Should I Spend Donuts On the Timberlog Diner?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Grab your Santa hats and break out the tinsel because it’s Christmas time in Springfield! Yes the annual TSTO Christmas event has arrived in our pocket-sized towns, covering our usual perfect weather towns with a fresh blanket of bright, white, snow!   Of course, by now, we all know that a new event means a new excuse for EA to fill our stores with limited-time premium items to tempt us.

As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Timberlog Diner to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding the 500th diner to your town…

-Comes with a permanent 4hr task for Homer, Eat All the Donuts
-Nice look to it, will fit nicely with other woodsy items

Cons
-Comes with a permanent 4hr task for Homer, Eat All the Donuts…how many 4hr tasks does Homer need?
-Only Earns Event Currency for Week 3
-More expensive than other event currency earning buildings we’ve seen the last 2 weeks
-How many diners does Springfield need?

Final Thought
Premium or Freemium:
Yes, it has a permanent task and earns event currency but I’m really on the fence with this one.  I feel like the cons far outweigh the pros for this one.  If you really like it grab it, but otherwise I’d pass.

Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as a premium player, I’m on the fence.  But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Here’s a look at the questline…

Timberlog Diner Pt. 1
Auto starts

Homer: Ooh, look, guys! A new restaurant! I wanna try! Pull over!
Carl: Homer, we just ate.
Lenny: Just pull over, Carl. You know how he gets…
Carl: That’s exactly the point. Homer needs to learn that he can’t always have what he wants.
Lenny: He’s just going to keep asking and asking…
Homer: Pull over! Pull over! Pull over! Huuuuuunnnnggggrrrryyyyyy!
Carl: If we always give in, he’s going to grow up to be a selfish monster.
Lenny: He’s only thirty-eight years old. You can’t expect him to act like an adult. Cut him some slack.
Carl: No. This time I’m putting my foot down.
Make Homer Have a Hunger Induced Panic Attack Count- 4hrs, Earns $260, 70xp
Carl: All right, all right! We’ll stop for food! Just settle down, Homer!
Lenny: Don’t yell at the boy, Carl. He’s just testing boundaries. It’s normal at his age.
Carl: Don’t use your therapist voice on me. I’m doing the best I know how.
Homer: Food!!!

Timberlog Diner Pt. 2
Auto starts

Homer: They have donuts! Want!
Carl: Donuts are dessert. You have to eat something healthy first.
Lenny: Waiter? Can we get a plate of donuts?
Carl: You always have to undermine me, don’t you, Lenny?
Make Homer Eat All the Donuts Count 4hrs, Earns $260, 70xp
Homer: *furious donut eating*
Carl: That is really disgusting.
Lenny: Don’t pick on him, okay? At least he’s eating.
Carl: I just… I just thought it would be easier, ya know? It’s so much responsibility. And I really love the little guy.
Lenny: Hey, I get it. You worry because you care. Homer’s just going through a phase. He’ll grow out of it.
Carl: Promise?
Lenny: Promise.
Homer: *furious donut eating*

  1. I’d go for this if it earned “event currency” that would transition to the next week’s currency. But for just stockings, it seems questionable to me.

  2. Like the Boat House, the Diner timer resets and starts the count down again. I don’t know what the exact trigger is for it to do this but I don’t get event currency when it resets which is very annoying. Doesn’t seem to reset twice in a row from observation but will need to double check that.

  3. FWIW, the dialogue on this between Lenny an Carl is pretty hilarious

  4. I grabbed it. I’m a little behind on this weeks quest line so I got it to help out. Wasn’t interested in the 175 donut price for Artie or Young Abe, so this was I’m only option. It’s ok-just ok.

  6. I forgot the xmas event was still going on. Almost forgot to start tapping again. Hope im not too far behind.

  7. Looks cool. Love the woods.

  8. Timberlog Diner

Because I Kem Farm? Chances are I may spend the Sprinkles (even though I agree with Alissa on several things) because I like it! 😀

Yep! Another Diner, but compared to the 2nd Act 3 Prize (another Christmas Tree Farm)? This Building actually has a permanent Character Task, generates XP & $ (yeah the extra Event Currency is nice)! 👍

What the deuce on that price? (EA is kinda looking greedy now!) Sure, I Kem Farm, and this won’t be a “one and done” (like the 2nd Prize from Act 3 – already storing it!) – but “what the deuce, EA”? (how about a rare 6 Hour Character Task)👎

    Stay Jolly Holly Everyone ♥️🦌 🎄⛄ 🎅

  9. I like it, but I think I’m going to roll the dice on the mystery box first. If I get a couple of the items I want there I’ll probably pick this up. As you said, it would go well in a woodsy area, but it is a little meh.

  10. I’m not gonna get it, but that dialog is cute.

  11. I won’t be getting this, but it contains a decoration that I have been wishing they would bring to Springfield–a picnic table. I would love to be able to place them in my town.

  12. Don’t really need another diner, but sure would like to have a dozen or so of the picnic tables…been waiting a couple years to see some added to the game, and still waiting. 😟

  13. Thanks Alissa! I think this one falls in my “meh” category.
