Black History Month 2020: Turbo Tappin’ Act 2, Fair-Weather Father

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s update time in Springfield!  And after 8 years of TSTO, we’re finally tackling Black History Month!  No time like the present for EA, huh?   What’s in store for us this time?  Well, we’re tasked with finding out the history of Dr. Hibbert, Carl, Lou, and the Simpson Family!  Loads of dialogue with this one, so be sure to read along to see what happens! And of course, I’ll be posting it as each week wraps up.

Black History Month (Heroes of Springfield) follows the same event structure of the Multi-Events before it.  This event consists of 4 parts (or Acts), with each part lasting a week and taking us through a new part of the event!

For Act 2 we’re tasked with collecting Hard Hats, as we follow Carl’s story!  Each part of the story will unlock another prize themed for the second part of the story, Carl’s history with his father.  So let’s take a look at the details behind Act 2 and the Turbo Tappin’ Version for Fair-Weather Father…

  1. I couldn’t take the snail pace of this event. So I used doughnuts to speed my way through.

I’ve got thousands of doughnuts saved up that I can’t use for anything else. My time is more valuable to me than the stupid doughnuts.

    Act 2 done. Thank Jeebus.

  2. Thank you for posting this, Alissa (yes, Patric’s calendar math gets updated, provided you have every Character and both Premium Characters, so 71 every 4 hours is an improvement)👍🏻

  3. (I am updating this information for Act 2, because different buildings are being used than were used for Act 1).

    —–
Here’s how to create two separate character groups in Act 2, each of which will go to two different buildings, either the Control Building of the nuclear power plant, or the (somewhat obscure) Rigellian Construction Site. That way a group can be added to one of the two different questlines.

This is helpful when you are currently near the end of a questline. You can send just the minimum number of characters needed to finish a current questline to the Control Building, and send the rest of your characters over to the Rigellian Construction Site, where they can then be used for the beginning of the next questline.

    Step-by-step instructions:
    1. First, store your Rigellian Construction Site, thus assuring that no one will go there for the moment (but first do make sure the Construction Site is empty!) Again, please make sure the construction site is empty before storing it.
    2. Then send on a quest just the number of characters you need to finish the current questline – they will all go to nuclear plant’s Control Building.
    3. Now place your Rigellian Construction Site back in Springfield.
    4. Then send the rest of your characters on the quest. They will all go to the Rigellian Construction Site, not to nuclear plant’s Control Building.
    5. After the four hours are up, remember to first tap on the nuclear plant’s Control Building to finish the old questline, and then tap on the Rigellian Construction Site, which will credit the new questline.

Many of you may not have the Rigellian Construction Site, but that is the way that this questline seems to be set up. I could not find any other buildings that could be used for getting hard hats,
The Rigellian Construction Site building was part of the December 2017 event. It was the Act 1, Prize 6 prize.

  4. Just dropped by to complain so feel free to stop reading now.
I’ve been experiencing the BART SCREEN again since before this event. It’s not a memory problem because it happens on multiple devices. It was a little better with the event update but now happens every time I try to farm some donuts. EVERY TIME. Hard to believe this is a coincidence. Also, I am just over these mind numbing events and having to store items just to get new items and stay a dozen or so below the limit to be able to farm with RTDTs. I worked hard (and spent considerable real $) for years to build a Springfield that I love. Tearing it apart piece by piece just to get more stuff by grinding through joyless events is not worth the time and frustration. I can live without this game. End of rant.

    • I’ve also been noticing the Bart screen more often though On reflection this is fairly typical for me during events, presumably due to the extra demand on the games servers.

      • You would be correct sir. It levels out over time in each ACt…as when the new act first hits, people pound the server every 4 hours, after it’s live. After a bit, people fall off of the routine.

    • I know your frustrations fellow Tapper and myself (along with others) have the same “angry frustrated this Game App isn’t worth it” feelings.

I encourage everyone to let EA know how you feel on Twitter and Facebook (I tend to playfully heckle vs angry rant, but EA needs a virtual earful!) 🙄

  5. Prizes seem better this time.😀

    • More Characters 😀
(definitely need to spend the sprinkles on the Premium Character Building Combo in every Act) 👍🏻

      • Sorry we only get 1 presidential kids
        Can we buy more later?

        • I don’t know – I stored them (no interest in useless Decor that will trigger a “warning you are exceeding your Item Limits”), but hey this is the underpaid overworked Bob @ EA TSTO Team way of coding an Event (he’s not going to remember when Prior Prizes were offered as extra Content to spend Simpsons$ on later, he doesn’t have time to code that) 🤔
