Showoff Announcement: Not Yet Spring Cleaning

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

We’re nearing done with the first event of 2019!  And I know it’s unusual, but I want to see what you’ve done with all of this Spring Cleaning Stuff!  With two houses, a university, a hockey rink, and a factory I want to see what you’ve done with all of this stuff!  How you incorporated it into Springfield, and if it’s all working for you.

So prep those towns…because we want to see what you’ve done with your Springfield!…because it’s always so helpful to see what others have done with all this new stuff!   So send us your Not Yet Spring Cleaning inspired designs and we’ll be putting up the Showoff post, featuring your designs, on Tuesday, January 22nd, 2019…so you’ve got the weekend to get your town to your liking and send in those shots!

So grab some screenshots of your town, or finish up those designs…just make sure to send your submissions in by about 8pm ET MONDAY, January 21st, 2019.  Can’t wait to see what YOU have come up with.

You can send your designs in two ways…either post a link to the image in the comments on this post or you can email them to us at TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com.  We won’t be pulling images from anywhere else, so please if you want to be featured either submit in the comments below or email your images to us.

Note: PLEASE try to limit your submissions to only 1-2 of your favorite screenshots.  We like to try and let everyone showoff their town but it becomes difficult when some of you are sending in 7-10 images.  Pick your favorite areas and send them in (or if you stitch photos together, that works too).  We’ll try our best to get EVERYONE in, but please understand that sometimes we miss a photo or two.  If we miss you one week, we’ll try really hard to make sure we get you in the next week.  You’re always welcome to showoff your town, at any time, on our Flickr page.  We know a lot of you have awesome towns that you want to show off, but please try to stick with this week’s theme.  Remember, this isn’t a contest.  There’s nothing to win.  It’s just a fun way to showoff your town and get some design inspiration from your fellow Addicts.  🙂

Do you want to be featured on the next Springfield Showoff?  Post your images  in the Comments below or email us your screenshots at TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com. We can’t wait to see YOUR designs! (Need help with images, just ask.)

  1. Here’s my designs on the prizes. I added the 2 houses in my residential area and done a basic design for the university.

Never done this before so hope it works 🤞

  3. As Alissa pointed out, ” this is not a contest. There is nothing to win here”.
Maybe you should make it a contest, probably many more people would upload their designs then? Just a suggestion. 🙂

    • Because art is interpretive. What one may think is great someone else may think it’s awful. Dont want to discourage anyone from designing

      • Hi Alissa,
art of course is interpretative, but certain laws of attraction exist. Most people are attracted by symmetry, colors that match each other, composition of items etc. Whether something is attractive or not has been researched by psychology a lot, and there is significant congruence on how people judge beauty, design and art. Art is often judged, too, for example when people apply for a university of art or design. There are also other other TSTO sites that do design contests with a jury on a regular basis. These contests are predominantly very appreciated and most people are eager to show their designs. Most people are more motivated than discouraged showing their designs.
Just wanted to mention this, of course it’s ok how TSTOADDICTS handle the showoffs and I’m not criticizing it.

        • I just spent 4 hours at the MOMA a couple of weeks ago…and Incan tell you, “art” is subjective. There were some “treasures” there that just left me saying… “huh…?

Others that made me weep in awe.

          • This is not the point. It does not matter what ONE individual likes when we talk about attraction in general. I studied psychology and I can tell you, there are common treats of what attracts human beings. Congruences exist of what humans consider as beautiful or ugly. For example, advertising just would not work without these rules of attraction.
By the way, maybe most people would consider the pieces of art YOU disliked also as ugly and agree with you, maybe not. But if we would ask 10000 people whether they like or dislike a piece of art and why they dislike it, there would always be a clear valid result.

            • Ps. There is a difference between subjective and interpretative. Please read my 2nd post again, I did not talk about “subjective “.

            • The point is, I don’t want to make a contest over how someone designs. I believe that the game should be played how you want to play. Everyone does something different. And if you make it a contest it turns into “well I’m not going to submit anything because I’m never going to win”. When that person may not win, but their design might inspire someone else to design their town. And that inspiration wouldn’t hit if they never submitted their design because they didn’t think they were going to win.

              • Sorry, didn’t want to start a psychological discussion here.
I didn’t want to tell you how you should handle the showoffs (as I already said earlier) and I completely understand your point.

I was just suggesting a contest (maybe with a few prices for 1st to 10th place or whatever) because I thought you’d probably motivate MORE people to take part.

I only know people who don’t think it’s worth the effort it takes to produce good pictures (design a piece of SF, use several tools/programs to stitch a lot of screenshots together and send them to you) if there is no benefit to do so. It just takes a lot of time doing it “the Bunny way” using MS Publisher etc. if you want make it look good, so I understand people not submitting.
Again, it was just a suggestion, don’ t want to tell you how to run the showoffs.

Have a nice day, Alissa and team, thanks for the answers!

  4. My ‘not yet spring cleaning’ has involved setting up the University and finally giving Stacy Lovell her compound. As to the latter, the screenshot amused me (perhaps more than it should) as you can see Smithers, who looks like he has been tempted away from the Stonecutter’s Lodge by the presence of all things Malibu Stacy, looking into the grounds whilst Stacy looks on disapprovingly (or perhaps she is just drunk):

  6. Been grinding my ass off for the last 7-8 days getting my donuts up from 118 to 150, did everything from Maggie’s game, debris around the town, other friends towns, and the daily tasks and today finally got the golden goose, nearly considered using a Googleplay gift card i had but i have always played this game Freemium and didn’t want to change that now. didn’t honestly think i’d make it. glad to have got it now as its almost like printing donuts and obviously land tiles. now just to play the waiting game. thanks for the info on it originally 🙂

  7. Some new update is on the way, I have had update on iOS today. Like couple of mega (tipical for every update). Anyone else?

  8. Oh boy! I love showoffs (watching others’, that is), but then I always feel a beginner 😂

    Thanks Alissa! ❤
