Yes the annual TSTO Christmas event has arrived in our pocket-sized towns, covering our usual perfect weather towns with a fresh blanket of bright, white, snow! Of course, by now, we all know that a new event means a new excuse for EA to fill our stores with limited-time premium items to tempt us.
As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add the Aircraft Carrier and Young Abe (Grampa Simpson) to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this flashback combo to your town…
Building/Decoration: Aircraft Carrier

Earns: Nothing (I’m hoping this is corrected, that’s A LOT of donuts for no bonus %)

Pros
-Helps with the event, earns a premium rate
-Voiced (of course, it’s Grampa)
-Has 12 and 24hr animated tasks, and his 12hr task is HILARIOUS
-His dialogue is another Christmas Tale, similar to the ones told by Lisa, Bart and Marge
Cons
-Will only help with Week 3 of the event, no help for week 4
-Pricey considering the Aircraft Carrier doesn’t earn anything
Final Thought
Premium:
If you’re collecting the young characters, as I’ve been saying, this is a no-brainer. However, like the other items, i’m kind of annoyed the aircraft carrier doesn’t earn anything at the 175 donut price tag. That being said, I’m definitely a fan of Young Abe for Act 3. I like his tasks, the aircraft carrier goes in the ocean and his dialogue is fun. Premium players I’d grab this one.
Freemium:
If you’re insisting on getting a character from each week then I’d choose Abe over Artie, however, if you’re not sold on having to get a character each week I’d pass. Wait for what’s to come with Act 4.
Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as a premium player, I already picked it up (what can I say, I’m collecting them). But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Air… Craft… Carrier… In Springfield. Yes please. Him riding a shark is laugh worthy too!!! The only thing to make it better is maybe a friking laser beam.

It’s a must buy for sure but,….I’m also alarmed that nothing seems to give bonuses anymore. Wish the propellers spun at least.

I concur. One hopes they will fix that sad state of affairs, they have done so in the past. I of course greatly prefer when they add the bonus percentages.

The Hellfish was one of my favourite episodes, and I really like the Corsair aircraft. I spent some of my “free” Google rewards earnings on the discounted donuts (great win 😁) and bought it.

Not sure if this is a new trend or what,,but it’s awfully strange how all of a sudden they seem to be offering a lot of high-priced items with zero earning potential. Really hope it’ll get fixed in the near future. I don’t know what they’re thinking!!
I’m wondering the same thing but it did happen at last year’s Christmas event in which the new premium decorations don’t earn any bonuses at all. I’m curious to know if they will ever get a bonus % in the future.
For what they’re asking in donuts…over rubber last year I started KEM farming so I’m finding myself buying more of the premium content nowadays!! Kinda been on a spree this holiday season🎃🦃⛄🎍🎅
Still on the fence on this character. 🤔 Will only consider cause getting young bunch. Was bummed only got 10 donuts on mystery. Seems like i never get lucky on those. And have too many news vans when I buy my own mystery.
If they *do* fix it, to give an xp and money bonus, please let us know! I really wanted this and was going to get it, but without a bonus or earning anything, that’s kinda steep.

I bought him, basically because i like the young characters, and since tomorrow is my last working day this year, i will be out of rithm of playing every 4 hours. I guess for me act 4 will be difficult to finish. Although i like this game very much, real life is still more important (you only live that once). But i have to admit it’s pricy and no% attached.
Someone on the forum said that it does provide a small XP and money bonus so I’ve bought it. But unfortunately it does not offer any bonus at all. And yes I do agree it cost way to much for that. I’d suggest to buy the happy holiday mystery pack. You can get three premium characters for the same money.
