It’s update time in Springfield! And after 8 years of TSTO, we’re finally tackling Black History Month! No time like the present for EA, huh? What’s in store for us this time? Well, we’re tasked with finding out the history of Dr. Hibbert, Carl, Lou, and the Simpson Family! Loads of dialogue with this one, so be sure to read along to see what happens! And of course, I’ll be posting it as each week wraps up.
Black History Month (Heroes of Springfield) follows the same event structure of the Multi-Events before it. This event consists of 4 parts (or Acts), with each part lasting a week and taking us through a new part of the event!
For Act 2 we’re tasked with collecting hard hats! Each part of the story will unlock another prize themed for the second part of the story, Carl’s history with his Dad!
So let’s take a look at final Act 2 prize, Abraham Simpson I…
Note: Act 2 has a funky end date for the site, it ends on Sunday the 23rd. So I’m posting the prize details for Abraham a bit earlier than I usually would. Don’t stress if you haven’t unlocked him yet…you still have a lot of time. Just trying to make my life a little easier 🙂

Maybe a witch lives here. Or a troll. Or an old man who sits around writing poetry all day! *shrieks* I can hear the river, maybe I can follow it home.

Abraham Simpson I: I’ll explain my idea to myself out loud, just to make sure I got it. I’ll get on top of one of these driftwood logs on the riverbank, kick it into the river, then ride that log like a horsey all the way home. When I get to a place I recognize, I’ll safely stop and get off the speeding river somehow. Here I go!

Abraham Simpson I: I was trying to ride it home. I thought it was the local, but it must be the express.
Virgil Simpson: I’m gonna throw you this rope. Grab onto it!
Abraham Simpson I: Okay. I’m gonna put all my focus on catching the r– Ooh, there’s that butterfly!

Abraham Simpson I: I got it!
Virgil Simpson: I’m gonna pull you in. Do not drop the rope to grab the butterfly.
Abraham Simpson I: Okay, but now that you said it, it’s all I can think about.
Virgil Simpson: Don’t drop that dang rope, boy! If you drown today, I’m gonna give you such a spanking!
Abraham Simpson I: Yes, sir.

Mabel starts
Mabel Simpson: Look who’s home. Where have you two been? And why is Abe all wet?
Abraham Simpson I: I was, uh, out chasing butterflies when I fell in the–
Virgil Simpson: –horse’s water trough! Clumsy little man. Just got a little wet is all. Certainly didn’t risk death, or anything.
Mabel Simpson: Alright, get ready for supper you two.
Abraham Simpson I: Wow, thanks for covering for me, Poppa. If Mommy woulda found out I was by the river, she would’ve spanked me somethin’ awful.
Virgil Simpson: I’m not gonna tell her, son. Because you’re gonna give me all your wheel cakes for a month.
Abraham Simpson I: Awwwww. Is it too late to just drown instead?

I unlocked him today and was disappointed to see his 4 and 8 hour tasks are at the Brown House. I like that he can go to the Deep Dark Woods for his first task but like SB GIBBS said, he should go to Virgil’s Cabin for his 4 and 8 hour tasks as default then the Brown House if VC is stored or not owned. I also wish that EA would change donuts to wheel cakes for his 12 hour task. I was also disappointed to see that all of his questline located at the Brown House. I like his visual tasks but can’t decide which one is better. 🍩👕🌲
On the last task and must say what a bore, no excitement, another younger version of a Simpson, 😴😴😴💤💤💤
It does feel More Grinding Less Rewarding until you obtain Abraham Jedediah Simpson I (his Visual Tasks are fun) …. but I won’t defend EA – when they do it right, they get complimented (when they don’t, they get constructive criticism).
I like that Abraham uses the Deep Dark Woods but why on Earth wouldn’t he have Virgil’s cabin as the default for his 4 and 8 hours tasks? L-EA-ZY!
I appreciate this post being a little early Alissa as I’ll get Abraham later today. As a funny coincidence, I just got Abraham’s namesake, President Lincoln out of the Yearbook mystery box today 😃
Lincoln at his Cabin chopping wood is a great Visual Task …. now I wonder if there is Content in Act 3, or Act 4, that will offer Abraham Jedediah Simpson I a place to Task 🤔 (no defending EA, they earn praise and constructive criticism pending on their efforts).
I only just got him. If EA can make it so that Abe I can use the Deep Dark Woods (a decoration from 3 months ago) then I don’t see why they can’t do the same thing for Virgil’s Cabin (a building from 4 years ago that returns every year for the Christmas events). I just hope Mabel and/or Virgil will have a permanent task at the cabin when they appear. Congrats on getting Lincoln in the yearbook, consider it a late president’s day gift.

It’s kinda funny to see who Bart Simpson takes after (his Great Great Great Grandfather!) as well as where Homer Simpson gets his ❤️ for 🍩’s (mmmmm wheelcakes!) I do ❤️ the Character (not voiced, but he has fun Visual Tasks!), I just wish L-EA-Z-Y would quit relying on the Brown House to send Characters for Tasks (we need more than the Deep Dark Woods as an alternate, which means EA needs to introduce a new Building, or Decor, related to Abe Simpson I). 🤔
I’ve been ready for Act 3, and hoping we get more Content worthwhile vs ….. well you already know. 😂

We’ve had various new Characters with 12 and 24 Hour Visual Tasks (something different, I’m ok with it vs seeing another Character get sent to the Brown House).
When you send the characters from the Unemployment office, they usually go to the “overpay…. something, something” task INSIDE a building or the Brown House…. the game should have an option to send characters to visual or non visual tasks for those that have that option… for all the time slots.. 1hr, 4hr, 8hr, 12, 24…
Yeah , Tappers are stuck locating each Character individually to send them on a Visual Task , which makes the Employment Building used to send a majority of Characters on timed Tasks redundant / a failure (when you have next to 400 Characters ; or more – there has to be a better way to manage Tasks and I’d pay 🍩’s for it).
