: In that case, we might want to stock up on extra batteries.
SeaCaptain: Aye, and canned veggies, too! Plus, it’s always sensible to have a gas-powered generator on hand! They be affordable! Not that it will do ye any good when the kraken fixes its gaze upon ye…
Make Sea Captain Terrify with Tales of the Deep- 4hrs, Earns $260, 70xp
SeaCaptain: I’ve seen the kraken tear mighty vessels asunder with its tentacles. ‘Twas in a movie whose name escapes me at the moment. But Keanu Reeves was miscast as the ship’s captain. Of that I be sure!
Homer: Can the kraken get into our house? So long as we don’t invite him in, he can’t enter, right?
Marge: Homer, krakens are a myth. Besides, they live in the sea. We’re on land.
Homer: What about when I take a bath? Can the kraken get me there?!
SeaCaptain: Well, it didn’t happen in the film, but sure, probably. I imagine the kraken would like nothing better than to pull you to the icy depths of the tub.
Marge: Stop scaring my husband!

Boat House Pt. 2
Auto starts

SeaCaptain: The fools doubt that the kraken be real. But I keep vigil from the prow of my boat house, ready to raise the alarm when the creature rises. The threat of the sea is all too real when one lives on water that is almost five feet deep.
Make Sea Captain Look Through His Spy Glass- 8hrs, Earns $420, 105xp
SeaCaptain: I saw it!
Homer: The kraken?!
SeaCaptain: Yarrr. It beat the sea into a froth, commanding the wind and rain with primal sorcery. I stared calmly into its hundred eyes speaking incantations in a long-dead tongue, casting it back to the deeps. And that’s why the nor-easter petered out and all we got was a light drizzle.
Marge: So I don’t need all these batteries I bought, huh?
SeaCaptain: Yarrr. You can never have enough batteries. Bit of old sea wisdom for ye.

  1. I purchased this as it fits nicely with my Marine World. I was looking for a nautical themed food/gift shop and it’s just the job!

  2. Why it should be on the ocean? It‘s a house, it‘s not on the ocean in the simpson episode.
btw: it‘s worth to watch S25E08 again, as there are many other items also from there, some which we get new this event, and a handfull we already got in earlier christmas events.

    • Because it’s a BOAT House…

      • exactly, it‘s a boat HOUSE, not a house BOAT 🙂
did you seen the episode? why should it be in the game a boat on the water, when it‘s in the show a house on land?
what annoys me is that all the new snow objects can not built on ice.

  3. The animation alone is worth it. But plEAse recode it so it goes on water

  4. I think that I’ll probably get it, it seems like a good deal.

  5. Strange that it goes everywhere but the sea, I wonder if this was intended, or a happy accident?

  6. I’m on a boat…

  7. Boat House

Easily finished Act 2, so I don’t need this for “that reason” (but for 50 Sprinkles? I think the Sea Captain deserves a new 8 Hour Task)⚓👍

    Stay Festive Everyone ♥️🦌🎅🎄⛄

  8. Annoyed that it can’t go on water? It’s a house that looks like a boat. The front door opens below the waterline. If it were on the water, it would sink. It looks great on the beach! Maybe a shipwreck repurposed into a house? I like the idea of putting it on squidport tiles then placing the iceberg in front. Mine will remain happily on the beach.

  9. In my opinion, this should have been posted at the beginning of the event, when it would be of use for people. The only draw for me was the event help – which is why I bought it right away, otherwise it would be a pass. Not complaining, just an opinion

    • Well you know what they say about opinions…

First of all, this didn’t hit games at the start of the event. It just arrived in games on Friday (as in the Friday that just happened…December 14th).
Second, if you planned on buying it for event earning currency you would have done that without my SIB. (Which appears to be just what you did)
Third, this was the first chance I had to write and post it. What with all the other event content I’ve been cranking out…including SIBs for all THREE characters that hit with Week 2. Unless of course you don’t think I should have any kind of life…

  10. I say just put it on your boardwalk and turn it into either a nautical shop or a nautical restaurant. That is what I did.

  11. Actually, I was not interested in another boat on the ocean, but as soon as a realized that it went on the land, I loved the idea and bought it straight away. Sea Captain’s task is perfect.

  12. This item, along with the one from the last act, are mystery box foder! Now if they threw in a skin for the Sea Captain, then perhaps.

Kinda of sucks there are no bonus donut for finishing the act early.

  13. A boat house that can’t go on water and ice sculptures that can’t go on ice, go figure??, ⛄⛄⛄⛄⛄⛄⛄⛄⛄⛄❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️

  14. I grabbed it as soon as I saw it!Bummed it doesn’t go in water, but I think it looks great earns $. Love the Sea Captain interaction. Very happy with it!

  15. You can make it look like it’s on the water. Place 2 boardwalk tiles in open ocean. Place the house boat on top. I then used the iceberg to place in front of it.
Boom, looks like it’s on water.

  16. I was searching for the SIB on the boat house this morning, and I couldn’t find one. I decided to go ahead and get it. Now that I am reading this post, I don’t regret my purchase.

  17. I love this building! The task for the Sea Captain is outdoors and the perfect job for him. I’m not a big fan of stand alone buildings (characters earn more and don’t use up real estate), but sometimes they offer a really fun piece, and this is one of them. Picked it up immediately ⚓️👍😁.

  18. I bought this one as soon as I had enough donuts 😃 I was happy to see that it can be placed on land but perplexed why we weren’t given the option to also place it in the water. Still I’m thankful to EA for a great event so far with some really awesome available items plus dialogue! Glad I didn’t quit after the roll back glitch and zoo fiascos and stuck it out…the reason I did is because I love this game and it’s a part of my life now, I’d be lost without it ❤️ Thanks Addicts for all that you do, I’d be lost without your assistance too! Happy Holidays! ☃️

  19. I purchased. But agree is annoying can’t go on water. Some things just don’t makes sense.
