Christmas 2018 Prize Guide: Act 3, Prizes 1 and 2 Christmas Tree Farm and Flaming Christmas Trees

Ho Ho Ho Holiday Tappers!

Bust out the tinsel and be sure to hang those stockings by the chimney with care because Christmas time is in the air! That’s right my friends, Christmas (and snow, lots and lots of snow) has hit our pocket-sized towns!

This year EA is trying something different, as I’ve laid out in this post, in that Christmas 2018 consists of multi-events.  Basically, the Simpson family will host four stories to be told over the course of December with a new story releasing each week.  As we’re taken through each story a series of prizes are released to correspond with the theme of the story.  For Week 3, Act 3, we’re following a Heartwarming Love story as told by Marge, and the prizes we unlock all fit into the Christmas Love Story theme.

So let’s take a look at the first two prizes this week, the Christmas Tree Farm and Flaming Christmas Trees…

First up, prize 1, the Christmas Tree Farm AND Land Token

How You Unlock it:
Paramours of Christmas Past Pt. 1
Make Marge Return to Her Hometown- 4hrs
Collect Stockings- x100.  4hrs.

Once achieved you’ll unlock the Christmas Tree Farm…

Make Homer Try to Impress Marge- 4hrs

Once achieved you’ll unlock the Flaming Trees (x6)…

And that’s it my friends, the details on the first two Christmas 2018 week 3 prizes!

Up next? The Snowed Inn.

  1. Question, is anybody’s Christmas Tree Farm missing now? I just noticed that it’s spot is empty, not in the inventory, and can’t find it in my town (believe me, i checked twice).

  2. At first, I was disappointed to find out that the Christmas Tree Farm wasn’t a building but a decoration however I’m starting to like it now (maybe its the snowman that interests me and the land token that came with it). The Flaming Christmas Trees definitely seem different to previous Christmas trees we had and maybe next year there could be a frozen tree released.

  3. I had assumed ( not as a result of anything posted on this blog ) that there would be a free land token along with the 6 flaming Christmas trees, so a bit disappointed I’ll need to wait a wee bit longer for the next land token.
Yeah the total number of Christmas trees when you include the ones from the 50 donut bundles is starting to get a bit silly!

    Hmmmm,
I completed 300 units to earn Prize 3 – Building
    And I ain’t got it.
I closed out. Shut down. Restarted..
I FORCED all characters to go back earning stockings. Let them run all night and restart all in the morning.
    Hope fully it’ll work.
    G’night all

    • Did you scroll up and make sure you completed all the required tasks?

      • Tracy-1ltwoody920

Yep, done that. Everything was checked off as completed.
Went old school 🏫 du-uh. I stored all my fricking trees, I mean, all 6 of my Flaming Trees and once again “placed” them. And it restarted the quest line.
i.e. Store the most recent prize, pull it from storage. Had that not worked. I would have repeated, but closed out, shut down…..
But yippee! I’m back on track and WAITING 4 hours for the Prize 3 building to finish before I start the quest line – involving a task for Marge, a task for Artie and, of course, the 300 stockings group.
4 hours sleep does wonders for the thought process. I’ll be even better come morning.

Yes, ma’am. I scrolled up. And down. I’ve noticed that occasionally,
w-a-y d-ow-n at the bottom of the task list is important info (righcha here there is important info)
        Nuttin’ was happening.
I stored the trees, left, returned and was prompted to PLACE TREES. I did as I as told.
        Hot Ziggety. It kick started.
        😇

  5. Well I already joked how lazy it is to offer up another Christmas Tree Lot, when we already have one (Slightly Irregular) 🤷🏼‍♀️ – but the Flaming Christmas Trees are a lol (how many different Christmas Trees do we have now? 6?) and I will have The Snowed Inn tonight (yes!) 😀

Hey, I won’t argue over how “meh” some of the Act Prizes are (as we all will probably “plop now and redo later” keeping what we ♥️ and storing what we don’t) …. or how redundant they can be (another school, a diner, a store, etc) …. because this has been a stress free easy peasy no grinding no crafting Christmas Event (thank you EA!) …. and I think enough will agree it’s all about the Premiums, so keep on Kem Farming for them (at least half are worth it) and bring on the Mystery Boxes!👍

    Have a Holly Jolly Holiday Everyone ♥️🦌 🎄⛄ 🎅

  6. Found a perfect place for one of the trees…

  7. I don’t understand the thought process of giving us 6 identical decorations and then offering more for game cash. 99% of players will place one or two and stick the rest in inventory. Decorations take up valuable real estate and earn nothing. When they are of seasonal interest only too, forget it.

    • I plan to buy several more just to have for when I’m Inspired. I like being able to buy decorations for cash.

  8. There’s no tasks or money and xp or bonus percentage attached to either prize? That’s disappointing

It’s much better than a chicken pulled chariot or a statue though. I like the look of them

    • it seems (from previous two weeks) that the tasks related to prizes start after you finish the week’s main questline

    • Prizes don’t usually give bonus % unless you can buy more in the store for donuts and get the first one for free (the BBQ Pig and Town Square from Thanksgiving and Halloween a few years ago are examples) or they return to the store for donuts when they become premium. At least the rest of the prizes look interesting.

  9. Thanks Alissa! I find these decorations very original 😁

  10. Although I was one of the complainers, this event has made me a convert to the new style. I appreciate the steady stream of prizes and premium offers, the very low-maintenance approach, and most of all the great writing. If this is what 2019 holds for TSTO, then I’ll be continuing to play through 2020.

Thanks as always to the Addicts staff for keeping us informed and staying sane despite the comments sections. I don’t know that I would still be engaged with the game 5 years later without this community. Happy Holidays to you all!

    • I agree the dialogue in this one has been impressive, a lot of the time previously I was just skipping through the dialogue as quickly as possible, but it’s genuinely enjoyable to take the time to read.
