It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

Simpsons are back tonight with a new episode! What do you think will happen?
It may be November 10th, but it’s still Halloween in Springfield. Will the madness ever end?! The answer of course is yes, as week 4…the final week…rolls out this week. Then we can finally throw the pumpkins in the compost pile…along with the fruitcake, we threw back there 6 years ago. I wonder which will decompose first… Thoughts as we prepare to hit week 4?

God is great. The higher price is maybe not completely justified but the 777,777 cash every 24 hours is sweet and does justify a somewhat higher price. The dude abideth.
Do you think there will be a black Friday event this year, with the yearbook and various mystery boxes lately I would think so?
probably something. May not be as great as it was in the past, but probably something.
Maybe it’s just me jumping to conclusions, but is anyone else a little worried that Gil’s pre-rapture offering might foretell that the end (of TSTO) may be nigh?

Donuts that i have earned from kem farming or rat trap trucks, disappear when i log back in. Everything else like the bonus percentage, new items bought, donuts that i earned from character actions remain the same. Is donut farming bad?
I have the same issue and EA has not been able to correct it. I lose all donuts collected from buildings.. including farming.. and from character tasks. I am able to keep donuts awarded from Daily Challenges, Finding Maggie, and Monorail.
I am going to wait til the end of this event to go back to EA to get this corrected.
The issue happens when there is a daily task to send all springfielders to Krusty Burger to do something,, can’t remember what it is.. and when you release them from the task they go right back in and start over again on their own. The only way to get this glitch to stop is to put the Original Krusty Burger building in storage and then put it back.
Then you start losing donuts..
What I want: EA to do list
1: do away with all the floating XP and cash, slows the game down and takes forever, must be an easier way to count?
2: make the building the same as the music stages or zombie sandwich so we can allocated the right characters to a building task instead of hunting for them (stonecutter lodge first)
3: group event task so we can see all the characters in action, Halloween costumes, Christmas event tasks ect.
4: premium costume button task,
5: collect all button, sky finger need a slight modification to collect all.

Have we seen the last of “What a Wookiee wants”? I assume so since last post I remember was around December 2016.

Six? Nine? Months ago I pulled my excavation site out of storage as I re-read that I had a 1% chance of gettin the Barbarian statue and a 1% Bonus. Hundreds, HUNDREDS of prizes and not once did I receive a Barbarian Statue.
So, I re-re-read previous posts here in Addicts and there it was……
Barbarian Statue is a unique item.

I’m not playing the way I used to. I still enjoy the simpson tapped out game but I have way too many other things going on to spend a half plus every 4 hours the way the game is urging me to play. Currently, I try to play twice a day and a third if I’m running way behind. Because I donut farm, I have no problem dropping a dozen donuts here and there to keep on on the random events. Right now, I’m trying to save up and put aside 500 donuts for black friday but with God costing me 777, I may be low balling it. Smh
Not accustomed to being even close to caught up/ahead of the tsto addicts ‘running commentary’ of events, so please forgive my inexperienced post regarding that: Do we usually need to wait for info here about such things as, e.g. Music & Mishaps Pt. 4? I saw that ‘up next’ reference – something about Martin, but could the ‘catchup’ possibly be due to getting 12 donuts for already having some item(s)?
Anyone having this error? Everyone in my household hasn’t been able to login since three days ago.

Happened to me but was a mistake by myself putting in my password or email in wrong, spellcheck or reset password

Just signed into FXNOW and saw that all episodes of The Simpsons are marked to leave in 4 days. Does anyone have any verified info as to where we will be able to stream “every episode ever” if they’re being taken off their former home? Yes I know, Disney, but, specifically?
Even signing into FXNOW brought me through a new layer of Disney security I’d never encountered before.

I’m considering subscribing to Disney+ just for The Simpsons. Here in Canada, this will be the first time ever The Simpsons will be available for streaming!
I have no interest in Disney+’s original series, so it’s all about the back catalogue for me.

So it now costs me $6.99/mo or $69.99/yr just to stream The Simpsons, which I used to be able to do for free? (Provided I have an active television subscription)
I just checked out Disneyplus and the only thing there I have any interest in watching is The Simpsons.
Because of budget restraints I can’t afford another streaming service, especially one that only has one program I’m interested in, I’m really going to miss streaming the Simpsons.
With my fixed income and the ever increasing prices of TV providers, it won’t belong before I’m forced to cancel my TV subscription too. My “triple play” bundle went from $99/mo (before add on fees) to over $230/mo (after fees) since the ‘special’ pricing ended. Makes no sense for me to keep paying that much for (maybe 8) channels I actually watch, a VOIP phone line I’ve Never used, and (the only thing I really use) an Internet connection.
When Verizon stopped servicing copper landlines, I refused their FIOS phone and switched my wireless provider to Google Fi and went from paying $160+/mo to $30/mo.
I’d rather eat 2 meals a day than waste money on giant service providers that make it simple to pay a bill, but impossible to speak to a customer service representative who’s not reading from a script.

Is it just me or do others with EA would add a premium/bonus item tab in the inventory. That way everything that addsntonyour bonus % is all in one place and doesn’t get lost in your decorations tab.

I finished the yearbook…and now I don’t know what to do! I guess I have to wait for events now for new premium content and mystery boxes.
I’m also running out of room. I should have bought GGR back in the day. *sigh*
I’ll buy the new premium character on Wednesday and then probably use my donuts to rush through Act 4. Then…that’s it till whenever.

The Halloween event has left me kinda disappointed. I am seeing now why people complained about no crafting in these events. If you are at a higher level already, every week you get the event done in just a few days. And with old items being included, the stupid 12 donuts feels like a cop out. If the christmas event will be more of the same, I can’t escape the feeling they have given up on the game. Because a ton of people still play it, they have to keep doing events, but they seem to put in as little effort as they can.
I really hope I am wrong, but that feeling is creeping up on me with the lackluster events we have had.
I never complained about crafting or neighbour actions or tappable NPCs, so I’ve been very disappointed with the event format since last Xmas. I really don’t see it changing in 2020. EA has managed to break my addiction.
They haven’t broken me yet, but they are getting close. And this is the only mobile game i have really played for years

The one thing these types of events has an advantage over the previous types of events is that you can get all the prizes in the entire event instead of only getting them in each act and then spending the donuts to get them afterwards. Another one is that you could still get the current prize after the event ended.
Christmas and Valentine’s this year were pretty decent even though there was no extras like crafting or neighbour visits because there was dozens of land tokens in the prizes and all there was about 20 new prizes but in the second half of the year there are no land tokens (replaced with donuts it seems) and only 12 new prizes in this event.
The problem is that EA have made it so that there is the same line of events types which is that there is a multi event after a mini event and vise versa without having any other update types like episode tie ins, one week sales etc. Thanksgiving and Black Friday will probably be a mini event like it was in the last few years but there could be something new for Christmas or next year.
What I don’t like about this Halloween event isn’t the content but how it was structured because of the dozen donut filler prizes which a land token would’ve worked better or a new item, the currency totals on the prize tracks are low at 50 at the start and 100 for the rest in the whole event (maybe if it doubled each time so that it goes 50,100,200,400,800 to make it last longer) and no Halloween music, darker screen and item limit increases.
I think they could have done better by combining the best of both. A little lower degree of difficulty on the crafting so everyone can get there, or not changing the currency for each act so you can choose out of more items to craft.
They have gone from too difficult for newer players to too easy for long time players, completely skipping the middle ground. But that’s what happens of the interest and effort fades on the development end,

I agree that there should be some middle ground since the 6 week major ones usually had tappables, friend actions, crafting or a secondary prize track while 2 week minis only had the send characters to earn currency for 3 hour. The 4 week events should have about half of what the 6 week majors had plus I’d like the community prizes to return. At least some of the content was good this year.
I doubt Christmas would be skipped over but it’ll likely be 4 weeks and a new years update afterwards maybe with some music and an item limit increase.
By the way, did you notice, the jobs for the currency are 4 hours (fine with that, 3 hours was a bit stupid with the 1-4-8-12-24 setup), but the jobs below that are ALL 8 hours. And either my memory is terrible, or we had more 4 hour jobs in other events.
Yeah, I noticed that. I think it was like that in the last event (Cthulhu’s Revenge) with the 8 hour jobs. I remember that there was lots of 4 hour tasks for nearly everything in some events. This event has the same 8/9 characters being used for the currency in all acts plus the new premium character which makes it feel like less jobs, at least to me. At least Dracula, Kang, Kodos and Zia can be used for the jobs in the event.
