In-Game Update: Not Yet Spring Cleaning and The Mystery of the Brown House

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The very first mini-event of 2019 has hit our games!  As long as you’ve downloaded the app store update from yesterday, you’ll see this pop up automatically in your game.

For this update we’re going to take a look at the mystery of the Brown House, and Alice Glick.

Things kick off with a 6s task each for Bart and Milhouse, followed by a 4hr task for Milhouse and the kids of Springfield to collect Hard Candies.

A TON of content y’all have been asking for is included with this one, so let’s take a look…

Event Ends January 22nd.

Interesting to note it ends on a Tuesday, not a Wednesday.  I think this sets us up for a teaser and/or episode tie-in, followed by an event launching the week of January 28th.

First a note about the Tree Lot from the 2018 Christmas Event…

Some you are reporting that it’s missing from your Springfield.  It’s not technically missing.  It’s still in your Springfield there’s just a visual glitch at the moment making it invisible when it’s turned a certain way.
This has to be corrected by EA, they likely forgot to put an image in the files for it when turned without snow.  I assume this will be corrected via the next update.

Also, yes, you technically can still finish the Christmas questlines if you’ve started them.  Here’s the popup I received on my C game…

Not sure if it means the current questline, to earn all rewards for that one, or just the current part your on to earn that specific prize.  But in any event, yes you can finish what you are working on.

As will all mini-events, there’s a questline prize track to unlock with this.  So here’s a look at this prizes…

Ms. Glick’s House

Springfield University

Alice Glick

Original Brown House

Ms. Glick’s “Have a Knitting Circle” Animation

All of these prizes, in case you didn’t know, will be unlocked via the “Mystery of the Brown House” Questline.  So follow that questline to unlock all of the prizes before January 22nd.

Turbo Tappin’ for that questline will be up a little later today…

As with all events, mini or regular, there are new premium items in the store.  Here’s a look at the new items arriving with this update:

Mighty Pigs Practice Rink and Lewis Clark- 165 Donuts, rink earns 4.5% bonus on all cash and XP.  Lewis can earn Hard Candies, and at a special rate of 8/4hrs. (freemium kids earn 5/4hrs, premium kids earn 7/4hrs.  So Lewis earns better than both)

Box Factory- 65 Donuts. Earns $200, 22xp/8hrs

And what you’ve all been waiting for…

Golden Goose Realty- 150 Donuts.  Earns 1 Land Token/12hrs.  This is a way to get all of the land tokens you can handle to unlock the land.  (and I believe, once you’ve unlocked all of the land you can turn tokens into donuts..but this is unverified (as I have nowhere near all of the available land. Just something I saw noted)

There’s also a TON of returning content hitting our games with this update.  Here’s a look at the returning content…

Another Donut Deal has popped up with this as well…

So for $19.99 (US) you’ll get 450 donuts, instead of the usual 300 Donuts.

A note on the Golden Goose…

It appears, and I don’t know if this is designed this way or not, that the Golden Goose is the ONLY building in Springfield  (see update below) you can rush…for 12 donuts.

Not sure if this is an error on EA’s part or not.  So if you’re planning on rushing I’d do it now, just in case it disappears soon.

Of course, this could be intentional by EA to get some of you to not only pay donuts for the building but pay donuts for each land tile…

Update: As Charles has pointed out to me (and some other folks), there are still some buildings you can rush with donuts.  So take what I’ve said with a grain of salt.

And that’s it my friends!  All of the details behind the latest mini-event to hit Springfield.  Some exciting new stuff (that we’ve been asking for) and a whole lot of returning content!  Just want the doctor ordered to start 2019…

Thoughts on the mini-event?  Thoughts on Stonecutters stuff returning?  Thoughts on the land token earning building?  Thoughts on Alice Glick?  Lewis Clark?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Do the Stonecutter items give bonuses now they’re premium? And… is it worth paying essentially 10 donuts for my missing Stonecutter skins?

    • I don’t think any Stonecutter items gives bonuses apart from the Stonecutter Tunnel entrance which is 2.50%. If you’re missing a few Stonecutter skins then yes it is worth it to get them but if you’re missing a lot of skins then you might have to consider it even with the rebate.

  2. In one of my two games the event hub button is missing, even though the event is properly started. Something always seems to be glitched, right?

  3. I also love the self referential humor this starts out with regarding the brown house. “How are we able to do so many different things here?” 😀

    • stonecut908

The humour / lampooning that starts this Mini Event is spot on 😂

I got the Golden Goose Reality , might as well earn Land Tokens and exploit earning 🍩’s per instructions here (big thank you for rapid updated information from so many). Let’s have fun everybody ! 😊👍

  4. Hooray!!!!!!!! A way to get more land!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. I can rush my Playdough Factory, so there may be other buildings that you can rush.

  6. I convinced my friend to start playing TSTO yesterday and he doesn’t have bart yet and nothing happened in his game even after the update… Is there a way for him to start the questline without bart?

  7. Looks like EA are trying to fix their mistakes with all the premium stuff… I still think they should give us the land token generator for free

    • ashensewpe54

I’d never say no to a freebie from EA (especially if it’s a 6 second build), but via Kem Farming I will obtain those Premiums that interest me (noobs can score lots of Stonecutters stuff at Discount, even the Vault has something great every so often). 👍

  8. It’s an awesome day in Springfield!!! Grabbed Golden Goose Realty, #51 and the table right away!! Plus the Beer n Brawl showed up in my vault this am!! Thanks EA. Thank you Alissa for the brake down on everything. It makes deciding what to get pick up much easier!!

  9. Two things: Golden goose is awesome. Thank you EA. Second: That’s a lot of Stone Cutter stuff being offered. Me thinks we’re going to get another Stone Cutter event.

  10. Between Lewis, the Box Factory, and the Stonecutter Lodge, what should I get?

  11. Do any of the stonecutters award premium rates.

    • Hibbert I believe

    • All of them do

    • I believe that all of them except Krusty, skinner

    • Most of them do, most of the time.

Any task in the Stonecutter Lodge or at the Stonecutter Table (1, 8, 12, 24 hours): premium.

Some of the freemium characters’ 2- and 4-hour Stonecutter tasks are not premium, except those in the Lodge (Moe and Smithers off the top of my head) and Dr. Hibbert’s, I believe because his skin has always been premium (all the others were free prizes during the original Stonecutter event).

    • None of them have visual tasks ? Or am I missing a trigger ?

  12. I got ALL THE LAND and I couldn’t be happier! 😍🙀

    • Can you convert the tokens into donuts?

      • I purposefully left one not purchased so that my goose will keep accumulating them every 12hrs in case EA unlock more land for tokens in the future.

But in answer to your question I think it reverts to dispensing cash instead of tokens. I don’t see any reports of donuts else where.

        • I believe, and I honestly can’t verify this for certainty (as I have no where near all the land), but perhaps I’ll experiment in my “B” game later…if you go into the Donut Store (Get More, Pink Button) you’ll see a Dozen Donuts for purchase for 1 land token. Once you buy all the land.

But again, that’s just what i’ve heard. I have zero evidence of that being the actual case, since I haven’t played around with it myself

      • You can continue accumulating tokens as long as at least one land square is available for you to purchase.

Once you buy the last available square, you can trade your surplus tokens for 12 donuts each.

So it is not a permanent and direct donut generator, but you can get donuts out of it…. However, this seems like something EA might decide to prevent, so while it works this way now be prepared for the possibility that it could be taken away.

  13. There are buildings you can still rush in Springfield but it will take me a year to find em again. One of the hotels im sure

  14. Instant purchase of Golden Goose Realty! It’ a great addition to my Cypress Creek shopping area. 😁

  15. I must say that this is an excellent update and its only day one! In the past two years, the events have been mostly subpar and I have had low expectations for them but EA has really stepped it up here. Classic-era characters like Miss Glick and Lewis Clark. I immediately got Lewis largely due to the Hockey Ring’s XP Bonus or 4.50%. Normally, I pass on premium buildings, but as soon as I read that the Golden Goose Realty earns Land Tokens (and later donuts), I bought the building instantly. Good thing I KEM-farm.

As for the mini-event itself, I should be able to breeze through it as I already have Sherri/Terri, Squeaky Voiced Teen, Alison, and Angelica Button in my Springfield. Also, I already have all the Stonecutters skins/characters.

On another note, I had 700+ donuts (largely due to KEM-farming and Kiwi Bars) prior to this morning. I wanted to wait until what the new update would be. I have the Jet Engine Bikes in my vault this week and bought a few of them. I have most of the Vault characters (the only missing character is the dodge-ball gym teacher) and almost all the premium characters that aren’t limited-time/event-specific. Combined with some Mystery boxes and Lewis, I increased my XP Bonus from 525% to 560% Currently, I’m down to 100 donuts. My goal is to get at least 650% XP Bonus.

  16. I saw the cost of Golden Goose and was like, “Is it made of magic?” So I tapped the info and bought it immediately 😁

  17. Whoooooooo hoooooooo!!!!!! Golden Goose Really!!!!

  18. Land ahoy!!!!

  19. Thanks for the info. You have to wonder about the thinking of the people at EA who price the skins differently but all have a net price of 10.

    • I think it’s the price they came back at another time (premium character ones were less, freemium character ones were more), so they just added the rebate

  20. I will be getting the stonecutters this year I think. This update seems to be really good. a good start for 2019…

  21. Very pleased with this mini event
    Mrs Glick 👍
    Glick house 👍
    Original brown House 👍
    Springfield university 👍
    Golden goose realty 👍👍👍
    Lewis Clark 👍
I brought every stonecutters item last time so all in all very good EA

  22. Well, it’s partly recycled content, but good partly recycled content! My biggest regret in TSTO was missing half the original Stonecutters event, the thing I was looking forward to most. I can finally get the rest of the skins, buildings and items.

“No, Ned!!! Just candy!! 90 dollars!!”

  23. Thanks a lot Alissa! I grabbed Golden Goose Realty right away. The mildly-premium gain of kids like Sherri&Terri, SVT and Alison was a nice surprise 🙂

  24. Dead pleased with the Golden Goose Reality, snapped that up without a thought. Got Lewis Clark and the Ice Hockey Rink. As my husband puts it, I am such a % bonus whore 😉 It’s nice that the character helps the event and the building/decoration has % bonus to boot. Would of been nice if he was voiced but I guess we can’t have everything. That’s one of the things I would like to see EA do more of this year, offer % bonus’s on buildings and decorations with Character bundles.

Have all of the Stonecutter items and have passed before on both Capitol buildings and Preppers Compound. I may get the box factory only that it will fit in eventually (when my dear hubby finishes redoing my Springfield after I exploded it :-O) with the slide and fireworks factory. Other than the crowds I’ve not been offered anything else

Still waiting on that Clash of the Clones to make another appearance- maybe later this year – one hopes. 🙂

  25. All the returning stonecutter stuff?
Please EA…bring us STONECUTTERS II for the new year!

  26. Snagged the Golden Goose Realty. Finally a way to get much needed space! If you can actually convert land tokens into 12 donuts as rumored all the more better. That’s 1 donut per hour as opposed to the Lard Lad Donut Factory which is .25 donuts per hour and cost 6 times as much as this building. So glad I passed on that one.

    • I have all land unlocked already and so far can’t see any way to turn land tokens in for donuts. I have a ton already, just waiting.

      • How did you unlock all of the land? That’s a lot of land tokens.

      • Alissa, I too am a bit perplexed by all the posts (here and other forum) saying people now have all the land.

I’ve been playing since Whacking Day, got a large number of land conversion tokens from Krustyland, bought all of the ‘for in game cash’ land tiles and have used all but 13 land tokens (these were accrued in the most recent events.) I used all previously allotted tokens as soon as they were awarded. I’m nowhere near having all land, so it seems that perhaps many people have rushed Golden Goose tokens with donuts.

As far as the ‘tokens for donuts’ conversion is concerned, I’ve seen a few theories: 1) you can’t buy certain specific land tiles or the conversion won’t work, 2) you must keep a minimum of one land tile unpurchased for the conversion to kick in. I have no theory – I’m waiting for Addicts crew to sort it out. Meanwhile, I’m not buying land yet until all the details of GG generated tokens and token to donut conversion is explained here.

Thanks much to the Addicts Team for all your work and effort on behalf of all tappers!

        • “As far as the ‘tokens for donuts’ conversion is concerned, I’ve seen a few theories: 1) you can’t buy certain specific land tiles or the conversion won’t work, 2) you must keep a minimum of one land tile unpurchased for the conversion to kick in.”

It’s neither. There is no tokens-for-donuts exchange at all until you have purchased ALL the available land.

The point of leaving an unpurchased tile is this: as long as you have at least one tile available for purchase, you can keep accumulating tokens. Once you have, say, 101 saved up you can use one on the last tile then swap the remaining 100 for 1200 donuts. (Disclaimer: this might be feature, or it might be an unintended loophole, so there’s a chance it won’t be there when you’re ready to make use of it.)

After you do that, you won’t get any more tokens from the Golden Goose until more land is unlocked for purchase. You might still get some as event prizes, and you’ll be able to cash those in for donuts.

    • I don’t know about converting tokens into donuts, but if you want tokens in a hurry, it only costs 12 donuts to rush the Golden Goose Realty task…
maybe that’s how the rumors started?
      ~MIB👤

      • Wow wait a minute. I haven’t checked this yet…but EA stopped the ability to rush buildings a while ago. So you’re saying Golden Goose can be rushed? (i haven’t purchased anything yet, still getting back into the swing of things at work after being out for 4 months)

        • Actually Alissa, I’m still occasionally rushing the build on buildings offered in events. As for the Golden Goose…yes, you can rush the task (12 hrs) for 12 donuts, but the build for it is instant…no need to rush it.

          • Rush the build, yes (i do it all the time). Rush the payout, no. I haven’t seen a building with the availability to rush the payout in at least a year…probably longer but my TSTO memory blends together sometimes.

            • I got ya…sorry, I misunderstood🤪

            • Just tested it…yup, you can rush the 12 hour “task” for 12 donuts and it pays out one token. Cool beans!👍😁

            • Most buildings don’t make sense to rush (for example the Spinster City Apartments , I am at 12h 18 m and the want 8 donuts for a $400 reward; Krustyland Hotel 8 donuts for 120 tickets)

              • So what if it makes sense? The point is the ability to rush them used to exist then EA took it away

              • I don’t know about you, but I like things to make sense. 🙂 It was really annoying to accidentally click on the rush button and then try to cancel it (before the confirm spending donuts option existed). I can see being able to rush a character because you might need it to continue/finish a quest. But there should be no way to to rush a building at an extremely worse return than you get for directly converting your donuts for in game cash. I would allow rushing on for items that “craft”, e.g. boardwalks, land tokens.

              • lol here’s the thing…you’re arguing a point that I’m not making.

My point was, EA took away the ability to rush buildings. It’s odd that it’s back with this current building and only this building.

You’re making a point for eliminating the building rush altogether. But I’m not talking about whether the building rush is good or bad. I’m just talking about the oddity of it existing for 1 building and 1 building only..and if that’s a mistake that will be corrected.

              • In my previous post I pointed out 2 buildings you could rush.

              • Ok Charles. It’s important to you, so you win.

              • Yah! Yah! I win!!! I win!!! 😉 LOL — I really don’t care about winning (nee my previous apology) I just like to be accurate and clear.

              • Then you’re reading the wrong website…

It’s run by a woman with a million balls in the air and a terrible case of Mommy Brain, with the assistance of a cranky old guy who, let’s face it, we’re lucky if he remembers to put pants on each day, a fuzzy wookster who’s never around…execept for Podcasts…and everyone’s favorite canadian, who throws so much math at people I can’t even tell if it all adds up 😉

              • I feel for you. My comment was in reference to me, not you or the website. You guys do a great job! I can’t imagine having to read all these comments plus do everything else you do on the site besides living your normal lives. I just try to to add a little help when I can.

              • “My point was, EA took away the ability to rush buildings. It’s odd that it’s back with this current building and only this building.”

Think of this building as more akin to the Squidport entrance than to a regular building, so rushing a land token is a little like rushing a boardwalk tile, only vastly more satisfying.

    • It costs 12 donuts to speed up the 12 hr task, so you can essentially buy a tile for that much…not sure if you can do the reverse and convert a land tile back to 12 donuts. 🤷‍♀️

  27. Looks like no Stonecutter Frink unfortunately.

Also just noticed that Number 67 doesn’t appear in my Stonecutters, More Stonecutters, or Even More Stonecutters collections. Does anyone know where (if anywhere) he shows up?

    • I bought him and he hasn’t appeared in my town. I tried tapping Artie to swap skins and it’s not there. I thought maybe the purchase didn’t work so I went to try buying him again but he’s not there. So I did buy him, but I don’t have him. I followed the help info, logged out, back in, restart phone and nothing 😔

      • * Sorry, should have said, I was referring to number 67

      • Did you check inventory? I’ve had them go there 1st,,tap “use” for it to show up for whatever character uses it. More than likely that’s where it is.

    • He’s in my “Stonecutters” collection, second to last. I’ve had him since the original event, though, not sure if there’s a glitch with the returns.

    • I cant find 67 either and I don’t have him. Alissa?

  28. still no update 🙁

    • Did you download it from your App Store yesterday?

Try searching Tapped Out in your App Store. If that doesn’t work uninstall and reinstall TSTO

    • I had to:
      Go to the App Store
      Search The Simpson’s Tapped Out
Click on the App Description/ Information button
Once THAT opened, I gain access to the Update Button

Did that about 4 hours ago.

  29. Hey so after i updated my phone, my santa’s village dissapeared any idea on how i can get it back?

  30. It is definitely the best event this year so far!
