Black History Month 2020: Turbo Tappin’ Act 3, In the Lukewarm of the Twilight

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s update time in Springfield!  And after 8 years of TSTO, we’re finally tackling Black History Month!  No time like the present for EA, huh?   What’s in store for us this time?  Well, we’re tasked with finding out the history of Dr. Hibbert, Carl, Lou, and the Simpson Family!  Loads of dialogue with this one, so be sure to read along to see what happens! And of course, I’ll be posting it as each week wraps up.

Black History Month (Heroes of Springfield) follows the same event structure of the Multi-Events before it.  This event consists of 4 parts (or Acts), with each part lasting a week and taking us through a new part of the event!

For Act 3 we’re tasked with collecting Police Badges, as we follow Lou’s story!  Each part of the story will unlock another prize themed for the third part of the story, that time Lou was a hero.  So let’s take a look at the details behind Act 3 and the Turbo Tappin’ Version for In the Lukewarm of the Twilight…

  1. A reminder:
Please note that in Act 3 the task for the third prize, the Cretaceous Park, requires you to collect 375 Police Badges, but it also has three required side tasks:
    1) Place Bully Bus
    2) Make Lou Question Attendees
    3) Make Wiggum Eat Cookies and Punch
So remember to scroll down to locate all three of these needed side tasks, or you will remain stuck at this point.
(And don’t store the Police Station while Wiggum is still doing the side task of eating his cookies and punch!).

  2. Not a fan of this theme at all. Taking far too long to collect things. Am nowhere near the police badges yet and cant see me completing this before the end of the event. Very frustrating.

  3. Keith: This has been happening to me a lot lately, I’ve been managing around 7 trucks a cycle without the Bart screen most of the time any more and I loose some donuts.

Patric : Don’t you have some random crap you can store away? I’m even more limited as my low performance Kindle tablet causes the game to get really laggy when I hit the 10 000 limit!

  4. I’m lurking in the comments waiting for that one player to show up and tell me which building to store to send half my characters to one place & half to another to get max currency when I’m almost done with a task…where you at, helpful person?!

    • Here is the procedure for Act 3, which this time makes use of the Police Station and Kwik-E-Mart(s). (Note: This is a little more complicated than for Act 1 or Act 2, which is why I was reluctant to post).

      —–
Here’s how to create two separate character groups in Act 3, each of which will go to different buildings, either to their (closest) Kwik-E-Mart, or to the Police Station. That way the two groups can be counted towards two different questlines.

This process is helpful when you are currently near the end of a questline. You can send just the minimum number of characters needed to finish a current questline to the closest Kwik-E-Mart, and send the rest of your characters over to the Police Station, where they can then be used for the beginning of the next questline.

Again, this is a little more complicated than before, because
      a) You have to be careful that you don’t accidentally store Wiggum at the wrong time, and
      b) Because you may have more than one Kwik-E-Mart, which might spread characters out a bit.

      Step-by-step instructions:
      1. If you have several Kwik-E-Marts, place one next to your Police Station so that hopefully everyone will go to this one mart, which will make things easier.
      2. Then, store your Police Station, thus assuring that no one will go there for the moment (but first do make sure the Police Station is empty, and also that Wiggum has finished doing any of his sidequests). Again, please make sure the Police Station is empty and that you won’t lose anything by storing Wiggum.
      3. Then send on a quest just the number of characters you need to finish the current questline – they will all go to their nearest Kwik-E-Mart.
      3. Now place your Police Station back in Springfield.
      4. Send the rest of your characters on their quest. They now will all go to the Police Station, not to a Kwik-E-Mart.
      5. After the four hours are up, remember to first tap on the Kwik-E-Mart(s) in your Springfield in order to finish the older questline, and then tap on the Police Station, which will credit the new questline.

  5. Tried to farm rat trucks, Bart screen hit and I lost the lot, no donuts no xp 😞😠😡

    • I can’t farm them because of the item limits. Argh.

    • MangoFusion01 (FKA NicoRox13)

I try not to farm too much, bit when I have to, I only get 5 or 10 at a time for that reason.

    • Keith: This has been happening to me a lot lately, I’ve been managing around 7 trucks a cycle without the Bart screen most of the time any more and I loose some donuts.

Patric : Don’t you have some random crap you can store away? I’m even more limited as my low performance Kindle tablet causes the game to get really laggy when I hit the 10 000 limit!

  6. I decided to push this one through all the way. Have eye surgery tomorrow (Tues) for Cataract and Glaucoma. I wasn’t sure how I would be after and if it would be too much of a strain. Ya’ll have fun now… and will check in later in the week.

    • Michaelk202
Heal up quickly from the cataract surgery (I had one eye done already) …. you did right just getting what you wanted from Act 3 (take the time you need away from TSTO and come back when you feel better)👍🏻

      • Thanks CJ.. I had the left one done in 2014 so I know what to expect. Its the iStints (new glaucoma procedure) that will be interesting.
All went well and recovery is going smoothly.

    • MangoFusion01 (FKA NicoRox13)

Best of luck with the procedure.

I hope you recover fully and quickly.

  7. I just got the angry mob. They really need to change up these events though. Every event is basically the same. Some of the content is pretty repetitive. How many “crowds” do we need? How many skins that we never use?

    • I didn’t care for Act 3’s Prizes , but I did appreciate the Gil Deal (probably the least expensive one we’ve had in a while). I felt this was the best Premium Character Building Combo in this Event so far (you get a Character with a Building they actually use finally and the 8 Hour Visual Task is cool!)

      • I actually am liking the Act 3 prizes. The bully crowd is pretty funny, I have them outside the E4 Championship Arena right now. The Bully Bus will probably go in The Outlands with my other outlandish vehicles. Hyuk. Hyuk. I had previously made an island on the outskirts of Springfield for my prison but my town area has since caught up and it’s now in my entertainment/theme park area, so I’ll move the prison yet again and make it Cretaceous Park and possibly Slimu themed. I’m hoping next week’s Traveling Circus blends well with the Cirque (de puree?) that I got as a token prize during Abe’s in Toyland content update. I think my amusement area is almost as big as the town proper by now.

  8. On a serious note, I understand that many people don’t like this event but does you have to say how much you hate it in every post related to the event. At least if your going to write something negative about it put something nice in the comment as well (not just about the event but anything). This event has its flaws and some strengths (like the return of GGR and the return of some premium characters in the MB) but it doesn’t mean that everyone else has to hate it that much as well. The event ends in 17 days so hopefully something different will take its place or have to wait another week for an update.

On a more positive note, I and many others appreciate all the work that Alissa, Patric and Safi have put into this site for the last 6 years using their own time and money to help out and provide information about TSTO to hundreds of people navigate through the game. Its not just the game but the community that was formed which makes TSTOAddicts a great place to not just talk about the game but other things as well. This is the best TSTO blog there is and a lot of people would be lost in TSTO or just give up on it if TSTOAddicts didn’t exist.

While the prizes this time are not anything spectacular, at least there are 3 items to design with as opposed to 2 in the first 2 acts. While I haven’t hit it yet but get warnings, the item limit is long overdue for an increase.

EA, if you are reading this increase the item limit by several hundred or to 15k to 20k for the players that have hit it and fix the friend actions in all neighbour towns for everyone especially new players that haven’t got all the friend point prizes.

    • I actually took the time to thank EA for the Gil Deal on Facebook / Twitter (hey we get a Premium Character Building Combo that actually has both connected to each other) and did suggest the benefits of increased Item Limits (such as maybe Tappers would buy 🍩’s for new Content).

    • It’s ok to skip an event if you don’t like it or are busy. Heck, I skipped a whole year and didn’t get back to it until last November. No explosions, my characters didn’t complain, my buildings weren’t even dusty, and I didn’t die from TSTO withdrawal.
