Musings About No Update Wednesday

Happy Musings Thursday my friends! This week I’m talking lack of an update yesterday.  I’ve got a bunch of scattered thoughts, so let’s get to ’em…

As I mentioned at the top, I’ve got random thoughts…so this may be a bit scattered.

-First of all, let’s just get this out of the way…since I know it’s what y’all are thinking…what the hell EA?! Where’s the freaking update?!  It’s October…bring on Halloween you punks!
There.  Feel better guys?  Probably not enough cursing for some of you…

-So one thing I’ve said over and over…and over…again over the years: with EA expect the unexpected.  Even when you think you’ve got things figured out they do something weird to change it up. Whether it’s changing a format, release dates, or just content itself.  EA can be very unpredictable.  And that unpredictability doesn’t always make things better…often times it makes things worse.  BUT they’re still unpredictable.
As I told a few of you over the last few days, I wouldn’t be surprised if it hit this week…I wouldn’t be surprised if it hit next week.  Heck, I wouldn’t be surprised if it hit on Halloween at this rate.  EA does weird things.

-So I’ve not struck out twice on predicting the Halloween start date…so why not give it a 3rd try? You guys know how much I love baseball..nothing like getting 3 strikes, right?
Will we get Halloween next Wednesday? 🤷‍♀️ But I’m going to use my last strike to tell you likely next Wednesday.  I said this on Addicts live…at least it was in my show notes, I can’t remember if I actually said it…the THOH episode airs on October 20th this year (next Sunday).  I wondered if EA might hold back the update a week so that it fits in better with the episode, and they don’t spoil much.  So by holding it back the week it may be a sign that the update does tie-in with THOH XXX, episode 666.
Launching the event next week, at 4 weeks…gives us an end-date of November 13th.  A normal THOH end-date.  (Halloween last year ended on Nov. 14th and the year before it also ended on November 14th) So pushing it back a week with a Nov. 13th end-date makes total sense. (that also allows for a 1-week break when it ends, and then launch a 2 week Thanksgiving Mini-event Nov. 20th..that will actually run over Thanksgiving…some of you have mentioned this thought as well)

-I do think this delay bodes well for us getting some THOH XXX episode content in this update. Starting the event next Wednesday would be 4 days before the THOH episode airs..good time to tie it all together.

And I’ll add this in here once again this week…EA if you’re reading this, and let’s face it we know that you are…it would go A LONG way with players if you actually sent the event info teaser packet out BEFORE the THOH actually starts.  Build some hype for it.  Which was, you know, the whole reason you started sending out the info packets in the first place…
