Should I Spend Donuts on Stogie and the Hard Lad Nightclub?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s update time in Springfield!  And after 8 years of TSTO, we’re finally tackling Black History Month!  No time like the present for EA, huh?   What’s in store for us this time?  Well, we’re tasked with finding out the history of Dr. Hibbert, Carl, Lou, and the Simpson Family! Of course, an all-new event means all-new premium content in our stores, just tempting us to drop those pink sprinkles!

As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add Stogie and the Hard Lad Nightclub to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this Moonglow combo to your town…

Pros
-Helps with the event, earns a special premium rate (will earn it for the entire event)
-Comes with a questline

Cons
-Not Voiced
-Hard Lad does not have tasks

Final Thought
This is a standard 150 donut combo.  Character + building.  Unfortunately, this building does not have a task associated with it…unlike other combos.  But this character will be useful for the entire event.  And with this event premium characters are proving to be important.

Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and I picked him up.  With this event, premium characters really are a premium and extremely helpful for the entire event.  But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Here’s a look at the tasks…

Stogie’s Permanent Tasks:

Task Length Earns Location
Work Night Shift 1hr $105, 26xp MoHo House
Hide Nuclear Waste in a Piano 4hrs $260, 70xp Power Plant

Play Moonglow 12hrs $600, 150xp Outside/Visual
Share the Music 24hrs $1,000, 225xp Outside/Visual

I’ll have the full dialogue of the questline up later on, but for now, here’s the Turbo Tappin’ version of the questline…

  1. Thanks for the post Alissa. Quick question: If you don’t have MoHo House then where does Stogie go for his 1 hour job? This is the second building in this update to not get any permanent task with it.

    • There wasn’t a second building listed in the files. My guess would be brown house but I cant say for sure

      • Thanks again Alissa. EA remembers he’s from the MoHo House episode and gives Stogie a task there but doesn’t add a task at Hard Lad. Stogie also works a very short night shift. At least he helps for the rest of the event which I say is the main thing.

    • Alissa is very accurate …. when in doubt, a Task will take place in the Brown House (not like we don’t have enough Character Tasks in the Brown House, lol!)

I would think MoHo House (a tall High Rise Building) with Nigel should be available in the Mystery Box …. worth getting for some 🍩’s.

  2. After being a couple hours behind In act1 when I’m normally ahead of the curve with events I felt like if I wanted to finish this event at 💯 I didn’t have a choice but to buy this premium character.
This entire event’s odd timing of how long it’s lasting & uneven currency needed to earn each prize is really throwing off my rhythm.

    • I’m going to assume if EA continues letting each new Premium Character Building Combo you spend 🍩’s to contribute towards earning Event Currency …. then that could be 3 Premium Characters in Act 3 (so – yeah the amount of Event Currency to collect is rather high – but 3 Premium Characters earning Event Currency will definitely help)

  3. Stogie and the Hard Lad Nightclub

    Yes because:

An extra Character earning Event Currency at a Premium is helpful (that’s two Premium Characters in Act 2)

His Tasks outside of earning Event Currency are amusing to play thru (do enjoy it – especially the dialogue – when you finish obtaining everything in Act 2)

You get a swell Building (Hard Lad Nightclub*) even though it’s got nothing to do with Stogie (he’s an homage to Sam in the movie Casablanca), but hey check out the Episode “Moho House” (21st Episode, Season 28) and appreciate the voice work by Kevin Michael Richardson! 😉👌🏻

    * yep, another Building from “Days of Future Future” that’s got nothing to do with our Premium Character and the Characters that should be – Future Bart, his ex wife Jenda – have no Tasks there! EA’s lack of continuity and proof of how L-EA-Z-Y they are! 🙄

  4. The presidential kids – was hoping to buy more but not in store. Any news?

Do you think they might have Obama as character soon ? Just cause of comments in game.
