It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

No new Simpsons tonight. It’s Superbowl Sunday! (the Simpsons will be back on the 16th)
Tonight it’s the Chiefs vs. the 49ers. What’s your pick for the game? Do you care about the game or are you just excited for the commercials? Or will you be watching something totally different?
Still no updates in TSTO. Hopefully, something hits this week. We shall see. Oh and just a reminder, I’ll be away this week. (detailed it in this post) So if an update does hit, I’ll try to get something up for you…but it likely won’t be as detailed as I usually am. I’ll be sure to catch you all up when I’m back though…

Just checked the App Store and there was an iOS update! So we should have a new quest when I wake up tomorrow. Hopefully it’s a fun one and not just a grind away every 4 hours. Or at least some new content worth spending on.

Maxed out the cash. I have been buying up loads of land that I have no use for. Probably spent too much for the 3.5 – 4 mil squares. Oh well. Would really like another construction project by Cecil Terwilliger.
I can’t buy anything other than land b/c of the game limits. I’m about 11,000 I think. It still lets me buy, though. Could probably move all my jet engines bikes into the ocean. Hmmm….overseas cargo trading. …
I can get 6 🍩 for every RTT. Maybe a better use of cash.
What do you buy when all the land is gone?
Any really good designs that incorporate a lot of land?
I’ve been maxed out at cash and have nothing to spend it on either.
I missed out on the wailing wall glitch (Zut alors) or would have spent billions there.
I wish there was an option like in clash of clans, to have 2 or 3 different town layouts for your Springfield. That’d be so cool. You could have one for example where everything’s just mashed into a corner for easy collection and other ones where you are slowly working on making a work of art, lol.
Does anyone ever watch an episode of the Simpsons and see possible content for the game in it?
I watched “Lisa Goes Gaga” yesterday and while many people don’t like the episode, there is quite a lot of possible content from the episode that could appear in the game. The most obvious being Lady Gaga as a character while there is more possible items like the brass knuckle statue; Mormon church; the farm, farmer and farmer’s mother; Lady Gaga express train; train conductor; Springfield billboards; crowd of demon dancers; the other crowd of dancers at the union station; humming birds npc or decoration; flash mob crowd; Baby GooGoo outfit for Maggie; giant egg decoration and the stage at the end.
We already got the Slaughterhouse Express and Spotlight Dance Bot from the episode so the rest of these is still possible.
Another thing, apparently the Simpsons predicted the coronavirus (didn’t realise that was a word on here) with the Osaka flu episode 27 years ago.

Yeah, that’s why I said apparently since I seen it appear on articles and YouTube.
I don’t think I’ve ever looked at an episode and thought of content that could be derived from it.
Oh wait, yes I do. In fact, I’ve done a whole Bracket Battle on 64 such episodes. 🙂
But good call with the Gaga episode.

Both of my teams got cheated, so I refuse to watch the Superbowl. Can’t wakt for the XFL season to start.
Been working on finishing up some of the little side things in the game. Finished Cecil’s tasks earlier this week. Should have the IRS finished off by Wednesday or so. Making it harder on myself because I won’t let myself drop below $100,000,000. After this I am on to Springfield Heights (ugh) and then I guess the aspirational buildings. I so wish the game would out commas in the prices, I loose track of the zeroes.
Any tips for hitting the billion in SH?
Can you max out your % bonus? What is the maximum amount of cash you can accumulate?

My bonus is 5036 + some decimals. I get a 123 donut selection for every 2 KEMs. No problem with gameplay or excessive Bart screens.

Looks like Allegiant Stadium is almost done (future Home of the Las Vegas Raiders, on 3333 Al Davis Way, with 1700 WiFi access points & 2200 digital screens), but don’t be surprised if Las Vegas goes after a Baseball Team / Basketball Team next and / or drafts a new team (need a new Stadium? we can build it!)⚾🏀

Sometimes I wonder what the future of The Simpsons will be (will the broadcast on FOX come to an end? will EA eventually lose the rights to video games? can we have an expansion of Springfield at Universal Studios?) 🤔

Add to that how we’ve approached NASCAR, along with the National Finals Rodeo (NFR), an other events (ie Electric Daisy Carnival, Psychofest) …. we’ve become more than a Convention destination (oh yeah, even our Convention zone is getting remodeled into what I refer to as “very EPCOT”).
It’s surreal, but I think it forced Miami to do some things to impress the NFL into hosting the Superbowl (and it could change how a Town hosts a World Series). Just don’t get me started on sports books (that is growing and no League will stop it).

Happy Sunday everyone. It’s been a while. I kind of feel energised and enthused since starting my new game. I’m really taking my time and enjoying all the dialogue and animations. I have to say that it really does help having the daily challenges that award land tokens & donuts. I’m grinding towards getting Bart now. I’m nowhere near getting the first friendship prize. It doesn’t help that I can’t collect from all my neighbours, yet they can visit me. I tested it with my two other games so I know the fault lies with EA. Ebron I visited your town & nearly drowned🤣 but couldn’t tap. Likewise all of my neighbours from way back. So I’m visiting but EA needs to fix the glitch. I’ve put my new game name on the get neighbours page but if any of my longstanding neighbours would like to help me out I’m EllaBella3000. Addicts team I hope you let this slide as I know it’s not the place but I’d really like some of my old friends on my new game. I’ve rediscovered the joy of the game again. In the episode where Flanders opened the store selling left handed stuff I always felt that Homer was portrayed as uncharacteristically evil. He is typically ignorant and selfish but barely deliberately wicked. What do you think?

I don’t know, when it comes to Flanders, homer does seem to have a fairly evil streak. I wouldn’t say calling someone stupid is ignorant or selfish, but rather evil. Taking all of his appliances and electronics and tools, but not returning them intentionally, again evil, not ignorant or stupid in my opinion.
Towards the end of the episode Homer realises he has gone to far and redeems himself by bringing lots of business to Ned’s store. Too me this again suggests that he had acted uncharacteristically evil up to that point. Also I never really felt that calling Ned “stupid flanders” was truly evil, if he had said it to a mentally disabled person on the other hand then I grant that would have been pretty evil!

You do feel sorry for Ned Flanders (especially after Maude died) …. and there are times when Homer Simpson is quite the oaf (I guess he’s meant to be ‘the fool’ Jimminy Cricket warns us about) … but I’ve never found an Episode to be very malicious (maybe overloading the lampooning, perhaps)

My game is still constantly crashing making it impossible to play!! Im on level 540 and been playing for years but am thinking about giving up! Any suggestions please? I literally can’t get on at all anymore. I’ve opened a case……

Is it perhaps a device issue? Are you using an older device or is your device quite full?
Mines is the same, and none of the above, full and new ?
Safi is offering up an important inquiry (what sort of device are you using? Android? Apple? Kindle? how much RAM do you have? How much ROM?)
TSTO takes up space to download, requires quite a bit of free space, plays better with at least 3 Gigs RAM / 32 Gigs ROM (the more the better) and definitely the latest OS. Devices over 4 years old are not recommended.
Bart Simpson Screen of Death – yeah I get it more often, but it could be EA’s Network (or it could be the Network you are using to connect to the Game App).
I’d say have all info handy, because Tech Support is going to ask just about everything I asked. I’ve had quick assistance via @EAHelp on Twitter (usually within 30 minutes).
I love this game very much but I am very sad to see the current situation in which it finds itself, but as everything has an end it was to be expected that things would stay this way. but changing the subject I play since 2014 and I’ve been with you ever since and the best I’m Brazilian o/ (Sorry for bad English).

Several months ago I won 3 Flaming Torches in a row at my Excavation Site
Yesterday I got 3 in 4 .
And I got 4 in 50 pickaxes – one sitting as it were.
