Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
It’s finally Christmas in Springfield! Our pocket-sized Springfields have been covered with a fresh blanket of snow! What’s in store for us this time? Well, we’re tasked with trying to determine if Grampa Simpson ever saves Christmas, while he bores Death…well to death! Loads of dialogue with this one, so be sure to read along to see what happens! And of course, I’ll be posting it as each week wraps up.
Abe’s in Toyland follows the same event structure of the Multi-Events before it. This event consists of 4 parts (or Acts), with each part lasting a week and taking us through a new part of the event!
For Week 2, Act 2, we’re following the second, Grampa Saves Christmas, story…a tale from the streets of London! All of the prizes unlocked during week 2 play a role in that storyline.
So let’s take a look at prizes 2 and three on the Abe’s in Toyland Act 2 Prize track…Carnaby Street and the Double Decker Bus…

First up, prize 2, Carnaby Street…
which is in fact festive for Christmas. I believe these decorations will leave with the snow (and return with it next year), and it’ll be replaced by this look:

What Does it Do?: Animated when in use, lights in buildings (and Christmas lights) turn on. Smoke from chimneys.

I got the bus yesterday morning and Carnaby Street on Thursday. I like the fact that Carnaby Street has more than one task here and its not for all adults or youngsters, it is a nice size without being a few squares too short or long on either side, has a pretty animation, has 2 different looks to it throughout the year like Victor’s Secret and Things Unnecessary (maybe it could’ve been a skin) and it works as an entrance to a London/England area. 🎄❄️🔔
The Double-Decker Bus is cool and I’m not surprised by how big it is in the game since double decker’s usually are very tall and they don’t have that many cameras on them (at least on the outside). I agree with Keith Rooney, I wish we could get more though I could see it returning for donuts with a bonus of about 2.50% in the future. 🚌
I was concerned when I first saw Carnaby Street because my International District is full but fortunately a relic from an early design remained- the impound lot which I think is part of Shelbyville anyway. The dimensions are the same and it even already has a bus stop. Easy swap but it does make for a rather abrupt transition from England to South America. Now to send a high roller fancy shopping to check out the animation.

Carnaby Street isn’t exactly what I was hoping for in a Christmas event, but it does go well over in Efcot World (in the Heights). Not sure about the bus… if it’s as large as it looks, it may end up somewhere else…or into the storage abyss.🤷♀️🚌🚌🚌🎇

Carnaby Street – if EA keeps the Building design with the open centre I will be happy (best design ideas that allow a road thru it). 👍🏻
Double Decker Bus – as Patric said “nothing is to scale in this Game App” , it’s larger then expected (larger then some of the Buildings in 🇬🇧 Town), fun to Tap.
I’ll have the last Token and Edwina by tonight, so thank you EA for better Event Prizes this Week. 😊
So far this whole Event is a solid MEH! Nothing interesting here, bought everything, or own what was previous. So, MEH!
Yeah the Event Format / lack of Holiday themes is a “meh” – it’s hard for me to believe that EA hasn’t increased Item Limits (all that Land but we can only place so much on it) – when you got everything (or most of it) there isn’t much left to obtain …. except redo parts of ones Springfield (well, this I still enjoy doing).
