Black History Month Prize Guide: Act 2, Prizes 1-2 Carl’s Animated Job and the Crowd of Presidential Kids

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s update time in Springfield!  And after 8 years of TSTO, we’re finally tackling Black History Month!  No time like the present for EA, huh?   What’s in store for us this time?  Well, we’re tasked with finding out the history of Dr. Hibbert, Carl, Lou, and the Simpson Family!  Loads of dialogue with this one, so be sure to read along to see what happens! And of course, I’ll be posting it as each week wraps up.

Black History Month (Heroes of Springfield) follows the same event structure of the Multi-Events before it.  This event consists of 4 parts (or Acts), with each part lasting a week and taking us through a new part of the event!

For Act 2 we’re tasked with collecting hard hats!  Each part of the story will unlock another prize themed for the second part of the story, Carl’s history with his Dad!

So let’s take a look at prizes 1 and 2 Black History Prize track…Carl’s spend time with dad task and the crowd of presidential kids…

First up, Carl’s spend time with dad task…

How You Unlock it:
Fair-Weather Father Pt. 1
Make Carl Tell His Father’s Story- 4hrs
Collect Hard Hats- x350.

Once achieved you’ll unlock the task…

Other Details:
Item:
Carl’s Spend Time with Dad task

What Does It Do?: Animated 8hr task for Carl.  When on it he has a picnic for two…except the other one never shows. 🙁

WDTCF: “The Seemingly Never-Ending Story” S17, E13

Note: It looks like there was an error on the information EA provided us.  The packet they sent indicated that Carl’s Dad Caverns came with this task (if you did not own it already).  However, in actual gameplay, this does not seem to be the case.

Next up, prize 2, the Crowd of Presidential Kids…

How You Unlock it:
Fair-Weather Father Pt. 2
Make Bart Reluctantly Stick Around for Carl’s Flashback- 4hrs
Collect Hard Hats- x300

Once achieved you’ll unlock the Crowd of Presidential Kids…

Other Details:
Item:
Crowd of Presidential Kids
Size: 3×3
Earns: Nothing,, just a decoration
Conform-O-Meter:
Vanity +100
Can Be Placed: grass|pavement|boardwalk|pier|dirt
What Does it Do?:
When tapped the kids change formation…like other crowds in Springfield.
Other Info: You will not be given the opportunity to buy more crowds once you unlock these guys.  (at least not as of now)  It’s a one and done situation with this group…sorry guys!

Here’s a look at the various formations:

And that’s it my friends, the details of the first 2 Black History Act 2 prizes in TSTO!

Up next? Opal!

Thoughts on week 2?  How are you doing with the prize track? Plans for the prizes?  Sound off below!

They seemed to have really upped the grind on this event, I’ve been playing, practically, since launch and found the only way I had time to complete the whole event was by leaving the last task in each act incomplete to take advantage of the game allowing you to complete active tasks after the events close. Also found this act particularly odd as I have had Carl’s Dad’s Cavern since 2016, which is clearly meant to be the location of the act but all the tasks occurred at the Rigelian Construction Site! Still love the game but hope they do another minigame based event soonest.

  2. So disappointing. I’ve been tapping at least three times a day and just today finished the last prize from the first set. Plus, all day today Ive been setting up my ppl up on the event tasks only to log back in to find that some how they weren’t set to the event tasks. And like every other event lately, its boring! An event should be more than just “set X number of characters to the same job at the same buiding.” Not. Happy.

  3. I just got Opal a few hours ago so its good knowing that I’m on track with the calendar. I prefer Carl’s task to Martin’s task since Carl only has 2 other animations plus its 8 hours which Carl doesn’t really have a decent 8 hour task. I like that he’s outside the caverns when he does the task even though it makes me sad for Carl. EA should give everyone who doesn’t have the caverns with the task since it actually looks better there than at the Brown House. I was somewhat surprised that you can only have one of the Crowd of Presidential Kids but how Lewis and Janeys do you want to see. I found a place for the kids outside the White House0

  4. Some information concerning Part 3…
Once you release the character Opal (in Fair-Weather Father Pt. 3) a separate side-quest involving Lindsey Naegle, called “Starlight”, should also be triggered, however it may not trigger, or it may not work correctly.
Don’t worry, this won’t affect your progress in the main Fair-Weather questline, but it may cause you some confusion, and in two different ways.

    The problem:
    1. Lindsey Naegle is only available after you release the Marketing Agency tower in Springfield Heights. If the agency is unreleased, you will remain stuck at Part 1 of the “Starlight” side-quest, waiting until you release the Tower.
    2. Even if you have released the Marketing Agency and have Lindsey in your game, the “Starlight” side-quest may still not be triggered if Lindsey is doing some other task. My “Starlight” side-quest did not trigger until I tapped on Lindsey to complete her “Party at the Yacht Club” task.

    To recap:
    1. If you have not yet unlocked the Marketing Agency in Springfield Heights, the “Starlight” side-quest will linger at Part 1.
    2. If you have unlocked the Marketing Tower with Lindsey, and the side-quest still does not trigger, try finding Lindsey to tap her to complete her current task, so she can start the side-quest.
And again, since this is a side-quest, these problems don’t seem to hinder the main questline.

  5. I’m back on track (even way ahead according to Patric’s calender). Too much donuts tho for rather lame prices, except for the character. A task as a price? Again some crowd, again a 12 donuts worth token…
I like the game too much to quit, but i hope they soon make it somewhat more interesting soon

  6. Carl’s Spends Time with Dad Task – it’s a cool 8 Hour Visual Task … and yeah L-EA-Z-Y should’ve offered up Carl’s Dad’s Cavern if you don’t have it! (I got it back in 2016!) …. but if 1 Animated Character Task is what EA now offers as 1 Event Prize? I say “¡no bueno!” More Grinding, Less Rewarding 🤦🏼‍♂️

Group of Presidential Kids – the concept of a Crowded Group as Decor is getting old (how many variations do we need? do they increase your Bonus %? do we have to keep deleting old Content in order to plop new Content?) More Grinding, Less Rewarding 🤦🏼‍♂️

  7. 475 x2 in one act… *yawn* 😬

  8. Is the new prize week starting Friday like the last one?

  9. Hi Alissa, as I’m still playing catch up, is the animated task outside Carl’s Dads Cavern if you do have it- or does he just do it anywhere? Thanks.

    • Cadbo
To appreciate this 8 Hour Visual Task by Carl, please check the Mystery Box for Carl’s Dad’s Cavern (and spend the sprinkles to get it!) ….. unless you want another Character at the Brown House. 😉

  10. Anyone else getting the Bart screen of death?

  11. what episode is this from?

  12. After eight years, I am still enjoying TSTO.

Black History Month is fun. Humerus dialogue.

    Thank you.
