It’s officially 10am here on the East Coast, and that means Act 2 of the Black History Event is live in Springfield!
Things kick off for Act 2 with some dialogue between Carl and Bart…
Carl: Bart, you want to do your Black History Month report on me? But why?
Bart: You’re the black person I most admire.
Carl: Really?
Bart: Totally! You’ve saved my dad’s life a million times by turning him on his side when he was passed out.
Carl: Are you sure there isn’t someone you admire more? Thurgood Marshall? Nelson Mandela? The cool bad guy from Black Panther?
Bart: Those guys are great, but I don’t want to research. So let’s do this thing already! I’m brokering a fireworks deal with Nelson in half an hour.
Carl: Eh, why not? But I can’t tell the story of my life without talking about the guy who got me here. My deadbeat dad, Carl Sr. The spelunker, excavator, and hyper-capitalist founder of the Carl’s Dad Caverns.
This triggers the Act 2 questline,Fair-Weather Father, and is followed by 4hr tasks for Carl, as well as a task to collect Act 2 Currency (350). Fair-Weather Father is the questline that will take you through unlocking all of the Act 2 prizes.
Let’s take a look at what else is in store during Act 2…

Carl relates his tale of paternal neglect, and how he’s sent back to Carl’s Dad Caverns on a mission from
God to save Springfield, a quest that lands him on Opal’s talk show facing the wrath of a jealous Ned
Flanders!
As I stated above, you’ll basically go right into the Fair-Weather Father questline, which is what the Act 2 story will follow. This questline is how you’ll unlock the Act 2 prizes.

Characters earn:
5/4hrs for Freemium
8/4hrs for New Premium
Max of 71 every 4hrs
You’ll need 2,000 , total for this one. This will be the hardest currency amount for this event (you’ll need if for Acts 2 and Acts 3).
It will take you the ENTIRE time between Act 2 and Act 3 (Act 3 starts on the 23rd…9 days from now) clearing 4 times/day to complete. It is possible to do it Freemium. You just have to log in 4 times/day starting today…and you’ll likely complete the track just before Act 3 starts on the 23rd.
If you log in more frequently than 4 times/day you’ll finish quicker, and if you buy the Act 2 premium character you’ll finish quicker. But don’t think you’ll finish with days to spare like the other events (unless you spend donuts to rush tasks), because you won’t. This event is designed to move slow. This seems to be EA’s response for those who complained the other events were too easy and they finished too early…
Personally, I think EA was missing the point about too easy…BRING BACK PUZZLES LIKE FROM STONECUTTERS!….but at least you know they’re listening. They’re hearing it wrong, but they’re listening…
Act 1 Prizes
These are STILL unlockable if you haven’t completed that prize track. You have until the event ends to unlock ALL the prizes. So keep going with Act 1 if you haven’t yet finished it.

Here’s what’s included today:

Stogie and Hard Lad Nightclub- 150 Donuts. According to my info sheet from EA it leaves the 23rd, according to the files it leaves March 12th (when the event ends). I’m inclined to believe the files…because that’s what’s coding the game.
All other returning content, that arrived during Act 1 remains until the event ends.

I would encourage letting EA know of Network issues on Twitter @EAHelp or on the TSTO Game App Facebook Page (you are 1 of 1,000’s who have a problem connecting to the Game App, make some noise at EA or they won’t care).
How do you unlock Carl’s Dad Caverns? I’ve completed part 1 and unlocked the animated task but it didn’t unlock? 😣😣 I’ve wanted the Caverns for ages 😭😂

Well this Decor originated from the Wild West 2016 Event (9th Prize, Act 3), so that’s up to EA ….. either EA offers it up via a Mystery Box, or? (for those of you missing this Decor, make some noise on Twitter @EAHelp , or the TSTO Game App Facebook Page – if you don’t call out EA? they won’t care!)
I finished the first prize of Act 2 but it didn’t unlock Carl’s Dad Caverns for me. I even got Carl to do his new animated job in the hopes that doing it would unlock the Caverns and it didn’t. He just did his animation in front of the Brown House. Anyone else who doesn’t have the Caverns get it to unlock?

You’re referring to a Decor that originated from the
Wild West 2016 Event and was the 9th Prize in Act 3 from that Event (Carl’s Dad’s Cavern)….. so my guess is it’s up to EA to offer up that Decor you’re referring to via a Mystery Box, or else the Character of Carl is going to a Brown House (queue sad trombone).
Do some people out there actually visit their town every 4 hours?….even waking to do so??…man, buy some rat trap trucks and rush things a little if you’re actually doing that… it can be an addicting game, but that’s really just pretty sad…
Assuming you have both Premium characters, and assuming 1 character is used at the start of each prize task that doesn’t earn currency, the 300 and 475 item prizes will allow you to earn 45 and 16 on ACT 1, or 122 Stethoscopes. That is 29 4 hour tasks (5,5,7,5,7) for all the prizes. That is 3 a day for 10 days.
Anyone else not been able to log in today??
I keep getting the Bart Server error screen and haven’t been able to get on all day, I’ve tried on wifi and on mobile data but been getting nowhere.
Also keep having to update the game, around 1800Mb, at least once a day, every day. Anyone any ideas?
I’m using a Galaxy Note 9, that’s less then 4 months old.
Your device has plenty of RAM and ROM (with the latest Android OS), but you’re not the only one who’s getting the Bart Simpson Screen of Death (I got it twice today and just gave up on Tapping – another reason why I use 🍩’s to expedite this Act 2 – I don’t have time for L-EA-Z-Y’s lack of maintaining a Network!)
It’s going to take all Tappers with a Network issue to voice their frustration at EA via Twitter and Facebook.
Has anyone else encountered this glitch: I bought Jay G the first time he was offered, but my game is still saying I can buy him AND the Jay G I already have won’t work as a premium character in this event. He does not have that task option.

EA obviously doesn’t care (or EA Bob is too overworked, underpaid to deal with the glitches in Game).
I think Tappers should just avoid what isn’t in the Mystery Box, or what isn’t a new Premium Character that helps earn Event Currency.
Why does this event ask for so many items needed to move from task to task? Other events started slowly, 200, to 300 items. However, this event started at 400 items to start and is staying around that number. Is it being difficult in honor of Black History Month?
It’s being difficult because people complained it was too easy, and this is EA’s response.
You are right Alissa, only we did not complain about it was too easy, most of us complained that it wasn’t challaging enough. As it is now, I wonder if new players will get everything. Long time players have enough donuts to rush it, but i don’t think that is really the purpose.
Like this, they scare away newer players, and annoy the old crocodiles.
This is not really the way i want to play. Since weekend is coming up, and then i don’t log in more than 2 times a day, it will be a bad weel for donuts
I had to rush Act 1 as I started late. This meant spending around 40 Donuts to earn a token for 12 donuts. The irony.
Well, the constructive criticism we offered EA regarding “this is a dumb grind” has been turned into “this is more of a grind, and it’s not rewarding” (EA takes what we say, then makes decisions, but you still have a voice if it’s not offering good game play – just send constructive criticism to EA via Twitter and Facebook).
This act is light on buildings and decorations. It would’ve been nice if Clarissa Wellington helped along with the two premiums. The prizes might be a bit better than Act1’s prizes.
Unfortunately, those Characters that help earn extra Event Currency are only Premiums …. but Act 2 is letting you use 2 Premium Characters (if you got all Characters going? it’s 71 every 4 hours)
Yeah, that’s great with the 2 premiums helping out since more currency is needed for this act.
I got Clarissa at 10pm last night. This time I bought the new premium right away [and you can still use Hibberts Dad] but I think this week will be easier because I don’t really care about having a 3rd Abe Simpson in my town and there’s nothing left in my mystery box, so once I get Opal, it’s meh time.
Ooops, I think it’s actually Abes dad or Grampa, so I might care a smidge more just to have Virgil, Mabel and Abe together.
I thought orville the guy we unlocked in the previous event was abe simpson’s dad. but perhaps it’s me that’s wrong.
According to Simpson’s wiki Abraham Simpson I is Mabel and Virgil’s son and Grampa’s great-grandfather.
I believe Orville is Grampa’s (Abe II) dad, Old Tut (also from the same event) is Orville’s dad and Abe Simpson I is Old Tut’s dad.
Abe Simpson I is Bart, Lisa and Maggie’s great great great grandfather, Homer’s great great grandfather, Grampa’s (Abe II) great grandfather, Orville’s grandfather, and Old Tut’s dad.
I could be wrong but that’s how I followed it when Grampa mentioned in an episode that Abraham Simpson I was his great grandfather and Mabel and Virgil’s son.
By the end of this event we will have 8 generations of Simpsons men: Virgil > Abraham Simpson I > Old Tut > Orville > Abe ‘Grampa’ > Homer > Bart and Bart’s future sons Jiff and Skippy [or Kirk and Picard]

Don’t get excited over Prizes 1 & 2 🙄 (L-EA-Z-Y isn’t trying), but do know that Prize 3 is appreciated (you’ll obtain plenty of Characters in Act 2!) 😉
I got sooooo many 🍩’s that I made the decision to rush through Act 2 (Prizes 1,2,3), so I can slack the rest of today (Happy Valentine’s Day 🖤🦇 !)
Finished act 1 Wednesday, bought Carl’s dad , just logging in when I feel like it, chilling, don’t know what I will do with the token? Nothing in the box

With no premium character or even Bernice Hibbert I managed to complete act 1 15 mins after act 2 released! I now have Bernice so hopefully I can do the same again

I’m confused. I have every character in the game,and I still have over half a day to get the last character of the first prize track. I logged in every 4 hrs every day of the event.
