It’s finally Christmas in Springfield! Our pocket-sized Springfields have been covered with a fresh blanket of snow! What’s in store for us this time? Well, we’re tasked with seeing if Grampa can bore Death…well to death! Loads of dialogue with this one, so be sure to read along to see what happens! And of course, I’ll be posting it as each week wraps up.
Abe’s in Toyland follows the same event structure of the Multi-Events before it. This event consists of 4 parts (or Acts), with each part lasting a week and taking us through a new part of the event!
For Week 1, Act 1, we’re following the first story Grampa tells Death, a tale from his childhood! All of the prizes unlocked during week 1 play a role in that storyline.
So let’s take a look at prize 5 Orville…

Orville: No, I’ve engineered a new move. It’s a strangle, a scorn gaze, followed by a stern talk.
Lisa: That’s terrible! Great-Grampa, no one believes in those methods.
Orville: Oh really? This fellow does.
Cletus: I gots fifty-eight young’uns. Spare the rod and spoil the child-uncle.

Wiggum: Sir, corporal punishment of children is not allowed in this city. Just let them grow up, and let us start tasing them.

He’s not one of the best characters in the game mainly because all his indoor tasks are at commonly used low level locations (his 60m task could’ve been at various Bars or Restaurants instead of just the Krusty Burger) and depending on where people stand on corporal punishment. His visuals are ok but a bit similar to other characters visuals since the 4 hour task is a bit like Maggie and Kearney’s Other Son’s task with the dummies, his 12 hour task is a bit like Baby Marge and Jim Hope’s tasks with the flip charts. One thing I do like about him is that he is Abe’s father. 🧴
♥️ having Orville Simpson (and Old Tut Simpson) in my Springfield ….. it definitely made me pull the book “The Simpsons Uncensored Family Album” off the bookshelf to reference Characters ! 😊

Will that Krusty in the Abe’s in Toyland character set be a premium character? Should I start saving my Donuts to unlock him?

Is the story line messing with friends actions? My friends appear to have nothing to tap on which is extremely unusual. Maybe I am being shunned?
The same thing is happening to me. Most days I get a few visits, but lately none visitors. I asked my daughter to check if she could visit me in her game, but it was nothing to tap. I can tap in her small town, but she can’t tap anything in my big town. It seems to be my most active friends that are affected. Not a big thing, but strange.

I’ve inquired with @EAHelp , so far they don’t admit to any glitches involving Neighboreenos (or can offer any new problems with Origin Accounts)….. their suggestions (and I’m going by them) are “not every Building regenerates to Tap on as quickly as others, so please feel free to try visiting Neighboreenos randomly” (my opinion is during an Event Tappers tap their Springfield’s more often, for example? I just cleared my Springfield and won’t do it again for another 8 hours, but others may be doing so every 4 – 6 hours, so try again before midnight Pacific Standard Time and see what you find) …..

Thought this was just happening to me!! Was coming on to ask!! Least I’m not the only one!!! Just can’t visit the friends who seem to play super regularly! 😭😭
A dear neighbor of mine found that you can still tap on the buildings that you can normally spray paint/vandalize…even though the little paint can isnt floating above them. I did it today and it worked! Just not the houses…at least not for me.
I too can not tap in my friends towns…using iPad
Either my friends have left town and are not playing, they abandoned me, or there Is a glitch in this story line! I am not able to do any tapping when I visit my friends!
This started for me days ago. Now I only have 3 friends to tap.
I’ve been trying to continue to play with the results of the “glitch” for months with no help to fix it and now EA has successfully killed the community friends interaction which is one of the best parts of the game for those of us that visit our friends everyday.
Another nail in the coffin of this game.
Bah humbug. ☹️
