Yearbook Mystery Box

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Wowsers the latest mini-event to hit Springfield brought us the ultimate Mystery Box!  With over 700 items (737 at my count), the Yearbook Mystery Box is the largest single Mystery Box to ever hit our pocket-sized towns.

This isn’t your ordinary Mystery Box.  No, this is a premium box full of almost every limited-time (and not so limited-time) premium item and prize to ever hit Springfield.  It’s pretty insane.

Because this box is different than a standard Mystery Box I’m going to treat this post different than the standard Mystery Box post.  For starters, this is going up shortly after the event hit our games because I know this is the info you’re all really wanted to know.  And I’m going to breakdown what’s inside, as well as give you some tips to get what you really want in Springfield.  So let’s take a look…

Update:  Since the writing of this post the Mystery Box can be found in the Premium Section of your Store.  Just click the Homer Buddha Icon….

This Mystery Box is a great way to get items you may have missed out on from Previous Events at a low price…30 donuts is a steal for this stuff!

And…because there are items that are not unique in Springfield, everyone will see a Mystery Box in their game.

At the premise, this is like your basic Mystery Box.  Spend 30 donuts and have a shot at a variety of premium characters, skins, decorations, and buildings from events of the past!  30 Donuts is equal to or less than the initial value for each item (unless they were initially prizes, in that case, they were originally free)

What’s different about this box is it only shows 5 items at a time.  Meaning you have a 20% chance to get one of the items 5 items you see in your box at any given time.

How do you see new items appear?  Hit the Blue Refresh Button…

and your 5 Mystery Box Prizes will change to show 5 different prizes…

(Not that I need to explain but, yes, these are screenshots from two different games.  I initially was in my main Springfield for the first screenshot.  Then jump to my lower level game to check out the returning content and just took a MB screenshot from there)

So the best strategy for the Mystery Box is to refresh your box until you see 5 items you like and/or want.  Then go for it.  Or at the very least, make sure there’s something you want in that group of 5 before trying.

It’s also important to note, yes there’s the Donut Truck, Donut Boat and Donut store in the box.  THEY DO NOT AWARD FREE DONUTS.  They’re just decorations/buildings from previous Donut Days.  There are NO FREE Donuts in this box.

Also, yes you may have screens that only show 1 or two items.

And, because there are some items that are not unique (like the Whale) your box shouldn’t disappear from your game..even if you think you have everything.  At least not until the mini-event ends.

Yearbook Mystery Box Leaves Games on March 26th
(on 3/14 an app store update was released, Classless reunion Patch 1, that removed the timer from the game box. FWIW there never was an official end date written in the files for the Box (before or after the patch).  So no telling if this will stick around after the 26th or not.

And now, here’s what you can win…

Listen, there are 737 items.  I’m not doing my normal Mystery Box Breakdown.  I’ve got a full list in Alphabetical Order of what’s in the box, and (if available) i’ve linked it to the SIB post or prize post so you can see more details.  If you want to know what it is/does or how much it originally cost click that link.

Listwise, it appears in the files with other names and in some case without indicating characters coming with them (if they do).  I tried to go from memory to indicate characters, but I know I missed a bunch.  If it came with a character before it’ll come with it again. Go by the pictures you see in the box, not my list.  My list is just so you know every possible item available.

30 donuts is a fantastic steal for a lot of these items.

And that’s it my friends!  The details on the Ballot Box Mystery Box….

What are your thoughts on the Mystery Box? Have you tried it yet? What have you won so far? What do you hope to get? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Omg…if i tap the “question mark” instead of the “refresh” on there ONE MORE TIME😡……lol

  2. My mystery box completely disappeared. I was able to play 3 times and now it won’t launch! It’s still there, though when I click on it nothing happens!

  3. Thanks to you guys that run this site. You all do an awesome job getting info to us.

After several hours of work in the game, I cleaned out the box last night. Ended up about 200% up on bonus, several new characters, and a lot of new buildings. Fun time!!!

Before anyone ask, I already had 2000+ donuts from farming and over 1.2 billion in game cash before the box.
    Can’t wait for next box!!!

  4. Nighmare Wiillie is missing from the list

    • No it’s not. It’s listed under spider willie.

Because it’s such a long list I just went directly with what they files call the items, not necessarily what they are in the game.

  5. So far I’ve scored: Springfield Gorge, The Springfield sign, the pet store w/Jubjub, the Wilted Rose, Springfield Hunting Supplies, Cremo, the Toll Booth, Fireworks, Candy and Puppies, the Chimp Refuge, the Re-Neducation Center, a Worldwide Broadcast Dish and a Whale (two-eyed).

I’ve wanted the Gorge and the sign for a while now but haven’t been willing to spend the do-re-mi-nuts. For less than the price of the two of them, I got all of the above (which includes three new full characters and a smack-load of bonus%). As a fairly new player, I will definitely be going back for more before this box goes away!

  6. Thanks for all your work Alissa. This was above and beyond.

  7. There is a pattern for the boxes. I have 96 unique REFRESHES. I did this a couple times. I started on Frank Grimes as #1. Fiesta Terrace came up on the 13th refresh. Springfield Museum 31st. Powell Motors came up 75th. Roosevelt came up 77, 77. Stu came up 86. Lugash 88.

I have 83 unique items in Column 4. Senior Ding Dong is #1. Pow Wow is 70, Eisenhower is 74, Lincoln 76, Lurleen 81.

If I hit refresh enough (or was smart at math to figure it out), I can wait until those line up and have better odds of getting 2 of the items I want. Of course once I buy those I’d need to do the pattern agiain..Maybe @Safi can help.

  8. It looks like they put one expensive item in every five shown. Seems like you get the least expensive item first forcing you to spend 90-150 donuts on the high priced item. I’ll buy a couple, but I’m not going overboard with this. Cool concept though for sure.

    • Ya think? Yep. EA is clever that way.

    • Mine has been a little more random than that. Got the character/building combo i wanted on the second go. But yes, EA makes sure to get there’s. At least it’s a 1 in 5 chance of getting what you want, with the odds improving each time. If it was a 1 in 700 chance, i wouldn’t bother at all.

      • Mostle random but mine currently has three characters, two with buildings, Sprongfield shopper, hunting supplies and Cayman Island banker, one skin, homers camera hat, and a blue nerd thing. Seems pretty good to me compered to some i have refreshed through.

  9. My goodness the amount of time you spend helping us out is astounding!!! Thanks.

  10. Just a couple of notes…
    1. The Old English Station (monorail) is also known as the Magic Station.
    2. This station has never come with extension pieces, but one way you can expand the station is by using Classic Mansion pieces (Springfield Heights):

    https://i.imgur.com/NWdzph1.jpg

  11. Im loving this box, so far I have been able to buy 32, and have got 16 new characters (I am missing a lot) also built up 24.75% bonus
This box will keep my focused on the game the next 12 days trying to amass currency I can KEM farm out … Would love to pick up as many characters as possible

anyone know how many there are total? like with 1 hr tasks (easiest way I know to count them)

    • I believe there are 403 playable characters (skins not included) and 144 NPCs

But i could be totally wrong on that #

      • Your math is accurate. I have 399 characters and am only missing four playable characters. Wish the four missing characters were in this box!

      • OK thank you, I should have almost 200 now, so still need a lot more, hope to be able to get some good ones from this event

  12. Honestly of ALL the stuff in my mystery box….i only want about 5 or 6 things. Theres lots of junk i didn’t want before…..still feel the same. Why the hell even bother with the ghost zapper thing? Lol. And i don’t want the NPC event tap-ables….. There is a lot of cool stuff…but i cant seem to make my 5 items to choose from worth it. I’ll end up spending 150 for something that isnt/wasnt worth 150 in the 1st place. I do have donuts to waste…so I’ll have some fun.
I did get the giant hat skin for homer….which is cool. But then i goofed this morning and sent him on his 24 hr task for it! Doh. I’ll speed it up later….it’s just the principle of it. Lol
I do like the variety though!

    • You’re right there with me. There was 1 thing I wanted, the Krusty Monorail Station..now that K-land is in Springfield. Other than that, nothing.

  13. Maybe they are doing this because they have a plan to end donut farming.
I hate to say it but it might be possible.
I hope I am wrong. Who knows.

  14. this should be permanent, lol

  15. Holy rusted metal, Batman. It’s going to take me awhile to really grok this box!

  16. It took me almost 10000 donuts, but I’ve done it. I’ve emptied the box.
    I’m one crazy motherfarmer 😐

  17. An very impressive list, start shopping ;o)
Last time i missed the Golden Goose Realty and its unfortunately not inside the list. Need landmarks, cant place my new items 8(

  18. I already had Kang but I just got the ray gun from this and it shows him flying around it. I tried tapping the gun to shoot him down but it doesn’t seem to do anything. Is this still an option or is the animation just permanent now?

    • You may be stuck. I think there are some elements of this EA didn’t think out…like what happens to people who don’t have the Ray Gun because they got Kang for free as a stand alone

      • I am happy I got the Ray Gun. Been wanting this for over three years. At least Kang can finally do his 24 hour job! Now I just need Respectable Moe, Chrismas Volcano Lights, Pack two and three for Villan Alley and I will be super happy! Been waiting years for those items as well. I am also so very happy to finally have Duff Gardens with Lisa!!!!

  19. I love that EA offered tons of old stuff and that so much of it was random things that never come back, but like some others on here, the bundles messed me up. I bought Mayan Marge and Mayan God before, so once again I’m not offered Mayan Homer, and I have Snake Rock and Hollow Snake Log, so I’m not offered the Lumpy bundle. If you are reading this EA, please add adjustments to these bundles.

    • Contact EA help. I have done this twice this week. I had the Presidential Estate and was not offered Freedom as Freedom was part of that bundle. Also, The Time Travelers bundle was not offerd to me as I had bought two of the three a few events ago. So, I request both Freedom and Plague Rats for free.

      • Did it work? I habe the same problem with 2 combos.
        How to contact EA properly?

Thanks and many thanks to the addicts-team!!!

        • Yes it did work. Just explain that you have part of the combo and cannot purchace your missing item from the combo. I have done this three times in the past. Each time I was given the missing item from the combo for free.

  20. I think I am having a panic attack!!!! Too much stuff to buy TOO LITTLE DONUTS!!! EEAAAKKKK!!! Lol!!!!

  21. That is an impressive list! 🤪

I finally got Lizard Queen Lisa and duff gardens so I am super happy with this update ❤

Back when it was offered I had a glitch which meant Gil disappeared in my game never to return. I even contacted EA about it a few times begging for her in my game! As a completionist it really bugged me… 😬

    Over the moon now 🙃

Only have the itchy balloon left in my box and I don’t need any more of those. 😊

  22. DesperateFarmer

Wanted to know if anyone knows some old and unique items that are “must-gets”. Something like Golden Goose Reality or Yellow Submarine. Otherwise I’ll just hunt down my favourite characters.

Also for the one who are very eager to maximise their gains. Ever item is fixed to one of the slots (one two five) and every slot has an order in which items come. The reason why you have different boxes is that every slot has a different amount of items.

Imagine like five rulers with different lengths and every line is a unique item. When you reach the end of a ruler you just slide it’s start to where the end was.

This means a few things. You’ll never get two items of the same slot in a box like Sarah Wiggum, either of the Wales, Hungry Hun, Westminster Abby ect.
One could shuffle till all slots align with stuff one wants.
And you could also write a tiny program that calculates how many times you have to refresh in order to get the desired combo. Sadly the program is different for everyone because of the prizes you have already bought. But if you make one, it works beautifully.

And good luck to everyone with opening you favourites!

  23. Too bad kang wasnt included 🙁

  24. Mystery Box

30 sprinkles per chance is a deal, but –

Not enough Premium Characters w/Buildings and too many Character Skins, or unwanted Decorations (well at least for me because it appears I got just about everything I’ve wanted over the years, except a few that are St Patrick’s Day related).👎

I still think the Vault is the best deal right now (everyone’s favorite Ukraine Gym Coach, everyone’s favorite knock off Dolly Parton – both came with Buildings, both are discounted)👍

    • I go for the characters mostly. I keep clicking refresh until i have atleast 2 or 3 characters in the list of five. And i have had more hits then misses.

  25. Whats the best % item to buy in the mystery box after the 3 eyed whale?

    • I got Sarah Wiggum on the first try! She was 300 donuts initially, so I got a 90% discount!

The 3-eyed whale was initially 333 donuts, and I don’t think anything has ever been more expensive than that.

  26. I’m probably not the first person to say this, and I’m probably going to be yelled at for saying it but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I think this mystery box and mini event are indications that the end times are near. Not to mention all the new land. Doesn’t anyone else think this is a little too coincidental?

    • Honestly, it strikes me as the opposite. I don’t see why they would open up more land without a plan for the server traffic. That’s more overhead to run the game. One would hope they would only expand if they’re making money and have plans for more content.

    • Here is my take on if it is the end. They issue all the characters at a cheap (30 donuts) rate to induce people to pay real cash and then shutdown? That would just be a lawsuit waiting to happen. I would say it more of of inducement to get new players into the game, given them an opportunity (now and later) to get what they want. Memory and processing power is cheaper. They have years of stories to get ideas from. The code is already built. They just need artists to design new characters and buildings.

In the end, this game is a cash cow.

      • When they shut down the game in Asia (can’t remember which country specifically), they gave several months notice and disabled the ability to purchase new donuts for cash well in advance of the shutdown.
As long as you can spend cash I’m not putting on the tinfoil hat.

        ie Charles is correct.

  27. I love this mystery box idea! Thank you for the break down. This must have taken hours. I hope they do this style of mystery box again. I’ve won 3 items that I’m very happy with. Thanks again.

  30. Love love loved this update. My Springfield is back to 100% complete.

Not a single item missing. As mentioned above there is a Northern Leperchaun glitch. I was able to “rebuy” the character and got a duplicate sign decoration with purchase.

Overall amazing tho. The High Glow Waste Barrels are finally mine!!
