Christmas 2019 (Abe’s In Toyland) Week 2 Is Live!

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s officially 10am here on the East Coast, and that means Week 2 of Abe’s in Toyland is live in Springfield!

Things kick off for week 2 with some dialogue between Grampa and Death…

Grampa: And so, I spent that whole Christmas Eve with Santa and his elf. Sliding down chimneys and eating people’s pies…
Death: What about delivering presents?
Grampa: Yeah, I don’t remember much of that.
Death: Doesn’t seem like you actually saved Christmas.
Grampa: Oh, that! That’s *another* story.

This triggers the week 2 questline, A Foggy London Christmas , and is followed by 4hr tasks for Grampa and Death, as well as a task to collect Week 2 Currency (50).  A Foggy London Christmas is the questline that will take you through unlocking all of the Week 2 prizes.

Let’s take a look at what else is in store during week 2…

Here’s EA’s synopsis for Act 2/Week 2:

After Abe finishes his story, Death questions how that story was about Abe saving Christmas. Abe claims him saving Christmas is a different story and starts to tell it. Abe goes on to tell how he met Edwina on Carnaby street while he was a pathfinder during World War II. While on a Christmas Eve date, they see a sleigh crash out of the sky. It’s Santa Claus…who speaks with a German accent? That detail doesn’t seem to register with Abe. This “Santa” asks Abe to deliver a present to Churchill (which is a bomb). In return, Santa will give Abe a bottle of Christmas magic that smells like German peppermint schnapps. Abe and Edwina get drunk on the peppermint schnapps and never deliver the present. Death asks how this is a story about Abe saving Christmas and Abe informs him it’s not, it’s the story of how Homer’s half-sister Abbey was conceived.

As I stated above, you’ll basically go right into the Foggy London Christmas questline, which is what the week 2 story will follow. This questline is how you’ll unlock the Week 2 (Act 2) prizes.

The currency we’re working on collecting for Week 2/Act 2….

  1. Hey everyone
Is there a way of getting ice road tiles now or maybe later on in the event.if not EA missed an other opertunity to make this event look a little more like christmas.happy holidays to you Alissa and everyone at Simpsons taped out addicts.also happy holidays to all playes out there.
    alaicbeau

  2. Week 2 has better Event Prizes …. but I’m being biased because Week 2 happens to be based upon one of my favourite Episodes (The Regina Monologues) which had some classic ‘Guest Stars’ and Buildings (ok, we so don’t get Judy Dench Fish and Chips – but we get the Theatre minus Sir Ian McKellen (lol) 😊🇬🇧

Yes, I spent sprinkles on Abbey with Old Theatre District (she’s voiced, Homer ♥️’s his half-sister and so will you). These aren’t Xmas themed Prizes, but we get Carnaby St ( I’ve got fond memories of shopping there during the punk / post punk era), so minus any glitches? I say have fun in the Springfield snow! 😉🎄❄️☃️🇬🇧

    • As much as the prize track does not have any real relation to Christmas, I look on the bright side and see this as a nice additon for my UK corner.

  3. Might rush to get the bus, lol🎅🤶🎄🎄

  4. I feel that all the characters income from the events lately always adding up to 48 is EA sticking 2 finger up at us. Or is it to try and string out a crap even?

    • Exactly

    • It’s going to require a strategy based upon what Characters you have, if you pick up the Premium Character Building Combo this week (and if you choose to spend 🍩’s to get thru to the next Event Prize, or not) and how many times you check in a Day to Tap (I average 3 times).

I believe it’s allowing most to complete each Week on time, followed if the Tokens benefit you (or not). I definitely find myself plopping down things until I can edit my Springfield (you know Item Limits, etc) I do hope you have fun and a Happy Holidays. 😊🎄❄️☃️

    • Rigger, you are correct in your math that each round, if you have all the characters available equals 48 Souvenirs, etc. But don’t forget the other tasks that come with each round of the quest line. You usually have to use one or more of those same characters to satisfy the other tasks needed to complete each round. So there is no getting around that you will need to send characters twice for the 50 souvenir round and three times for the 100 souvenir rounds. If you break it down even further, you will only need to send a majority of your characters 2 times a day for 7 days to complete the quest line, so it’s doable even for the most casual tapper. Not sure their intent is to string us out with that easy pace, aggressive tappers can be done with the quest line in under 4 days. The irony is that the premium character purchase doesn’t really change the pace of play at all is not really a time saving advantage.

    • You can look at it that way or you can appreciate the free time for characters to populate snowglobes, nativity scenes and pageant stages, drive sleighs and snow mobiles, ride ski lifts, and top trees.

    • Thanks for all the responses and thankyou all for being pragmatic. Sorry I mssed the bit about not complaining.

  5. Will Ole’ Gill be making an appearance over Xmas ?

      • Before we started this event you had asked that we not complain until we gave it a try (or something to that effect).

Is the complaint department open yet?

        • Complaint department opens Saturday (halfway through Act 2), with a complaint laced Addicts Live. Followed by special operating hours on Monday (and if you watch/listen to Addicts Live on Saturday (which is only 30m this week…that’s how little there was to discuss) you’ll see how and why)

          • Ok, then I won’t complain yet. But if I were to do so we would talk about the lack of returning content (i.e. lights, elf house) lack of lights for additional buildings and the lack of a Gil deal (perhaps EA thinks that after that 777 deal that we need a chance to replenish our supply of donuts) and we talk about a few other things too!

Buy since the complaint department isn’t open, we won’t discuss that just yet.

            😉

            Thanx.
