Should I Spend Donuts On the Returning Marge at the Bat Buildings or Decorations?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Weird little update in Springfield.  No new content, but a bunch of returning stuff.  Any excuse for EA to stock our stores with returning premium content in our stores, just tempting us to drop those pink sprinkles!

As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the returning Marge at the Bat Buildings or Decorations to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding these throwbacks to your town…

All Returning Items Leave Stores April 24th

Item: Simpson Laser Tag
Cost: 145 Donuts
Earns: $500, 45xp/24hrs
Previous Post: Should I Buy
What Does It Do:
Just a building that earns cash and XP
My Opinion On It Now:
First of all, this is available via the Yearbook Mystery Box for 30 donuts.  So don’t buy it for 145.  Second, don’t buy it at all.  A waste of space in Springfield.  Doesn’t do anything just collects cash and XP.  PASS!

Item: Tailgate
Cost: 200 Donuts
Earns: 4% Bouns on cash and XP
Previous Post: Should I Buy
What Does It Do:
Upgradeable decoration.  Comes with fan NPCs.
My Opinion On It Now:
Another one available via the Yearbook Mystery Box for 30 donuts.  So don’t buy it for 200.  Second, don’t buy it at all.  A waste of space in Springfield.  Not worth it.

Item: Half-Pipe
Cost: 100 Donuts
Earns: Cash and XP/3hrs…i believe
Previous Post: Should I Buy
What Does It Do:
Decoration for Springfield
My Opinion On It Now:
Another one available via the Yearbook Mystery Box for 30 donuts.  And another one not worth the donut investment.  PASS

Item: Training Bundle
Cost:
125 Donuts
Earns:
3% total Bonus on all cash and XP
What Does It Do:
Decorations for Springfield
My Opinion On It Now:
Some items you can get in the Yearbook Box, others you can’t.  Not a bad pickup if you’re looking for multiples of something specific (like Golf Courses)

Item: Duff Party Bus
Cost:
45 Donuts
Earns:
2.25% total Bonus on all cash and XP
Previous Post: Should I Buy
What Does It Do:
Decoration for Springfield
My Opinion On It Now:
Not a bad pickup for Donuts spent, although it’s available via the Yearbook Box for 30 dounts (only 1 though).  So get it there first.

Item: Duff Barney Blimp
Cost:
70 Donuts
Earns:
2.75% total Bonus on all cash and XP
Previous Post: Should I Buy
What Does It Do:
Decoration for Springfield
My Opinion On It Now:
Available via the Yearbook Mystery Box.  Don’t spend 70 donuts on it.

Item: Football Uprights
Cost:
50 Donuts
Earns:
Nothing
What Does It Do: Decoration for Springfield
My Opinion On It Now:
Available via the Yearbook Mystery Box, and doesn’t earn anything.  Not worth the donuts unless you really need it for a design.

Item: Tap Ball Stadium Parts
Cost:
Homertron- 20 Donuts, Single Bleachers- 5 Donuts, Lights- 5 Donuts, Double Bleachers- 10 Donuts, Triple Bleachers- 20 Donuts
What Does It Do: Decorations for Springfield
My Opinion On It Now:
None of these are available in the Yearbook Mystery Box, and they’re a pretty inexpensive way to create a stadium in your Springfield. Not a bad pickup if you’re looking for a creative way to create a stadium in town.

  1. I know it’s not mentioned in this article, but I’ve been farming Tennis Courts for 10 Trophies (Springfield Heights currency) for the last week.

    I’ve added 300% bonus!

  2. I must disagree on the tailgate. Always been one of my favorite decorations in town plus now that Homer is mostly free, I actually get a chance to use it.

  3. I bought the Laser Tag because it comes from my favorite episode of Simpson’s ever! We need SADGASM!!!!!!!

  4. I’ve had the Tailgate for a while, and I like it. It’s pulling double duty in a bigger parking lot leading to my music festival area and across the street from my sports area. It was a pain to upgrade, but I think that it’s a fun addition.

  5. Managed to pick up a Golf Course – going for another set as well, as I am making a 3-hole Country Club/Resort area for my posh-er area of town. Also picked up 2 of the 3-tier bleachers to finish off my Tapball arena, and probably going to grab a couple of stadium lights as well

    • Nice. I now have a full Nine holes… happy for the lull and the return. Went from a made up short course of almost all par threes, to nine holes with several par fours, some super tough threes, and some long par fives.

      • Yeah, that looks sweet! Your par fives are brutally long for a short hitter like me… I’ve got enough golf holes to make a full 18 if I ever want to put in the time and land – but these days, land is one thing we have plenty of! (For now….) Really nice course.

      • Hey Patric – just out of curiosity, what did you use to make Tee Boxes? I’m kind of stumped at what to use…

        • I used single flowers to edge the boxes…and decorative shrubs…and of course, a waste can for garbage.

          • I’m trying to use a combination of markers, but since I don’t have quite enough of either, the tee boxes are incomplete.
I use the white spotlight (can be rotated all 4 directions, so it always points toward the tee box), and the red Japanese Lantern (Small), with the lantern being closer to the tee. Not only does this make the tee boxes easier to find, but it’s correct as far as the tee colors go (white, red), although it skips blue and yellow. Now, all I need is for TSTO to bring these back so I can (a) get enough to finish my front 9, and (b) get more so I can eventually expand to a full 18!

            • Whoa…. you are going the extra mile. Mine are just “one tee fits all,” kinda boxes.

              • Originally, I used potted plants and flowers. I also tried gold plants, barrels, and even traffic cones! The gold plants seemed too gaudy, the barrels too much like Homer or Barney would come up with! The flowers are a must to show the sides of the tee box in any case. Now, if EA would just give me more of my spotlights and lanterns….

    • johnnyicemaker

Would have liked to grab 9 training bundles to get the golf greens for my 9-hole course but at 125 a piece that is just too rich for me. I guess I will have to stick with using skull flags as hole markers for now.

      • All good. Would be too rich for me too…but that represented six days of farming for me. Well worth it. Nothing else I care about in this “update.”

  6. Stadium fencing! Got 200 pieces for future designs…all with in game cash. I never seem to have enough fencing when I build something new, so I’ve learned to stock up when it’s offered.😁

  7. Dang it… apparently the Homertron is a unique item, since I don’t have that in my returning items. I stocked up on the other stadium items, though, and also made a tennis stadium (as someone else suggested). Nice!

  8. Dang it… apparently you can only have one Homertron, since I don’t have one in my store. I’ve stocked up on the other stadium parts, though!

  9. Got a few from the mystery box and already had a lot of it, got tailgate trying to get something else in the mystery box and what a pain to upgrade, wouldn’t recommend.

  10. Returning content

It appears that Alissa is correct in that a majority of these can be obtained through the Mystery Box (if you can get it for 30 sprinkles? there’s no logical reason to spend more).

Now the options seem slim, as most of these decorations are not worth it (unless you can get multiples to increase your Bonus XP % without spending too many sprinkles). I prefer Buildings that have permanent Character Tasks, and definitely shy away from Decor that takes up too much real estate.

I guess one has to keep waiting for new Premiums. I totally agree with my fellow Tappers that inquire why we haven’t had an Episode tie-in since October (some of the Simpsons episodes for this season of been quite good and I wouldn’t have mind a new Character / Building).

My question would be, will we get new Characters that are voiced? It’s been since October that a Character Act Prize, or purchased Premium obtained, has been voiced.

  11. Thanks a lot, Alissa! I’m tempted to spend some sprinkles on stadium items, but then again, my city is already cluttered as it is 😅
