Addicts Open Thread

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread!  So, let’s get the conversation going!  Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long.  This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!

Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING.  Just no Add me requests…those should go here.  We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

So, here is your Open Thread…..

Happy New Year fellow Addicts! We’re almost a full week into 2019, how’s it going for you so far?  Keeping those resolutions? Gave up on them already?

Christmas ended in TSTO this past Wednesday, yet we still don’t have anything new in Springfield. What do you think is next?  When do you think it’ll hit?

ICYMI Safi had a brand new post all about advanced Kwik-e-Mart farming.  Have you read it yet?  Thoughts?

And finally, how about the rest of your weekend?  Do anything fun and exciting?

So chat about the Simpsons, TSTO, Update fun, or anything else you can think of! (Just no politics, it never ends well)  Can’t wait to chat with you all, you know we love hearing from you!

Have Fun!  And happy Sunday!

  1. When I go to send my characters to do a job, in the job listings are jobs that require items that I have stored. This only started happening after I placed all my Christmas Decorations. Does anyone else have this problem?

  2. I thought there were 10 classic mansions from Springfield Heights. In one of my games I have 17.

  3. That’s it – I’m done. I have decided to quit TSTO cold turkey, though I have been playing it religiously since December of it’s first year. It has gotten to be too much of a grind, having me log in 4-5 times a day in order to get all of the prizes, which lately have become less and less interesting. As long as I was getting new characters that I remembered from the show it was good, but now with well over 320+ characters I think I have all of the ones I need and/or remember. Through the labor of KEM farming I got 150 donuts a day, which enabled me to get a ton of premium characters and content. But now I’ve reached the point where I feel like I have it all (at least in regards to classic characters/items from the show). Now I look forward to getting all of that time back in my day, as well as the freedom of not being shackled to my two tablets (yes, TWO, each one with its own Springfield, so I was playing twice as much as just maintaining one town) and having to live my life in four hour shifts. The game used to be fun, and then it was just a habit, but now I want my life back and don’t think I will miss the game at all. I would like to thank Alissa and crew for all of their hard work, which made the game easier for me to manage. I especially want to thank Patric, as I was a follower of his website before he shifted to the TSTO Addicts banner. Carry on, and have a Happy 2019!

    • My guess is you are a true “addict” in that you can’t just visit when you want to. I too have had at times thought, “No, it is a game – you rule it, it doesn’t rule you”. (I am currently playing 5 games). Just curious, at what bonus level is your game at? KEM farming for a long term player like you shouldn’t be a grind.

      • Both my games maxed at level 939 a long time ago. I don’t remember what the bonus percentage number was, but I could get to the bonus donut game about once a day when I had the XP multiplier running (and I only did that when I was KEM farming – which I did about once a quarter, each 10 day farming session netted me over 1500 donuts). KEM farming was a grind in that it took 8 minutes 4 or 5 times a day for 10 days. It was easy to do, but being locked into having to do the game every 4 hours (either for an event or for KEM farming) made it seem like the game was controlling me instead of vice versa. The quality of my playing suffered too – for the first few years my Springfields were well laid out and made sense. Lately, though, all new items and buildings just got crammed onto the edge of the map with no cohesion or care about their looks. I even raced through the dialogues (if I read them at all) as I just wanted to get the session over with so I could get back to what I really needed to be doing in the real world. When something is no longer fun it is time to move on, so I did. There is not enough free time in the day to waste it.

        • I run the collider full time. Two of my games I don’t farm. Two have small farms (about 24) that I do when I have extra time. I like to run the game not it me. Usual I can easily finish quests, but if I need/want to I can/will use donuts to speed it along. I may RTT farm when I have extra time. I still enjoy it but there have been times in the past I thought about dropping it. Take a breather, enjoy life.

  4. Haii, did anyone else update, then try to log in and are given an error

  5. Warning: I accidentally sold the Town Hall with Quimby. It is only 15000, but I thought it was one that couldn’t be sold. I didn’t get a warning, (probably in a group sell of KEMs), but I check another game it did give a warning as a single. How many any building can now be sold?

  6. Just updated my game a few moments ago, and the Christmas Tree Farm we obtained in the Christmas event is just gone. Has this happened to anyone else? Did it go to storage automatically, or is this a glitch? Haven’t been able to find it in my inventory 🙁

    • My Christmas float from a couple of years ago has also disappeared. Never noticed when it disappeared but I searched through my town and all of my inventory twice and it’s not there. Anyone else?

      • My Christmas Float is still in my town. Hopefully you find yours!
Looks like a lot have people have lost their Christmas Tree Farm, so fingers crossed the problem gets corrected.

  7. Oddly enough, I woke up this morning with about $11-13 Million missing from my game. I made sure that I didn’t actually buy land or anything too. Did the game simply glitch overnight?

  8. So, has anyone nuked their town lately? I keep wanting to do it to start a fresh layout, but I remember that after they included that option people were using it and finding things missing afterward. Has that been fixed? Is it safe to nuke and start your setup over again?

  9. On the opening Christmas splash page – I’m curious if anyone knows what Homer is leaning against?
    Could it be “skyfinger”?

  10. Hi fellow Tappers! Happy New Year!
I’m bumping up against the item limit and wondering – should I just put my Monorail in storage? Interested to hear from others if you have stored your Monorail, and how you like your town without it? Or just generally how do people feel about towns without Monorails? I know Patric has strong views!
