Black History Month Prize Guide: Act 1, Prizes 1-3 Black History Sign, Adult Skateboards, and Martin Dressed Like Africa

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s update time in Springfield!  And after 8 years of TSTO, we’re finally tackling Black History Month!  No time like the present for EA, huh?   What’s in store for us this time?  Well, we’re tasked with finding out the history of Dr. Hibbert, Carl, Lou, and the Simpson Family!  Loads of dialogue with this one, so be sure to read along to see what happens! And of course, I’ll be posting it as each week wraps up.

Black History Month (Heroes of Springfield) follows the same event structure of the Multi-Events before it.  This event consists of 4 parts (or Acts), with each part lasting a week and taking us through a new part of the event!

For Act 1 we’re tasked with collecting stethoscopes!  Each part of the story will unlock another prize themed for the first part of the story, Dr. Hibbert’s history.

So let’s take a look at prizes 1, 2, and 3 on the Black History Prize track…the Black History Sign, Adult Skateboards, and Martin’s Animated task…

And that’s it my friends, the details of the first 3 Black History prizes in TSTO!

Up next? A Black History Mystery Box token and then Clarissa Wellington!

Thoughts on the first week?  How are you doing with the prize track? Still working on it? (don’t worry Act 2 doesn’t start until Friday, so you’ve got a couple more days than usual)  Sound off below!

  1. I think the problem was the quest box was saying week 1 ran until 12th Feb, so we were all behind.

  2. I got Golden Goose Realty today!
    🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩

  3. With these kind of boring just grinding event, i’m glad act 1 is over. Probaby act 2 will be more of the same. I rushed thru about 1/3 (maybe a bit more).

    • I think Act 2 may be more rewarding if you like obtaining more Characters …. I am in agreement that More Grinding Less Rewarding is how one feels when they end up with Event Prizes that going right into Storage (all I have left is University Nerds in the Black History Month Mystery Box, so I know what to expect in Act 2 after I get a Token).

At least we get 9 days (so even if you spend sprinkles to rush thru, you can Farm back those 🍩’s)

  4. Finished act 1 minimum donut spend, woohoo not!!!!

  5. Am I mistaken.. isn’t act two supposed to start today?

  6. Got the token today ( Had to use some donuts to catch up ) and got the Springfield Collosium. Best prize so far, the others were pretty lame.

  7. A quick heads up to everyone (especially Alissa for when she’s doing the prize 4 and 5 post): When you finally unlock Clarissa Willington, which I finally just did!, you get the Pageant Stage decoration for free if you didn’t get it back during 2018’s Christmas event. I assume that means that Clarissa’s questline needs the Pageant Stage in order to be completed.

So, for newbie-ishes like me get another decoration for completing this prize track! Bonus prize!

    • Yes, one of her tasks is at the pageant stage. 🙂

      • Ooooh! EA must have been reading my mind. After we got the Old Theatre District I put a little area together near my Winter/ Christmas area with the Aztec and put the Pageant Stage between the Community Theater and The Screens. I was wishing tbere were more options for visual tasks there and now there will be! 🤗

  8. ZZZ Sounds about right except for the fun character interaction I had with Martin that I described on open thread.
I’m actually doing pretty well time wise considering I was on a work double the day the event dropped and didn’t start it until after 10pm (they drop at 7am for me) and I didn’t buy the premium for the first 3 rounds I sent characters on (won’t do that again, premiums first thing). I’m halfway to earning Clarissa. Should go even faster next week now that I know the cityscaper strategy, as I’m dubbing it. [See Patric’s Friday Filler math mayhem for details]

  9. not impressed…. at all… but its an event… so yeah… it even kind of hurts to spend farmed sprinkles to complete/rush it. ….

    • I’m sitting on 3,000 🍩’s , so rushing when necessary didn’t bother me (I farmed back the 🍩’s anyways) …. it’s just More Grinding , Less Rewarding 🙄

      • I was sitting on 5.5k donuts… am down to almost 4k… rushing and premium characters… I noticed that once I start to RT farming, the game starts to give out the Bart screen…. so its a slow process.

        • Yeah I only do a little 🍩 farming at a time now (or else the Bart Screen). I still have over 2000 🍩’s , so whatever I spend the sprinkles on? I can slowly farm back in a week.

Fair to say the dialogue is better for this Event, yet the Event Prizes are not worth the Grind (except maybe 30%). I believe if you choose to rush thru an Act, it’s because you have better things to do (well that’s me) and you don’t want to risk not completing an Act in time (seeing that from other Tappers).

  10. hi, I got the in game message that I can trade my spare landtockens for donuts in the store (as I bought all available land(, where can i find this in the store?

  11. Yeah got to say for myself this event is a little more demanding… I feel like if you haver a job and need to sleep it’s actually kinda impossible to finish without rushing even with the premium character. Yes i’m aware we still have till tomorrow and I’m only about to finish he coin…. still this track was a life killer to complete.

  12. Season 21 Episode 13 ‘s “The Color Yellow” is worth watching to see everything this Event will reference (while that Episode is worth your time, these lame Event Prizes are not!) 🙄

    More Grinding, Less Rewarding 🤦🏼‍♂️

  13. I remember the Adult Skateboards was from a future episode but I couldn’t remember which one. I looked on YouTube and found it was from “Days of Future Future”. It only appeared for about 5 seconds then after that the MovingOn clinic appeared (which has a bigger role in the episode than it does in the game).

    • The Black History Month Sign probably would’ve been better if it was a decoration instead of a skin for Springfield Elementary but with the item limit it might’ve been better off as a skin. We did just get a skin for the school in the last update. At least it has a different sound but the same animation. 🏫

Adult Skateboards is something that I think will work with the blue ramp that comes with Poochie or the Springfield Skatepark that comes with Nikki McKenna (I stored the blue ramp and don’t have the Skatepark so I’ll probably find somewhere for it). I liked the dialogue between Dr. Hibbert and the Squeaky Voiced Teen about Adult Skateboards and the fourth wall joke. I like the animation and that Hibbert had a task there. 🛹

The “Present History Project” task is an ok task but could’ve been better on how it was awarded, maybe it could’ve been a requirement to complete No Laughing Matter pt. 4 along with Hibbert’s task or a short 1 part questline that says “Make Martin Present History Project”, I also wish it was a different length of time instead of 4 hours. 🇿🇦

Out of the three, I’d say the Adult Skateboards is the best since it had the most interaction in the game. Not sure on Clarissa since I haven’t unlocked her yet. I’m guessing this is the act with the underwhelming prizes.

    • ah great!

    Zzzzzzz.

That my impression of the first three prizes, but, here’s the catch. If you do sleep, you won’t get through the first act.

I got Report Card with my token.

I should be finished Act I with my next visit, I have 31 more pretzels to go! And I didn’t accelerate any tasks.

Then I can lick my wounds and get ready to be beaten up in Act II.

    • I’m soooooo behind. I only just started the token. As for the prizes, the vast majority of them, for months now, don’t even need names. They can just be called “storage”, because that is where they go. Only the character at the end of the line is worth anything, and they are starting to look less and less worth the trouble, when you consider the grind you have to endure to get them. Bah!

      • MangoFusion01 (FKA NicoRox13)

I get the impression that you are feeling very cranky. 😉.

Hang in there and keep tapping. I do have the premium character to help, i don’t know if that accounts for the difference, or whether it’s just that I have sent them through the grind a few more times.
