Should I Spend Donuts the Evil Candy Cave and Krusty the Christian?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Gather ’round the tapping device everyone, It’s Christmas in Springfield!  And there’s nothing like the holidays and a little snow to bring crazy to our pocket-sized towns!  What’s in store for us this time?  Well, we’re tasked with seeing if Grampa can bore Death…well to death!  Of course, an all-new event means all-new premium content in our stores, just tempting us to drop those pink sprinkles!

As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Evil Candy Cave and Krusty the Christian to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this Christmassy Combo to your town…

Building/Decoration: Evil Candy Cave
Character: Krusty the Christian
Donut Cost: 150 Donuts
Size:
6×6
Earns:
4% on all cash and XP
Conform-O-Meter:
Tree-Hugging +200
Can Be Placed:
grass|pavement|boardwalk|pier|dirt
WDTCF?: Krusty Costume: The Nightmare After Krustmas” S28, E10.  Candy Cave: You guys tell me.  I’m having trouble placing it…

Leaves stores January 1st, 2019

Pros
-Helps with the event, earns a special premium rate
-Comes with a questline
-Earns a decent (but not great for donuts spent) bonus %
-Voiced

Cons
-Only helps with Act 3
-No tasks at the Evil Candy Cave
-A costume, not a new character.  Extremely overpriced.

Final Thought
Pass. No one needs to spend 100 donuts for a costume for Krusty and a Candy Cave with no tasks.  Pass.

Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and I’ll likely be passing.  Act 3 is easy enough to finish without spending 150 donuts on a costume.  But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Here’s a look at the tasks…

Krusty the Christian’s Permanent Tasks:

Task Length Earns Location
Attend Service 1hr $105, 26xp First Church of Springfield
Have Communion 4hrs $260, 70xp Outside/Visual

Sober Contemplation House 12hrs $600, 150xp Outside/Visual
Loosely Follow the Code 24hrs $1,000, 225xp Krusty Burger

I’ll have the full dialogue of the questline up later on, but for now, here’s the Turbo Tappin’ version of the questline…

  1. No tasks? Indeed a pass then. Thanks for the info!

  2. I bought it straight away… didn’t realise it was only a skin… waste of 🍩🍩🍩 oh, well, never mind

  3. Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday Sandytoes!, Happy Birthday to you!!
Happy Happy Birthday fellow Capricorn!!! 🥳🎂🎈🎉🎈🎊🎂🥳

  4. I passed, because I didn’t think a Character Skin + Building with no Character Tasks was worth 150 sprinkles (you will find better in the Mystery Box for that amount of 🍩’s).

This is coming from a Long Time Tapper …. a Noob may benefit from this Combo (especially if you lack certain Characters required to obtain Event Currency).

This Week is personally a downgrade from last Week.

  5. what we really REALLY need is Ice tiles!!! I try to keep everything December related on an ice land looking area… so EA if it pleases you, please, pretty please with a cherry on top, GIVE US MORE ICE TILES!!!! “Now.. I want it NOW….” (Netflix stand up reference)

  6. I didn’t realize it was a costume. I did buy it. The quest line is pretty funny. 4% bonus. Not great but helps make up for the fact that this is just a skin. And it does make me laugh so I think it’s a good buy for me.

  7. The dreaded b-day is upon me…. And i thought 44 was hard to swallow last year! Lol. Oh well….

  8. I think it’s interesting that you give this one a pass when it was an insta-purchase for me. In fact, I actively saved up for it before it came out so I could get it. Here’s why I got it:

    1) It’s a character I actually recognize. As a guy who fell off the Simpsons show for a few years, I missed a lot of these characters’ episodes. Sure, it’s only a costume and not a new character, but I’ll take another Krusty over someone like Abbey or Old Tut.

    2) More XP and Cash bonuses!? Sign me up!

    3) The decoration fits nicely next to King Winter’s Cave. It’s got an Evil Christmas vibe happening and I dig it.

    4) More Tree Hugging! It’s the only piece of my Conform-o-meter that isn’t 5 Stars (except for Socialism but that one’s tough), so anything that helps beef that up, I’m down for.

    5) I liked the questline (even though it was short) and it let me use Azzlan and Sophie again. That’s always nice.

    • I constantly have Krusty, Burns and Lovejoy recycling cans on 4-hour tasks to earn donuts from the Monorail track builder. Since cans are the most-recycled item I rarely take Krusty off the Recycling Center unless he’s needed for a quest. So at my level using a new costume for Krusty would actually hurt my progress.

  9. I was so busy on Christmas and only logged in once, so I didn’t even notice that it was just a skin. Bummer. But the cave is pretty neat when you tap it. If I had room, I’d put it in Krustyland and make a little Christmas corner. I don’t know what to do with it at the moment.

  10. It’s from the same episode. Part of Maggie’s nightmare about the Gnome in your Home.

  11. Pass for me

    • I bought it straight away. I can earn those donuts back in a few minutes

Under normal circumstances, I would’ve passed

  12. It is one of the only items this event that seems even remotely Christmassy.

    • Rusty Shackleford

Yeah, it was one of the few interesting items during this lame event. I put it in my Christmas area in Krustyland.

      • Yes I agree, however it is well overpriced as Alissa says. Donuts easy for me to recover but only about 6 months ago I would have stayed well clear at this cost.
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.
