Gil’s Latest Gimmick: Details and Should You Buy God

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Ol’ Gil is back in Springfield.  He returned to Springfield yesterday with the arrival of the THOH XXX event.  Also always, Gil has another ‘deal” for us.  What’s the latest gimmick he’s peddling? Well, this time around he’s offering up God.  He’s trying his hardest to make us a deal we can’t refuse…or face eternal damnation…

So let’s break down the details of this latest offer and determine if this deal is worth the donuts or if you want to risk angering God…

So when you first get into Springfield (well after you’ve launched the event stuff…of course) you’ll see Gil waving his arms around…just begging you to tap on him…

If you tap on him you’ll see…

Gil: Gil’s no doin’ so well on Earth but I’m gunnin’ for a better life up in Heaven. C’mon, help Ol’ Gil earn his ticket through the Pearly Gates.  Whaddya say?
God: Don’t lay it on too thick, Son.
Gil: No problem, great and powerful God. And may I add quite handsome too. “wink-wink”

At which point you’ll see his latest gimmick…

If you refuse…

Gil: This is awkward.  You’re leaving me standing at the alter just like my first three marriage attempts.  I shoulda bought the tuxedo rather than rent it everytime!

If you accept…

Gil: Praise be!  I knew I could count on you in my time of need.  Stay tuned for more of my needs. I promise that I’ll be in church every day and night.  Mostly ’cause that’s where I’ve been sleepin’.

Now real quick…if you refuse the offer will go back in the store.  It will be there…

This Deal Ends October 30th

And now for the part, you’ve all been waiting for…the Should I Buy…

This Deal Ends October 30th

Pros
-Comes with a questline
-God is voiced.  Yes, he is voiced with several sayings…
-Earns event currency…I assume for all 4 acts (but I can’t confirm that until Act 2 starts).
-7% Bonus on this is a nice bonus for item, especially one that small
-4 visual animated tasks
-24hr task earns $777,777, and yes bonus % applies to this. (pays out normal 225xp)
-Ned has a permanent 4hr task at the 10 Commandments…Memorize Commandments

Cons
Insanely overpriced.

Final Thought:
Guys, it’s God.  I’m not going to be the one to tell you not to buy God….
777 donuts is a TON of donuts to spend. So check out the Pros and Cons and make a decision that works best for you.

Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as a premium player, I already took the deal.  But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Remember, there’s a good chance this may come back in a future Mystery Box (although for 777 donuts, I’d be hard-pressed to think it’ll come back in a MB soon.  But EA’s been known to do really screwy things.).  It’s happened a few times now.  If you buy it there’s a good chance it’ll come back at a much lower price and you’ll be mad about it, if you don’t buy it and want it there’s always a chance it may not come back.  So the gamble is up to you to take…

Here’s a look at the tasks…

God’s Permanent Tasks:

Appear In A Burning Bush 12hrs $600, 150xp Outside/Visual

  1. EA, PLEEEEEASE offer God again! I didn’t have 777 donuts last time! I was hoping you would offer him at Xmas or Easter!

  2. Necromantic Nightmare

I know l should have decidbother…Since basically the $ should net a level w bonus, but won’t without it.. Even as an occasional farmer (I’d farm more but because of glitching I can only do 2 bloodmobiles at a time or the donuts seem to vanish and hunting down the things gets old fast) but I digress… I read a comment that the bonus didn’t add to the 777777 is that the case? If so I definitely won’t bother…S… Hopefully this came out readable… My phone won’t let me see what I’m typing as I type :/

putting comments is hard, what is this word press login thing about?

  3. I’m not getting my bonus on the 24hr god task, anyone else getting this issue. I have a 1000% bonus and only received $777,777.

    • Well…there is the whole bit about expecting too much from God, and asking for more than you deserve… but, hey…a promise is a promise. Ask Jonah. Or Abraham. Or Moses.

  4. Can someone explain to me how the wailing walls help earn donuts? And how does the blood mobile farming work? I’m a freemium player and currently have 817 donuts… I really want god but I want to have some donuts for the holiday event and fear it’ll take me too long to earn them back! I’m at level 305 and have $35 billion in cash… thoughts?

    • You need to do a search for two things. Blood mobile farming and donut farming.

There are extensive articles on both.

You may be a bit late to earn a ton in a week. But you need to start sometime.

  5. Had to have God – got the other deities available. Come on Ganesha!

  6. Player 00_namcy_00

I don’t know about anyone else but it looks as if I got my 777 donuts back . I had 779, spent the 777, and the next day all sudden back up to 772… go figure . Was willing to spend in order to garner cash for bloodmobile to regen donuts anyway. Anyone else ?

  7. If God paid out say a donut a day I’d buy him. The cash does nothing for me as I already have like 30 million. Hopefully God comes back on the cheap soon!

    • With all the cash you get from him, you can buy bloodmobiles and sell them back. If you have your multiplier on and a high bonus, then you get a ton of XP. I basically get 9million $ from Gods 24 hour job. That allows me to buy and sell enough BMs to yield roughly 145 donuts. So, he actually pays out WAY more than 1 donut per day – you just have to do 2 minutes of work to get it.

  8. A little bummed I’m not going to make this one. Still in the middling stages of KEM farming (440% bonus), and missed the wailing walls. Just not going to make the donuts needed. Would have been great for the extra cash flow – as that still feels like a problem for me.

  9. I bought this deal. However, I already regret it for a couple of reasons:

1.) I don’t need to generate any more in-game currency (aside from donuts or bonuts); and,
2.) The religious characters have always felt “wrong” to me in The Simpsons.

While I understand the satire behind it, I’ve always felt that it is wrong to mock whatever people might hold as sacred or holy. It doesn’t have to be a religious deity or religion itself either. It is akin to mocking other things that are imminently important to individuals, groups or entire cultures (such as race/ethnicity, family members, important figures or events, etc.).

Still, I bought the deal anyway. Given the price, I think that it would have been better to offer bonuts. That way, this would have seemed like a worthwhile investment.

  10. Bought God. There’s an expression I never thought I’d say. Anyway, he’s really going to help me max out my money (currently on $1.2bn).

  11. 4% not 7%

  12. Gil can bite me. I don’t have 777 donuts, do not donut farm, am not willing to buy the 360 donuts I’d need to hit 777 to take this “deal.” Here is my question: If I avoid tapping on Gil the whole time the deal is in effect, does he just go away on October 30? I don’t even feel like seeing his pitch. (Been avoiding him since he showed up on 10/23.)

  13. This is a tough one. What a boon for farmers who already had large cache of donuts, big bonus % and fabulous $ generator to farm for more. At first it was a definite no as I felt burned on spending $300 donuts on the lackluster Sarah Wiggum only to have her return just months later in a mystery box. It’s possible if God does come back at a lower price, it will have a lower bonus % and much lower cash 24hr task payout.
I haven’t farmed before but I have about half the donuts now. I’m still in the 300’s on my levels, have a decent bonus% and a huge amount of in game cash. I could pull everything out of inventory to boost XP, turn the collider on and give this RTT thing a whirl. My game crashing hasn’t been as bad as others reporting. Sounds like if you just do 6 at a time you should be ok. Once you have God you can restore cash reserves fast [prosperity gospel much?]. This will leave me having to keep farming for any other premium THOH content, Black Friday and Christmas. Hmmm.
I sadly missed out on the Wailing Wall bonanza as the event started as I was leaving for work and the patch was in by the time I was off. C’est La Vie.

    • Farming will definitely help you!

    • Once I pulled out all decorations from inventory with a bonus % I was a little over 1000%. I have now bloodmobiled my way to God and am officially a farmium Tapper now. Now to find homes for these piles of decorations. Oh, and I hit my first too many items warning. And completed my Himalayas.

  14. I regret nothing!

  15. Despite His ridiculously high cost of 777 donuts, I got God immediately (also got the Monkey’s Paw Seller too). Since I’m a donut farmer with a really high XP Bonus (which got even higher thanks to those Wailing Walls when they were still $1000 instead of 50 donuts), I can farm to earn back those donuts. If I was still where I was only two years ago (freemium with a low Bonus XP) or if I was a newer player, it would be a hard pass. Plus, God’s 24 hr task should be very helpful in the long run.

    • Same here – I have thousands of donuts saved from KEM farming and now I want my in-game cash to top the billion-$ mark.

God will dramatically increase the rate at which I can hit that level. The 1,000 extra Wailing Walls also help. Besides being XP boosters, they are massive cash generators on their own – allowing me to pack away the larger-footprint house-farms so more areas open up for designing.

      • But they are sooooo ugly. Soon…our towns will be nothing but giant wastelands of wailing walls and tennis courts…with Huge multipliers. Not my style at all.

        • Agreed, however you being the king of hiding items like walls, it should be rather easy to do that with the wailing walls as well. The tennis courts are not as easy to hide but once someone reaches a certain level of multiplier, I would believe/hope that you/others could actually store some of those bonus items.

          • Again… The real problem for me, is that I have to store things just to buy the walls. I am exactly at the very tippy top of the 13,000 unit item limit. Every time I play something I have to get rid of something. So no… Buying 1000 and walls was not in the cards for me.

  16. I got him right away, but I have over 5000 in donuts. 4 hrs of farming gets me 108 donuts so even farming once a day I’ll get my donuts back in 8 days. If I was a freemium player, no way!!!

  17. Having 4 billion in game currency I slowly and cautiously farmed to get God. I used to happily give Ea some money from time to time to support the game but with them getting lazier with events and not even fixing the servers I refuse to give them a penny more. It also annoyed me slightly that they couldn’t even be bothered to put on the Halloween theme in our towns with the fog and dark water etc. Like they have in previous years.

  18. Since I got a few thousand Wailing Walls for $1000 each (total bonus = 3033.25%), I’m buying God. Also, I’m an atheist, so I enjoy the poetry.
For reference, his 24 hour job (get it? Job?) will currently generate me 24,369,698 game dollars. In 24 hours. Too much to use on KEM farming, so probably on Bloodmobiles to burn it off quicker.

  19. I am a relatively new player, I just hit level 60 and I’m still playing catch-up on quite a lot of quests. I still have a lot of things to buy with regular money, including a bunch of land tiles as I’m already pretty overcrowded. If you were in my position (i.e., could still make good use of regular money) would you drop $50 for this? Or is it still too expensive?

    • It depends how much expendable cash you have and how much you like the game.

    • I want to tell you no, but I’m at 385 without farming and at this point unless I start needing cash to KEM or Bloodmobile farm I have almost absolutely no use for cash. I just blew a lot of donuts on the yearbook so there’s no way I’m shelling out real money for God. That said, I’ve been playing for several years and I’m sure I’ve spent at least $50 on this game already, just not all at once.

    • Heck no! It’ll come back at some point, greatly discounted. Try and get into KEM farming to boost your doughnuts, although I imagine at L60 your bonus is quite low. I would explain how to do it, but there’s a full write up on this site already.

  20. I am a fairly new player, I just hit level 60 and I still have quite a lot of quests to catch up on. I already am cramming things into the margins of my town because I can’t buy land fast enough. If you were in my position, would you consider this to be worth dropping $50 on or is it still too overpriced even if I still have quite a lot of things in the game to buy?

    • Save the money and enjoy what you can afford. At that stage I also bought a few missing D to get one premium character per event. Just to help with the crafting that used to be the standard. The only pro is the 24h task that will get you some landtiles quickly (in case you have not bought them all yet and have not yet runned into the land-tokens yet)

  21. Well I bought it and it charged me for the donuts but didn’t show up. Very disappointed. Probably deleting game after this.

  22. I bought God. He’s way over priced but the fact that I have God in my Springfield now is worth it! I think the Wailing Wall deal originally for $1,000 when THOH 2019 first came out was meant to help us purchase him.

  23. CoM obedience is fair enough, but they could possibly have gone with righteousness too !?! 😄

  24. I’m all done with the Yearbook, and with the bonus % from all that, just a week of farming was more than enough to blow 777 donuts on one character. I was honestly pretty surprised at how easy it was.

It’s a ridiculously steep price, but I think that’s the point? I think it’s fair that in order to buy God, you should pretty much have to be at the point in the game where you are one yourself. I think if they put God anywhere permanently, it should be as the last green task (hopefully after a bunch of new ones!).

  25. Well, I sure as heck ain’t buying anymore donuts. EA has not given me the 600 donuts I bought for $19.99 twice.

  26. Well, I sure as heck ain’t buying anymore donuts. EA has not given me the 600 donuts I bought for $19.99 twice. Jerks.
