The Sounds of TSTO: Initial Release, Levels 1-20

I’m sick of theorizing what may or may not be going on…let’s have some fun!

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

New feature alert!

Recently in the comments, someone requested that we post the Sound Effects in TSTO.  We’ve done this on occasion in the past, particularly when something was so funny we wanted players to be sure to hear it (even if they played without the sound on), but nothing on a large scale.  I thought it sounded like a great idea, but I wasn’t sure about the best way to go about doing this.

I did some searching and found all the audio files available, and I knew there was no way I could post the entire sound catalog in one sitting. There are over 4,000 files of sound effects in TSTO, that’s audio overload for 1 singular post.  So I thought about it for a little while, had a discussion with Patric about it, and came up with a couple of fun ideas.

The first idea is a “The Sounds of TSTO” Post, which is the one you’re currently reading.  This will be a look back at TSTO Events/Updates of the past through Audio.  Sometimes the full update will be covered in 1 post, other times we’ll have to break it into 2 or 3 posts (just depending on how many sounds that update carried).

The second idea is a “Name that TSTO Tune” Post.  You guys should be familiar with this post since it’s already gone live.

So now, with that wordy introduction, let’s take a stroll down memory lane with the Sounds of TSTO in early 2012 and see if any of these sounds spark a TSTO memory for you…

This initial post is going to be pretty long, as I wanted to get everything with that initial launch in here.

In early 2012 TSTO was launched to a bit of a thud.  The game was riddled with bugs and server issues.  To combat this EA pulled the game from the App Store.  But for those who were lucky enough to have downloaded it on the initial launch, you could still play.

The first release of TSTO included Levels 1-20, everyone from Homer to Quimby.  Here’s a listen to the sounds included with that first launch…

Note: This isn’t all the sounds for the characters.  Some sounds are duplicates, and others are groans/other noises.  In the interest of space, I didn’t include those here.

Stay tuned for more sounds of TSTO!

  1. So basically the four huge updates we get a year is Halloween Christmas summer and one other update

  2. thank you Alissa (I 💜 this)
it brought back memories of playing the original Simpson’s video games for home consoles / pc’s \ early smartphones (also released by Electronic Arts) – and yes some of you Tappers may notice EA used the same audio queues from certain Characters 🤣

The Simpsons Game (remember this doozy from 2007?)

The Simpsons: Hit & Run (how about this one from 2003?)

The Simpsons: Minutes to Meltdown (also by EA, from 2007 and if you think TSTO is bad? you probably wouldn’t have lasted a minute with this old school mobile game (lol!)

  3. I love this! Thank you, Alissa 😊

  4. This is great! Thanks for doing this. The Simpson’s really do have their own sounds!! I have Homer’s Woo-Hoo has my calendar alert. My husband laughs every time it goes off.

  5. I’m going to like this new feature, not only do I usually play with the sound off, but there’s certain tasks I never send charchters on, so some sounds I’ve never heard!

  6. Fun post. Thanks for compiling it all Alissa.

  7. Best. Feature. Ever.

  8. Thanks, but,
You’ve got waaaaaay to much time on your hands.

  9. Am I the only one who wants a link to download? I would switch all my computer sounds to these as well as my ringtones…

  10. I can’t wait for Ralph’s!!!

  11. Nice feature. I loved all the clips. I also discovered I got at least 3 answers wrong in name that tune. Maybe I should play with the sound on more often. Lol

  12. Robert Olson

So how does the game “decide” which sound to use on any particular tap, I wonder? It sure doesn’t seem random to me, as there are sounds I’ve heard MANY MANY times, along with others from the same character that I can barely remember hearing at all.

  13. Betty (UFgator89)

Great! There are a few I don’t even remember hearing, like Homer saying “Groovy”. Thanks.

  14. This is great! Will you be able to get the music from events?

  15. Thank you for the positive post. I actually have been having a good time buying “yearbook” treasures and redecorating. Still love the game, still have hope for a future of TSTO.
