In-Game Update: Not Yet Spring Cleaning and The Mystery of the Brown House

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The very first mini-event of 2019 has hit our games!  As long as you’ve downloaded the app store update from yesterday, you’ll see this pop up automatically in your game.

For this update we’re going to take a look at the mystery of the Brown House, and Alice Glick.

Things kick off with a 6s task each for Bart and Milhouse, followed by a 4hr task for Milhouse and the kids of Springfield to collect Hard Candies.

A TON of content y’all have been asking for is included with this one, so let’s take a look…

Event Ends January 22nd.

Interesting to note it ends on a Tuesday, not a Wednesday.  I think this sets us up for a teaser and/or episode tie-in, followed by an event launching the week of January 28th.

First a note about the Tree Lot from the 2018 Christmas Event…

Some you are reporting that it’s missing from your Springfield.  It’s not technically missing.  It’s still in your Springfield there’s just a visual glitch at the moment making it invisible when it’s turned a certain way.
This has to be corrected by EA, they likely forgot to put an image in the files for it when turned without snow.  I assume this will be corrected via the next update.

Also, yes, you technically can still finish the Christmas questlines if you’ve started them.  Here’s the popup I received on my C game…

Not sure if it means the current questline, to earn all rewards for that one, or just the current part your on to earn that specific prize.  But in any event, yes you can finish what you are working on.

As will all mini-events, there’s a questline prize track to unlock with this.  So here’s a look at this prizes…

Ms. Glick’s House

Springfield University

Alice Glick

Original Brown House

Ms. Glick’s “Have a Knitting Circle” Animation

All of these prizes, in case you didn’t know, will be unlocked via the “Mystery of the Brown House” Questline.  So follow that questline to unlock all of the prizes before January 22nd.

Turbo Tappin’ for that questline will be up a little later today…

As with all events, mini or regular, there are new premium items in the store.  Here’s a look at the new items arriving with this update:

Mighty Pigs Practice Rink and Lewis Clark- 165 Donuts, rink earns 4.5% bonus on all cash and XP.  Lewis can earn Hard Candies, and at a special rate of 8/4hrs. (freemium kids earn 5/4hrs, premium kids earn 7/4hrs.  So Lewis earns better than both)

Box Factory- 65 Donuts. Earns $200, 22xp/8hrs

And what you’ve all been waiting for…

Golden Goose Realty- 150 Donuts.  Earns 1 Land Token/12hrs.  This is a way to get all of the land tokens you can handle to unlock the land.  (and I believe, once you’ve unlocked all of the land you can turn tokens into donuts..but this is unverified (as I have nowhere near all of the available land. Just something I saw noted)

There’s also a TON of returning content hitting our games with this update.  Here’s a look at the returning content…

So basically returning stuff from The Buck Stops Here mini-event that happened last January.

Another Donut Deal has popped up with this as well…

So for $19.99 (US) you’ll get 450 donuts, instead of the usual 300 Donuts.

A note on the Golden Goose…

It appears, and I don’t know if this is designed this way or not, that the Golden Goose is the ONLY building in Springfield  (see update below) you can rush…for 12 donuts.

Not sure if this is an error on EA’s part or not.  So if you’re planning on rushing I’d do it now, just in case it disappears soon.

Of course, this could be intentional by EA to get some of you to not only pay donuts for the building but pay donuts for each land tile…

Update: As Charles has pointed out to me (and some other folks), there are still some buildings you can rush with donuts.  So take what I’ve said with a grain of salt.

And that’s it my friends!  All of the details behind the latest mini-event to hit Springfield.  Some exciting new stuff (that we’ve been asking for) and a whole lot of returning content!  Just want the doctor ordered to start 2019…

Thoughts on the mini-event?  Thoughts on Stonecutters stuff returning?  Thoughts on the land token earning building?  Thoughts on Alice Glick?  Lewis Clark?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Has anyone else had trouble storing the original brown house now that this event is over? Mine won’t let me hoard it.

  2. On 2 of the 3 of my Springfields, the Christmas tree farm was facing the way that made it turn invisible. I found it in both cases, moved to the mountains between Springfield and Springfield Heights. Using the drag select tool, you can find its invisible square where the mountains meet the ocean, on the Springfield side. You can then rotate it visible and place it.

I hadn’t seen a solution posted about this, but that’s where it is.

  3. The building who gives donuts, if this skill only going to exist during this mini event or it will give you land’s after the event finish?

  4. I’m on level 939 and get several bonus bonuts all day but I’m nowhere near having all the land. For my 939’ers how have you purchased all your land tiles? And I need WordPress to fix their problem. I haven’t received my daily TSTO email in over a week 😡

    • Carmen (gameid5000)

Nothing but time. If you are at level 939, now you can look into increasing your conform-o-meter value. As it increases, your daily activity generates more cash, allowing you to buy all of those tiles. You may need to forgo KEM farming for a bit to allow the cash to build.

Also, it looks like you will need to find a way to acquire the Golden Goose Realty building, as it is the key to getting the land token only tiles going forward.

  5. Question???? I’ve already put other items where my Christmas tree lot was before it disappeared. Where will it go when this glitch is fixed via next update? Thanks for any help.

  6. My Christmas Tree Lot doesn’t seem to be invisible, it’s just flat out gone. There’s nothing to select there with the move tool and when I try to move something else there it shows as open space.

  7. Your deal to buy donuts shows you getting 450 for $19.99 US, when I look at purchasing the truckload of bonus donuts it’s priced at $27.99 US?

    • And you’re in the US?

    • No, but not sure how that is relevant. The price is in US dollars, so I would have to pay $27.99 US as opposed to $19.99 us. Then it gets converted to our currency once processed on my credit card. Not a big deal but I think I’ll continue to earn via the KEM farming instead of buying them outright. I used my stockpile of donuts on the Golden Goose now I’ll have to build back up for the ice rink. Might have caved for the $20 deal!

  8. I’m so glad I take the time to read this website; now I know to buy the Golden Goose Realty. Thanks !!!

  9. You don’t get donuts when you get all the land. The building pays out 300 cash. I just spent the donuts to rush and get all the land. I make in game cash than I can spend and get about 5 rounds of bonus donuts per 100,000 spent.

  10. So you can simply buy the building and trade in the land tokens for donuts as long as you leave at least one land square unclaimed?

    • No. The option to trade for donuts doesn’t happen until you’ve bought all the land.
You can however continue to build up your land token count as long as 1 tile is open

      • That makes sense. I suppose there’s no way to test what happens if the building only issues money once the land tiles are filled and there’s new land offered. At least not yet. That’s why I love checking in here.

  11. Too bad the ice rink can’t go on ice tiles, it would’ve looked good in the “frozen” part of town…

  12. How do you trade in a land token for donuts?

  13. Does the New Year’s Donuts Deal last until the end of the event? There’s no countdown clock for it, so I don’t know how time I have to get those bonus donuts if I want to get them before the deal expires.

  14. The golden goose sounds amazing. I was saving up for barney but i guess ill go for that. wont have to waste all that money on land.

  15. Thanks for the post, Alissa Are Alice Glick and Hot Flash from the superheroes update last year now two separate characters or has Hot Flash been made into a costume for Alice Glick? I’m curious to know if EA turned Hot Flash into a costume like the other Dependables or if she is still a separate character for Alice Glick. Also, Other than Golden Goose Realty and event prizes, is there any other way of getting the land tokens? 2019 is already off to a great start for TSTO with this update.

  16. I bought Golden Goose and it said I had all available land tokens so I get grind currency at premium rate but the only job is 12hrs giving $300 & 30 EXP

  17. I am nowhere near having all the land that you can buy with cash, but getting the golden goose building seems like a good investment for my donuts now that I have reached level 939 and can earn 150 donuts back in less than a week. Even if EA changes it so you can’t trade tokens for 12 donuts ea. before I get all the land it will allow me to keep my cash for KEMs.Yes, No?

  18. I was so excited for the Golden Goose, I did a little happy dance. My prayers have been answered!

  19. So let me get this …. we get new Buildings, but no Land Token with them ….. but if we want Land Tokens, we need to spend 🍩’s on the Golden Goose Realty? (wow! EA is kinda looking like TinyCo) 🤔

Back to Kem Farming, because that seems to be the best way to obtain Premium Content.

  20. Regarding the Stonecutter Table, it’s 120 donuts with a 60 donut rebate. The “hidden donuts” gets you another 10.

So with a few twists and turns, it’s a NET 50 donuts, correct?

  21. VERY excited about update! THANK YOU for info about Golden Realty (and thanks EA for creating it). I can’t start event (since I put Bart and Milhouse on all day quest, DOH!) You think I would know better! But my son’s account had characters free, so snapped it up there when it became available. His Springfield I can still BUY land with money, but got it now for when the time comes. Just keep redeeming every 12 hours and tokens store up I’m guessing. Rainy day fund! My account is getting low on the land.. so this is a good option (especially when we don’t always get big plop of land to start an event). Also nice to see stonecutters available. Probably one of the best events I never got to play. (I started with Tap Ball).. My hubby and MIL got all those items way back. I was jealous! 🙂 Love it!

    • Store the treehouse and van houten house to free them

      • thank you so much for the reminder! I totally forgot I could do that. As it turned out, I really only missed 1 four hour round, so not bad. Funny that I got so used to the down time and putting folks on 24 hour jobs I forgot! LOL Really need to pay attention to this blog more often! 🙂

  22. I didn’t have all the land tiles like I previously thought, they added 81 possible spaces with this update (none in the Heights though). After you get all the land the Realty switches to producing 300 cash instead of land tokens. Now in the store I can trade in a land token for 12 donuts. I recommend you don’t buy the last land tile, rack up the tokens before you choose to cash in.

    • Thank you jasonphx0804

Might as well earn back as many 🍩’s you had to schill for 😉

    • Switching the building over to producing cash instead of land tokens once you buy up all the land is kind of a crapola move, but if it did continue to produce land tokens It would of made it a better deal then the donut factory.

      • I have sooooooooo many blank spots, that I LOVE this. I mean, really, really love it.

      • I’m disappointed in hearing it wont continue to produce land tiles that I can sell after I get all the land … but I need SOOO much land I will likely be producing land tokens for the next few months to buy it all anyway so I am still super excited about this and will be the first purchase I make when i get the donuts saved …

    • Where exactly in the stor can I trade a land token for donuts? Thank you
