Hey Tappers!
Two and a half years ago yesterday, we saw 73 characters (64 including 8 combos) not yet in our games battle it out in 10 weeks of vigorous head-to-head matchups, we crowned the winner of the very first Bracket Battle on August 19th 2016 in this post here.
However, over the past two and a half years, we have seen many of those 64 characters enter our towns. So let’s take a look back and see just how much the game has changed over the past thirty months.
Let’s start by taking a look back at the final Bracket:
The Bracket Battle was divided into eight conferences: Men, Boys, Pets, Combos, Doppelgangers, One Hit Wonders, Girls, and Women.
MEN

Darcy, Francine, and Annika all remain absent from our games, though the top 5 have joined in the past year and a half since I wrote “so get crackin’ EA and find a way to release them into our games” after no girls were introduced in the 12 month retrospective in August 2017.
N.B. Mary Spuckler was added by popular demand into this conference and replaced Alaska Nebraska who is a limited-time character that was released on August 15, 2017, during the Homerpalooza Event.
WOMEN
Sarah Wiggum is a limited-time premium character that was released on August 17, 2018, during the Moe’s Ark 2018 Event, as part of Sarah Wiggum Gil Deal. Post
Alice Glick is a limited-time FREEMIUM character that was released on January 9, 2019, as part of the Not Yet Spring Cleaning 2019 Event. Post
Jenda is a limited-time FREEMIUM character that was released on February 6, 2019, during the Love, Springfieldian Style 2019 Event. Post

Like Girls, none of the Women from the Bracket Battle had entered our game at the 12 month retrospective. While a few have joined over the past few weeks in 2019, Judge Harm, Gov. Bailey, Coach Pommelhorse, and Bea all remain absent from our games.
So while 17 characters had entered our game at the time of the 12 month retrospective, over the past 18 months that number has risen to 40. Of the 40, which one were you most excited to see? Most of you know I’d been rooting for the Nerds for several years, so to have Benjamin, Doug, and Gary in our games was my favourite from the Bracket Battle. Someone wrote Dr. Zaeus. I second that. Also the characters from Family Guy and Futurama. Sonic Youth, Cheech and Chong, George and Barb Bush. Pepi. All Phil Hartman characters (to honor him for such memories as marrying Selma, badly representing the Simpson’s legal interests, and being a better Big Brother than Homer). The Carnies.
And even though she was introduced before, bring back Kodos. I missed her and want her.

That’s the worst name I’ve ever heard.
What about the “Boob Lady” from the Simpson’s movie?
Yes, she should definitely be added to game, although the best time for adding her would be during a winter-themed event because of all the snow, and she lives in a very snowy area.
Over the last 30 months, there have been 5 men (6 from the occasional Gil visit), 5 boys, 1 pet (4 from Pinchy, Tim Lovejoy’s dog walking task and Lou or a cow that looks like Lou appearing at Cheddarbarrel Farm), 5 combos or 11 characters from combos, 4 doppelgangers, 5 one hit wonders, 5 girls (6 including Alaska Nebraska) and 4 women from the bracket challenge have made it to the game. In the game, 30 of these characters are premium and 10 of them are free or prizes when they were first released as well as 3 of them appearing in the game but not as characters just in a way.
It’s great that recent event have been bringing in more memorable buildings, characters and decorations with some more of them being available as prizes in events. I’d like to see more pets as characters or NPCs in the game since there isn’t many of them but I would like to see Sir Oinks a Lot, Raymond Bird and Laddie to appear and add to the animal population.
Is there a Pinchy character in the game?
Kind of, its not the Pinchy we know from the show but a crobster (crab and lobster) clone of Pinchy at the Soilant Red factory from the Superheroes 2 event in 2016. It’s isn’t a character with tasks or an NPC but part of the factory as some of the building’s skins.
We might get the first Pinchy someday who I hope would be a full character since he can have tasks like “Chase Birds”, “Have a Hot Bath” and “Go for a Walk”.
Those tasks would be hilarious. Here’s to hoping they include him as a character some time soon. Hint. Hint 😉
I have a bad feeling there’s gonna be another week long break that feels like eternity, not only for this event. For all multi events. I just have to suck it up and try to think of the good side. I really what new content soon tho.

Yes there is a number of those characters we have not received to enter the game, yet still many that weren’t in the bracket, [besides the Phil Hartman characters] such as more upper-class/wealthy Springfield Hieght people, more Springfield students, more Theatrica/Artistic folks, puppies and dog training, Future characters, Non-Cannon story_telling versions/doppelgängers, and of course much more THOH doppelgängers.
Perhaps it’s time to have a new bracket battle 😛

I’ve only wanted three things from this game from the very beginning (and have had 2 of them for a long time now). I wanted:
1. The egg from the StoneCutters
2. Lisa’s recycling plant
3. Lionel Hutz

No, your English was correct. The expression is “cost an arm and a leg”, as you stated. However, as the character has an arm for a leg and a leg for an arm, I was joking that the expression should have an arm for a leg and a leg for an arm and instead of being “cost an arm and a leg” should be “cost a leg and an arm”.

I LOVE that character.
I was the most excited when Roy was added to the game. He is my most favorite “Simpons” character besides the Simpson family themselves. Gil, John, and Karl are the only characters from the Bracket Battle who have not yet been added to the game that I want. Also, Gil should maybe also be offered as his own Gil Deal, and he should be given a permanent job that earns Donuts. And John should get comboed with his store, Cockamamie’s.
Or if you buy Gil you get a discount on future Gil deals.

Safi, I really like these bracket battles. For this summers, I think you should re-do the character one since we’ve had so many appear in the game now. It would be fun to have a post where the community could give you ideas/suggestions for which characters we still want and you could put those in the bracket. 🙂 Thanks for doing these, Safi!

I agree. A new Bracket Battle for characters should be done because there so many other popular characters out there that didn’t get included in the previous battle (which I didn’t get to vote on because I didn’t have, yet, at the time of the previous Bracket Battle). These are just some of the characters that I want added to the game: Fox Mulder and Dana Scully (either grouped together in a combo, or added separately. I don’t care how they’re added, I just want them in my Springfield); Fry, Leela, Bender, and Dr. Zoidberg (they are my favorite “Futurama” characters. Bender, at least, should be added, preferably with an animated “Babysit Maggie” job and comboed with his Pharaoh Bender skin, and his monument); the boob lady from “The Simpsons Movie”; Lady Gaga (not a fan of her work, but she should have been in the Homerpalooza event; the Green Day band as seen in the movie; and the other six monster minions from the Halloween 2018 (at least as NPC’s).

Also, I was thinking that if you definitely decide to do another Bracket Battle for characters, it should have 10 conferences instead of 8. In other words, in addition to having new sets of characters for all of the conferences listed above in your post, there should also be a conference for aliens, and a conference for monsters (and other supernatural entities), so that all of the popular aliens and monsters/supernatural entities that have not yet been added to the game can be represented in a Bracket Battle for characters as well.
Any Phil Hartman voiced character would be a great addition; however, it will likely never happen. My hope is 18 more characters are added before the game is shut down so I can reach 400 income-earning characters!
My hope is 218 more characters at least. 🙂
i am at 361 playable characters and uncountable number of costumes and NPCs
Is there a way to count them in a simple way?
I can’t think of a way with NPCs. As for just playable characters, the easiest way to count your characters is to have no characters sent on task, then go to the unemployment office and send x number of characters to a y hours length task and count how many additional characters you have that can’t be sent to a y hour task.
For instance, I can send 392 characters on a 4 hour task and then have 2 additional characters that don’t have a 4 hour task, so I have 394 playable characters.
That’s how I got my total playable characters
This would be assuming that you have no unfinished quests or daily tasks, since those characters that have a quest or a daily task to do do not count towards the totals at the unemployment office.
I made a list of all of the characters that are currently in the game, and I keep track of the ones that I have unlocked by highlighting them. You could do something similar and use different colored highlighters in order to separate the playable characters from the NPC’s, and the skins. Then you would be able to easily count the total number of characters that you have. I recommend, though, that you use a computer for making the list so that it is easier when adding new characters.
