It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

Well, we kinda sorta had something that resembled an update in TSTO this past week. Our games sure downloaded content and a questline. I don’t know if I’d really classify it as an update though. To me, it feels more like “busy work” your assigned when your real teacher is out sick and you have a substitute that day. Come on EA, you can do better. Ask Mr. Bergstrom for help if you need it. Anyway, your thoughts on the content? Questline? What would you have done differently?

I’m redesigning my golf course, so I can add a back 9 (!). There are some decorations I want I know I don’t have, but I wanted to put some bleachers on hole 18 – finishing hole, don’t ya know. Anyhoo, I stocked up on such things when Marge’s deals were around, and now I can’t find any Single Bleachers in my inventory. Lots of Boxing Rings, and Golf Courses, but no more lights or bleachers. I’ve been through each category 3x, and the overall inventory 3x, no luck.
If anyone has Single Bleachers in storage, what category are they under? With that info, I could check AGAIN, and convince myself that they’re just really not there. Which would be bad, but at least a definite answer. When I’m just guessing, I keep thinking _maybe_ I’ve managed to just miss them somehow – hey, I’m old!
OK, anybody else got “sticky” items in the Yearbook Mystery Box? Right now, Animatronic Bears are in the right-most slot, and they are NOT going away, no matter how often I refresh! There’s really not much else in there I want, but it’s just weird that those dang bears will NOT move! Shoo! Shoo!
It is because it is the last item in the category. Once you get it will be shown one less item.
Ah, NOW I get the methodology. Each column/position relates to a category, and once that category is empty, that column/position goes away. I now realize that Bueraner and others made this point earlier, but I had missed that whole discussion. Thanks for clearing that up!
Part of the fun of this game is knowing that it takes a long time to make progress – earning cash, buying land, erecting buildings, earning donuts and getting premium characters. Then, this year, EA made land expansion easy (with GG reality), giving two free land sections a day, cheap premium items (yearbook mystery box), and finally, quick bonuses (SH tennis courts for 10 oscars). My bonus has increased during this event from 338% to 760% and will probably get to 1100% before the event ends. My 35 KEW farm went from 3 levels every 4 hrs (@ 500k per level) to over 7 and will be 9 by next week. This rapid progress is taking the challenge out of the game. On the other hand, summer is coming and its well past time to put this game down (according to my wife) and get to work outside.
When I go to neighbors and spray paint Moe’s it doesn’t mess it up. My hopeful self wonders if this is related to new update coming and will have activities in neighbors’ towns or am I only one having this issue

These disconnections are really starting to annoy. I’ve seen the issue mentioned several times in comments here but assumed it was a temp issue. It happens anytime I collect from multiple buildings at once. One “tap+radius” is OK but not multiple or else..
Also, the game no longer connects at all when I have VPN enabled, which it always has in the past, and I don’t use the internet without a VPN. So, dang.

Well, that’s enough of the SH grinding to get tennis courts… Now I remember why I had no interest in “just getting stuff” to get to the $2B mark.
Once the current round of trophies is done, I’ll get everything restocked and go back to ignore mode.
As long as the tennis courts are available I will get as many as possible. Easy and cheap %. And besides, what else is there to do right now 😉 ? After this “update” ends I’ll go nuts on RTTs, turn all my $ into donuts, then store all the courts…
Just a warning, after you get to 880 tennis courts, it really starts getting hard to have land to place it.
Haha thanks but that’s not very likely anyway. Started with around 300 awards (had none saved with Googolplex) and am now at around 150 courts. Already freeing up some corners in town, but I guess I will get a maximum of 250-300 or something like that…
Booted of the server AGAIN…….BAH!!!!!!
I don’t understand why they didn’t at least give us a baseball stadium with the update. Are they supposed to be playing on the tap-ball field? I hated that tapball event, but a baseball field I could add to my high school and college. I wanted the real football fields to come back too. Ny springfield U. has to play football on a polo field.
1) I di seem to be kicked out of my game into Server Issues purgatory. I have plenty of free space so hopefully it is related to an upcoming Update
2) every 8 hours or so, if I log in, I seem to have accumulated enough bonus points to get more Sprinkles. Free 🍩!
3) QUESTION I pulled some Classic Mansion and Parking Lots out of storage. They are not fully upgraded so they have that rotten Hanging Check Mark. I’ve reached the $2 billion mark (yea!).
Any prognostications- should I spend effort to upgrade and ‘waste’ the SH $$? Or just go for it and hope that I will receive hidden brownie points or that EA will never up the max level.
My life is sooooo complicated that I have to spend time worrying about this issue.
Sorry to complain BUT when I go into the game, I get kicked out after a few minutes. Very, very annoying! Anyone else having this problem?
I’m seeing this more and more lately. Often times, in my experience over the last 6 years, this happens frequently when they’re working on an update. So perhaps it’s a good thing…
I had to phone EA 3 times and they finally just put Side Show Bob in my game because he was in my task bar but never showed up in my town. The quest is still in my bar but I have had him for months now and it didn’t effect anything just sits as an unfinished task. I have read couple other people had to do the same. EA won’t do it on the first call it will take a few calls.
Lots of server problems on my game recently, more than usual, could EA be changing/updating the servers, would that account for tge lull in new events?. Just a thought 🤓
In my experience that’s generally what happens before a massive update.
I’m just hoping it’s not this week lol I leave for vacation tomorrow, i’d love to not have to bring my laptop.

Anyone know when parts 2 and 3 of the flaw and order quest lines open up? I’m level 306 now and they still haven’t popped for me. Sideshow Bob is my favourite character and I really want to unlock him.
Right now just concentrating on opening up a crapload of land. I plan on making a small Shelbyville at the top righthand corner of the game – complete with a highway leading to it. Also in the middle of getting donuts so I can have a small 3 hold golf course, that way I can put the Country Club, tennis courts, and Pro Shop to good use.
Doest the bonus percentage in the conformity meter include the bonus from the reactor?

Up ’til now I’ve been largely avoiding using the job manager due to the significant deduction it takes. However with more than 120 characters to manage its taking more and more time to assign jobs. I’ve been thinking about what Patric o ften says about valuing your own time.
Perhaps it’s time to bite the bullet and start using the job manager.
Uhm…wait until you get to 300 characters. Yes…the “deduction” is well worth the price.
With the extra time I’ve been spending grinding away to get golden trophies to buy green tennis courts, the time saving afforded by the job manager seems well worthwhile, I reckon it saved me at least 20 minutes perhaps more when I updated using it last night.
Office of Unemployment and any of the tasks that send large portion of characters to a single location (and happen to pay premium for their time) is the only way I find the game manageable any more. Having 320 of 400 characters in one place when clearing the town makes a huge difference.
As for the cost of the Office, once you start rolling your conform-o-meter % up, it isn’t that much of a price to pay for convenience!

This made me happier than it really should have (I have previously emailed them at least three times that fallout boy had gone missing (which they gave me really probably when I didn’t deserve it during the yearbook thing when I saw on here that radstation didn’t come with Fallout Boy):
Got this last night Matt, what could be causing this issue is that I see on your land you dont have the building (Superior Squad HQ) that unlocks fallout boy.
I have gone ahead and added that building to your account which in turn unlocks fallout boy. Please let me know this is working for you and you shouldn’t see Fallout Boy go missing again!
Haven’t played in a while… and I gotta say I am LOVING the yearbook mysterybox! I managed to get Barney! And a Bear Cave which is perfect for my Zoo! A couple other things but they aren’t as cool… though I also got Manjula, Brother Faith, and the Street Cleaner!
Also I’d like to add… I’m probably one of the only people who enjoyed this mini event as I never got the sport costumes it provides.
I got Barney too, was really chuffed about that!
Oh sweet man! Yeah I really wanna get the Rigellian Queen, Star Spawn, and something like the giant lobster scorpion which would be good for my zoo.
Good job screwing up the job center. Put it back the way it was. Nothin better than trying to manually send 223 people on 4hr tasks. Now everytime I get a “send sprigfielders on” task it screws everything up. If u cant send ur people on missions before job center that’s ur dumb fault, why do those of us who do things n the proper order get screwed. I love the game but ur slowly making it suck. It was a stress reliever now…. sometimes…. I just wanna….
