Christmas 2019 (Abe’s In Toyland) Week 4 Is Live!

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Happy New Year!

It’s officially 10am here on the East Coast, and that means Week 4 of Abe’s in Toyland is live in Springfield!

Things kick off for week 4 with some more dialogue between Grampa and Death…

Death: Great! So that’s how you saved Christmas.
Grampa: What are you talking about? That story was about the FBI and Communists.
Death: Close enough. Off we go to the afterlife. Come on, come on!
Grampa: I’m not going through pearly gate one until I tell you how I saved Christmas.
Death: Okay, fine! I’m an emotionless specter, but, boy, I am so going to enjoy killing you.
Grampa: It all started right after my wife Mona ran away. I was bussing tables at Spiro’s Jazz Den when I met a lovely lady named Rita Lafleur. She had legs that went all the way to the place next door… Gunther’s Polka Hole.

This triggers the week 4 questline, A Jazzy Xmas Special, and is followed by 4hr task for Grampa, as well as a task to collect Week 4 Currency (50).  A Jazzy Xmas Special is the questline that will take you through unlocking all of the Week 4 prizes.

Let’s take a look at what else is in store during week 4…

Here’s EA’s synopsis for Act 4/Week 4:

Death impatiently tries to take Abe away, but he refuses to go until he tells the story of how he saved Christmas. Abe starts off recounting how he met Rita LaFleur at Spiro’s. The two hit it off and Abe does the minimum amount of parenting before getting cleaned up for a date with Rita. Abe struggles for things to talk about during the first date, so recounts all the stories that he just told Death within his story about Rita. Death gets annoyed and keeps steering Abe back on track with the story. Abe gets a ring to propose to Rita but Homer swallows it. In a rush to get a new ring, Abe crashes into Santa’s sleigh with his car. Abe and Santa strike a deal – if Abe and Rita deliver all the presents to the kids, Santa will give Abe a new ring. Abe ends up dumping most of the presents into the lake. As he finishes his story, the sun comes up. Abe has missed his chance to die. Death, fed up and bored, starts to leave, but Abe is sad because he wants to die and hates living in the retirement castle.

As I stated above, you’ll basically go right into the A Jazzy Xmas Special questline, which is what the week 4 story will follow. This questline is how you’ll unlock the Week 4 (Act 4) prizes.

  1. Ok so I’m having trouble finding an answer to this- my game won’t let me have Rita LeFleur sing a romantic song. Even when grandpa is available and I think I saw somewhere that I also need the Falling Diva Apartments. But I can’t find it anywhere! Not in my town, not in my inventory. How would I have gotten Rita without getting the apartment first?

  2. I asked this in an earlier question reply but worried it might get lost. Anyone know how I can get the crazy cat lady Xmas and Mrs Claus? I see GP them in the character collection but have no way to win or buy them. Any ideas?

  3. If you joined this Tapper in rushing thru Act 4 / Week 4? I hope you at least read the Character dialogue and appreciated a better selection of Event Prizes (I’m not defending EA’s dumb decisions in not offering up anything new Christmas wise, because I’m defending when EA epic fails!)

If you’re actually playing thru this final Week, I am sure you will appreciate it all except for the new Premium Character Building Combo (did anyone bother getting this?) We didn’t get a Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanzaa, Ramadan etc ….. we got an Event that wasn’t any Holiday themed (and it was kinda cohesive, and kinda not consistent).

  4. I’ve probably missed something in one of these posts, but I have the crazy cat lady dressed in a Santa outfit in the ‘christmas 2019’ characters. (I don’t have this) As she’s (a skin I presume) is not part of the prize track nor can I win her with the tokens- where does this come into this event?

    • Sorry – I figured it out- she was part of another event ‘Simpson’s Christmas special’ . Box must have popped up when I got one of the other characters.

      • Amy I’m seeing her as well but no way to win her. Same for Mrs Claus. They both show as options for this Xmas prize collection but I don’t see a way to get them. Anyone have ideas?

  5. Nothing says christmas like Aaron Burr and the hall of vice presidents.

    Said no one ever.

  6. Yay, I got the Grumple with my first token of this act in my other springfield, now I have him in both my worlds!

  7. Happy New Year!!!

From initial glance, the prizes look better than the premiums this week, 2 buildings and a character which seem more memorable to me than Aaron Burr and the Hall of Vice Presidents. They would’ve made more sense being offered on 4th July than Christmas and new year. Spiro and Spiro’s would have worked better as the premium building and character because they’re from the same episode as the prizes and fit the week’s theme.

  8. This event must be the most tenuous link to Christmas possible. If this had been a normal event I would have had no complaints and fine, but a Christmas event no way. Thought they could not do worse than the pagan Christmas event, but they have achieved it.

  9. …Aaron freaking Burr… EA, the heck does Aaron Burr have to do with Christmas? He even pops up in the Fourth of July character category when you buy him!

  10. FYI,,, there is no picture regarding the scrolling.

REMINDER: DO NOT FORGET TO SCROLL UP AND DOWN IN THE TASK BOXES (PICTURED ABOVE) TO BE SURE TO COMPLETE ALL TASKS FOR EACH PART.

    • to be honest, there is nothing to scroll up or down on this event… it’s just Grandpa Simpson… If anything rush his 4hr task and use him to get event currency..

      • I believe there was a scroll in the first act, but with these multi-events, that’s just a standard note I put on all of it. A CYA move basically…

  11. Not excited about this last act, big rush and move on I think 🤪😞

  12. Nothing says christmas like Aaron Burr and the hall of vice presidents.
    Happy new year everyone.

  13. Happy New Years everyone! With that I’m gonna ask a question best suited for an Open Thread:

What’s the name of the item that grants land pieces? I so messed up by not buying it.

    Cheers!
