State of Despair Prize Breakdown: The Museum of Zippers

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

After a week hiatus, we finally have some new content in Springfield!  A new mini-event went live in our games…State of Despair.   New event means new prizes to earn and new prizes mean it’s time for everyone’s favorite prize breakdown posts!

Remember, this event is designed to follow a series of tasks via the questline to unlock prizes.  For each of the parts of the State of Mine questline, you’ll have to earn  via various character tasks in order to unlock the prize for that part.

So let’s take a look at the second prize, the Museum of Zippers…

How You Get it:
State of Mine Pt. 2
Make Homer Have an Eating Contest- 4hrs
Collect State Pasta- x250.

Other Details:
Size: 2×2
Build Time: Instant
Earns: Nothing
Conform-O-Meter:

What Does it Do?:
Comes with a 2 part questline.  Animated when tapped.  Martin has a 4hr task there “Search for wet paint to watch dry”
WDTCF: The idea of it,  Zipper Hall of Fame…”Adventures in Baby Getting” S24, E3

Comes with it’s own questline…

Skip and Zip Pt. 1
Martin starts

Martin: Wow, the Museum of Zippers! Before this, I was a steadfast button fly man, but now I’m inspired to make a change.
Bart: Martin, you could be inspired by paint drying.
Martin: Wet paint! Where?
Make Martin Search for Wet Paint to Watch Dry 4hrs, Earns $175, 45xp

Skip and Zip Pt. 2
Lisa starts

Lisa: Dad, can I take off this blindfold? I’m sitting in something sticky and I want to see what it is.
Homer: Not until – NOW!
Lisa: We’re at the Zipper Museum?
Homer: Surprise sweetie! You’ve gotten such good grades that I wanted to do something nice for you. And the Zipper Museum was the first thing that came up in the phone book. I then realized I was looking at the phone book upside down. Now why don’t you enjoy some father/daughter time alone while I go to Moe’s.
Make Lisa Get Abandoned for her Good Behavior- 4hrs, Earns $175, 45xp

And that’s it my friends, the details on the Museum of Zippers, the second prize on the State of Despair mini-event prize track.

Thoughts on the Museum?  Tiny huh?  Where have you placed it in your Springfield? Sound off below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. This is one of those buildings that is too small like the university.
There are some that are too big like the Deuces Caboose Chilli Dog.
It would really improve the game if the developers built so the perspective was consistent. Especially now there is so much room.
My other bugbear is when they build a building that is five deep when the land tiles are 4×4.

  2. State of Despair Mini-Event
One Building, One Character worth it
The other Prizes can Get Bent!
    (as in I stored it!)

The Mystery Box is the real Prize
You’re better off Kem Farming for
    Presidential Combos galore!
    vs Tasking for
    💩 Decor!
    That’s a waste of time!

Who else had more fun with the Mystery Box? 😀

  3. I kind of find the task here pointless since it doesn’t animate it and Martin has another 4 hour task which he already has at the Box Factory, Magic Tower and Paris Hotel along with his “be cool” task. Considering that this was only a replica of the actual museum of zippers both in the game and show, it would be interesting to see what the actual museum of zippers looked like and how big it is.

    • I think Martin’s best task is still in his wizard persona…4 hr task to battle comic book guy on the roof of Android’s Dungeon. They are permanently battling in my town (Martin with his wand and CBG with a pool noodle) and a group of spectators are cheering in the parking lot below.

      • I forgotten about that task since I have Martin and CBG either working at the Rail Yard or earning for events. Thanks for the reminder, I will have to send them on it sometime because I haven’t used Wizard Martin since the Halloween event with the beasts nearly a year and a half ago. 🧙‍♂️

  4. Thanks! That worked!

  5. Are you sure this is a museum and not a kerbside zipper dispenser?

  6. Simpsonaddict

I can’t remember where I put it, my towns that big now. I do like the government style buildings in this event, it’s let me build a nice little area around my town hall and i’m looking forward to placing the war memorials around there too

  7. I have the perfect place for it!!!
    Storage.

    • Me too…tried it in a couple places and realized it really does nothing to enhance any of them…into the abyss it goes.😁

  8. I randomly saw my Stardust Drive-in animated, but I have not been able to figure out WHO did it. Please help!

    • In my town it was once animated by countess Dracula. I think the job was ‘mingle with the warm bloods’. Strangely, when I tapped on the drive-in it didn’t show that the countess was in there but when she’d finished the job she came out! I think she only animates the drive-in if it’s the closest building to her though, otherwise she goes to another building where she can mingle. Hope this helps.😊

      • Mine gets animated by L.T Smash if he’s nearby for the 1 hour Shop for Doomsday Supplies task. I don’t think I’ve seen the Countess there.

    • Countess Dracula perhaps!? She has been using a lot of buidings that haven’t been in use since the event they’re from. And when you tap on that building it doesn’t indicate there’s someone inside like it does with other characters. So it might’ve been her on her 24hr task.

You could figure it out by storing said building while all your characters are on a task and then taking it back out of storage. The character that’s free again is the one who was using the building.

  9. Making string progress on this event and on schedule to receive Governor Bailey in the next hour or so.
Been focusing my minions on the pasta tasks at the expense of other tasks, so my taskbook has a lot going on at the moment. I’ll loop back to those once I have the Governator.
Also, I’ve been able to parlay my KEM farming “crops” into the event mystery box which I’ve just today emptied. Added Ike, Teddy and Pres Lisa to my town. I do like the event mystery boxes as a mechanism to catch up on old, missed content.

  10. Could this be the most underwhelming prize ever?

  11. The museum is waaaaaay too small. How is Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” jacket ever going to fit in there!

  12. Started State of Mine pt. 3 and the “lead job” is to “Make Marge Make a Case for Springfield”. I click on “do it” and it opens my storage! No such job listed under Marge’s jobs to complete. The “Skip and Zip Pt. 1” task is still in progress. Do I have to finish it first or have I stored a building Marge needs to the main quest line?

    • Tire Fire is where she goes in my game.

If you don’t own that the files indicate she goes to the Simpsons House. but if you own the Tire Fire and it’s just in your inventory it may be trying to send her there.
