Addicts Open Thread

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread!  So, let’s get the conversation going!  Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long.  This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!

Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING.  Just no Add me requests…those should go here.  We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

So, here is your Open Thread…..

No new Simpsons tonight.  In fact, there won’t be a new episode for about a month. (Feb 16th)  NFL playoffs are still going on, and they’ll conclude with the Superbowl in February.

ICYMI Addicts Live was all new yesterday!  We talked update and had a bit of drama amongst the crew. Check it out here if you missed it.

Holidays of Future Past is winding down, we’re in the home stretch…it ends on Wednesday.  How have you done with the prize track?  Ready for what’s next?

How’s your designing coming?  What are you doing with your town? Don’t forget Showoff is this week.  Send your submissions in to Tstoaddictsblog@gmail.com by Tuesday night!  More details here.   (If you need a refresher on how to add photos to the comments check out this post)

And finally, how was your weekend?  Do anything fun and exciting?

So chat about the Simpsons, TSTO, Update fun, or anything else you can think of! (Just no politics, it never ends well)  Can’t wait to chat with you all, you know we love hearing from you!

Have Fun!  And happy Sunday!

  1. I wish someone from the future would come back and warn me about you .

    See ya bye . 👽

  2. I started a new game last night, just because. I have to say that I’m really enjoying the grind & the wait but especially the Levels. I’m going to take my time with it, no pressure or desire to get to any particular level in a hurry. I’ve just got Krusty btw🥰X

  3. Looks like we both had a bit of luck at last. I have just picked up your four so well done to us both!

    • You got me! El quatro! Lol

      • I have taken over from Adey as he is not able to visit most of his friends so I am pleased to know that I have succeeded on his behalf.
You should try it out as you get such buzz when you pull it off.

        • I just dont get how?

          • How to get an “El Quattro” (or “4-Peat”, as I tend to call ‘em) ===
Basic Idea: you need to hit them just before a timer expires, so you can tag ‘em again a few minutes later. This is the procedure for a SINGLE neighboreeno. Repeat as necessary!
SO…. first, start their timer with a single hit, leaving two hits available. When the timer’s ALMOST expired, tag the neighbor twice. As soon as the timer expires, tag the neighbor twice more, getting the last 2 tags, and your first El Quattro/4-Peat. This leaves one available tag, AND re-starts the timer.
When this timer has ALMOST expired, tag the neighbor once. As soon as the timer expires, tag the neighbor’s 3 remaining taggables. This gives you the Double El Quattro/4-Peat!!!
I found it necessary to write down, for each taggable neighbor, where Moe’s, the Police Station, the School, and City Hall were, and to keep track of which ones I’d hit.
            Hope this helps!
            – Mark

          • Further to Mark’s explanation here you may also want to look at the original conversation involving yourself, Mark (cpuworks), Nico, Adey and me inthe Open Thread August 26th 2019.

    • PS: to all my taggable friends: you will not probably have to fear El Quattros from me for a couple weeks – we’re taking a trip, and I’ll likely be ITG (In The Game) very infrequently… see y’all when we return!

  4. Did I miss the Krustyland ticket conversion being taken away?

  5. Question, fellow tappers. I finally got the yellow submarine, and have had really good luck getting brown boardwalk tiles. On the more rare occasions I get the fancy whiter ones, they almost never show up in my to inventory. ANYWHERE! Ideas on what try?
I’m afraid to ask EA for fear of being put on the complainer list and getting the Bart screen of death even more often!

    • My PIER tiles are in two places in my inventory. 1. At the very end of my Springfield Heights folder and 2. At the vey end of my entire inventory list. They are NOT in my decorations folder and they are NOT in alphabetical order like most other objects.

      • Easiest place to find tiles is by clicking on the ‘four directional arrow’ icon in the bottom right of the screen. On the bottom left, coming out of the ‘construction Homer’ icon, you’ll see monorail pieces, road tiles, pavement tiles, river tiles, boardwalk tiles, ornate pier tiles, old west road tiles, dirt tiles, cobblestone tiles, and Krustyland tiles.

Can I just get a Woo Hoo for buying all the items in the Yearbook? I never was a donut farmer because I thought I would have to do math. But I suddenly realized I had a bunch of cash so I farmed what I could, built up my bonus and continued to farm. It was a fun goal!

  7. To whomever made EA mad please apologize and maybe they will fix all the glitches .
I am still unable to visit friends .

    See ya bye . 👽

  8. Happy Sunday gang! Kept myself busy thru this foo foo event by finishing the Road to Riches/Rock and a Hard Place thing. The wrecking ball task for Homer is pretty amusing😁 But thats about it. Carry on…better things are coming….i can feel it!

    • “Carry on…better things are coming….i can feel it!” Should be on a T shirt lol, happy tapping or as the case might be lol😁

  9. This is something that has been bugging me for a while now. When the Office of Unemployment was changed so that you could send all characters on tasks, one of the things EA did was to ensure that the characters had single tasks for each of the time periods.

But since then, they keep on introducing new characters that require another character. For example Retired Homer does not have a stand alone 24 hour task. The character requires Empty-Nest Marge. But if you use the Office of Unemployment to send your characters on tasks, it sends Empty-Nest Marge on a 24 hour task, so you are stuck with no 24 hour task available for Retired Homer.

Can EA please stop introducing characters that require another character to send on a task. Or at least have multiple time tasks so that there is always a task available that does not require another character.

And while on that, also when using the Office of Unemployment to speed up character tasks to complete them, also include those characters that are on joint tasks .

    (I know first world problems)

    • MangoFusion01 (FKA NicoRox13)

On top of that, I bought santa claus in December. His 1, 12 and 24 hour tasks requires his house. Which of course, I don’t have. So hos task list consists if two 4 hour and one 8 hour tasks.

      Egad!!!!!

  10. Problem! My Daily Challenge was “Buy Milk”, and like a doofus I sent everyone on it. Now, I can’t fully clear the task. I _have_ gotten credit for it, and I’ve cleared the stack of thumbs-ups on the Kwikee Mart, finally. (It kept clearing, then coming back when returning to the game. I did a hard-stop on my iPad after stopping the game, and now the stack no longer reappears.) BUT… Bart is still at the upper-left, with a check mark, but clicking that just takes me to the KM. It doesn’t clear anything. My “Town Census” still shows about half of my characters as “Buy Milk”. HELP! How do I get the dang game to escape this infinite loop? (Next time, I gotta remember to either skip this task, or only send the minimum # required.)
(BTW, if this shows up on last week’s Open Thread, credit another “Senior Moment” of mine…)

    • D’oh! Google is your friend…. Store the KM, go to neighboreeno to force a sync, then replace KM. Ta-da! Color me embarrassed for “PBG in the First Degree” (Posting Before Googling)

    • I think I just managed the ‘El Quattro’ after many failures this week!

      • You sure did! Maybe I’ll get some tonight, after a similar number of failures lately… it requires organization – AND remembering to set the appropriate alarm! Too much like work…

    • Take advantage of it… turn on the Collider and harvest as many donuts as you can and cash… I had that happen a few times and collected about 100 donuts.. till I decided to store the KEM and put it back out.

      • Yeah, I did that a few times, but I have enough donuts for now, so after a few cycles I just stored the KEM.

        • But that is the original KEM and you need that for taskes of some main characters. If you store it you will notice that you will have locked tasks
What you may want to do in future daily task that this happens on.. is to just send the required amount.. (usually 5) and this loop won’t happen.
You will have to sacrifice the time amount.. but at least you won’t have the glitch. Or you can just trade the task for another one.. by tapping the the X on the corner of the task. This will give you a new one.
The first time I had this happen it cause me to lose donuts i earned in that session when I exited the game or visited neighbours.. took over 4 months to get that corrected.

          • I said that poorly. I should have said “I stored the KEM, THEN went to a neighbor to force a sync and RESTORED the KEM”. I left out most of the procedure in my note. D’oh!
