It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

First a note…Act 3 starts in about 15 minutes. I had something come up this morning and I wont be able to do a rundown until a little later but there will be one. Thanks for your patience.
The Simpsons are back tonight with an all new episode! What will happen in the new episode tonight?
Black History Month Act 3 hits today. What are your initial thoughts on Act 3? Prizes? Storyline?

If I remember correctly don’t you get the wood chipper after you complete the world’s tallest Redwood?? I know I got it after I completed something. 😜 I took Gil’s deal! Why…why not! This event is meh for me. It’s something but it’s just wash, rinse, repeat. I’m trying to stay optimistic that better is on the way!! ( ok I’m probably delusional but happy thoughts anyway!! Did anyone else notice a new item in the decorations section ; a woodchipper! What a bizarrely random thing to add.
It’s been there for several years. Not really a new item…maybe just featured in your game as “new”
Happy Sunday from the great white north. Its been a while since I posted but I do check in periodically.
I just wanted to say I enjoyed tonights new episode, especially the couch gag and how The Simpsons version of Cats is still monumentally less creepy than the movie lol. Also did anyone else notice that when any one said “Waylon” when talking to Smithers that they would add a “D” to his name and pronounce it as “Waylond”?
So my characters are stuck in a challenge loop. I clear the task, get the Xp and cash. Then the go right back in with out clearing. I hard quit the program and there they are ready to clear the challenge. Same thing happens. So I’ve gained about 10 donuts in short time. But since they are stuck there, I can’t use them anywhere else. I even tried signing on to a different device…same thing.
I’m about to delete and reinstall, maybe after gaming a few more donuts.
Wondering if there,s any other solution, option, experience with this? Btw Apple devices.
Figured tomorrow will be a contact EA day if nothing else.

Fixed it. Had to store the building which freed the characters. I needed some of them free to carry on the quests. Probably should have milked it longer. Oh well.
So my beloved glitch has come to an end. Wiggum was one of the characters trapped in the loop and I had to free him for the event. At least I got a lot out of it before it fixed itself.
I have heard of it but I thought that I would never see it but I hit the cash limit this past week .

Mine was like around 42 billion plus….
If I was reading that right I’ve never seen so much money nor had such money .

The biggest problem is avoiding the temptation of converting “lost” cash into donuts.
Any one else missing their tap turkey? Or am I loosing my mind.
If it’s loose, tighten it up.
I spend so little time in the game (either events or designing) that I really don’t notice the characters. It maybe this or last Thanksgiving I last looked for him. Out of curiosity I decided to check my town. Came across a turkey right away. With the town so big, and so many things to hide behind it can be difficult to find a character. Took a few minutes but I found the big Turkey. You might try sending your characters on short tasks to clear your town.
If you have the Wildlife Sanctuary, you can send Homer on a 3 hour task called “Fight BigClaw” (or tap turkey). Both Homer and BigClaw go to the Wildlife Sanctuary, once they go there you can store and place it to free up Homer and BigClaw.
Decided to speed through and complete all of act 3 with donuts.will then farm to get back the donuts used and give myself a week off from EA’s demanding log in every 4hrs and just briefly log in for daily challenges and to enjoy the bully boss questline and patriarch questline.
Wise move.
You know it seems like the post just became like grandpa says “Bitch bitch bitch”, and don’t get it me wrong there’s a lot to complain about mainly the limit but its been around for what six years seven maybe? I was just thinking how awesome the drawings are especially if you magnify the screen. It’s nice to have something Simpsons to play everyday and new content at that, it’s not nearly as good as the beginning but it’s still new. I’m just saying if E.A reads any of this why would they continue? And I’m sure the outrage will be nutty when they stop, and everyone then will complain about that. I’ve shared my two cents of disappointment, but let’s not forget why we enjoy the game the show and everything Simpsons, so say something good so E.A will want to continue the game… hopefully as long as the show. Cause there’s a difference between constructive criticism and just dumping on them. I say this because I can’t even imagine a day without The Simpsons. Thx much love.
Yep. As I have said before. We are happy that “grandpa” is alive. But let’s be honest…he is in hospice mode. We are visiting a shell of the former self, at best. Everyone knows it.
Same routine. Same outcome. Grandpa is still alive. But are we talking quantity or quality of life here?
Alright! We get Police Sargeant Lou in Act 3 (I wonder if we’ll get his ex girlfriend Charquelle, since we’re dealing with her Daughter?)
We get a new Building to send Characters (Police Station) for Event Currency
We get a Gil Deal (150 🍩’s for this Act’s Premium Character Building Combo that actually is continuity intact)
If you have EVERY Character (14 – includes this Act’s Premium Character Building Combo) then that’s 79 Event Currency every 4 Hours
Yes I rushed thru to obtain Prizes 1,2,3 (eh, 1 and 2 aren’t going to leave you excited, 3 is from ‘Days of Future Future’ Episode – it’s pure L-EA-Z-Y!)

For the first time in years I’m struggling to keep up with the prizeline deadline. Buying the suggested characters does not change the math in how many four hour grinds to win each prize, so I have not done so. I admit I preferred the game when you tried to play the glitch and beat the system, like tapping foyr ghosts before it realized you had collected the allotted three per hour. There was challenge anx gamesmanship. Now I’m a grinder and decorator. Still tapping. gritngile181
This event is a perfect example of what’s wrong with the game the last couple of years.
One thing many long-time players complain about is “the grind.” No one likes having to check in every four hours. It was bad enough when these events were on a seven day per act schedule. So what did EA decide to do this time? Turn it into a nine day per act event. Not only that- EA decided to make it much harder to attain each pride. To be honest- in the old days, I was able to finish an act in about 3-4 days. I could handle a 3-4 day grind. With this event I have to grind for about a week to finish the act. Nope. I’m not doing it.
I decided midway into act one that I wasn’t going to do the grind.
I’ve been playing this game a long time. I have everything (except the things that cost actual money). My XP bonus is astronomical. It’s so high that I don’t even need to farm KEM’s to get a ton of doughnuts every day.
Long story short- I have 9400+ doughnuts. The number keeps going up with very little effort. When there’s no event in progress, I tend to log in only twice a day.
So I’m spending doughnuts to speed through this event. I can’t stand the grind, and I’m fortunate to not have to subject myself to the grind.
My hope is that EA will finally get the message and do something to change the game and give it some new energy. I’m not holding my breath.

Happy Sunday Y’all. I’ve been reading posts but honestly, I’m so bored with this game now I haven’t been commenting. It takes me 3 hours to play. It’s my own choice because I like everyone outdoors doing certain jobs so I don’t use the unemployment office. So I go in do my 4 hour task and collect prizes. I haven’t really played since before this tiresome event.
