Gil’s Latest Gimmick: Details and Should You Buy The Patriarch

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s been a while, but Ol’ Gil is back in Springfield.  Thank goodness, I was starting to miss his gimmicky ways!

Anyway, Gil is back and, as always, he’s got another “deal” for us.   What’s the latest gimmick he’s peddling? Well, last time he offered up God so this time he’s bringing around The Patriarch.  Because if God didn’t sell you The Patriarch will…

So let’s break down the details of this latest offer and determine if this deal is worth the donuts or if you should take a hard pass…

So when you first get into Springfield (well after you’ve launched the event stuff…of course) you’ll see Gil waving his arms around…just begging you to tap on him…

If you tap on him you’ll see…

Gil: Ever since I became a church-goer, things are looking up.
The Patriarch: You can’t just come to the breakfasts after service.  You have to come to the part where you give money to us as well!
Gil: Help Ol’ Gil pay his tithes and get in good with the decons.  Whaddya say?

At which point you’ll see his latest gimmick…

If you refuse…

Gil: I guess Ol’ Gil’s praters won’t be answered this time. *sigh* Amen.

If you accept…

Gil: That’s right!  Cast your bread upon the water, and it will return to you threefold. And it will help the Patriarch buy that helicopter that he’s had his eye on.

Now real quick…if you refuse the offer will go back in the store.  It will be there…

This Deal Ends March 12th (When the event ends)

And now for the part, you’ve all been waiting for…the Should I Buy…

Character:  The Patriarch
Building: Mega Church
Donut Cost: 150 Donuts
Size: 7×12
Earns: $200, 22xp/8hrs
Conform-O-Meter:
Righteousness +10
Can Be Placed: grass|pavement|boardwalk|pier|dirt
WDTCF:  “The Nightmare After Krustmas” S28, E10

This Deal Ends March 12th

Pros
-Comes with a questline
-Earns event currency, and will help for Acts 3 and 4 (and 1 and 2 if you haven’t finished those yet)
-The most reasonably priced Gil deal I’ve seen since the Nerds
-Will use the Mega Church for tasks

Cons
-Not voiced
-A bit of an obscure character in Springfield

Final Thought:
As far as Gil’s “deals” go, this is a good one.  No extra “Gil Tax” added to this one.  I say go for it.  He’s a fun character and he’ll help with the event.  Pick this one up if you haven’t already…and finally say yes to Ol’ Gil!

Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and I already took the deal.  But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Remember, there’s a good chance this may come back in a future Mystery Box.  It’s happened a few times now.  If you buy it there’s a good chance it’ll come back at a much lower price and you’ll be mad about it, if you don’t buy it and want it there’s always a chance it may not come back.  So the gamble is up to you to take…

Here’s a look at the tasks…

  1. I won this character at the christmas event but I can get to star the mission “give the powerfull sermon”.. it doesn’t happear at the options. What can I do?

  2. For Black History Month, this Event is an Epic Fail (from the writing that’s all over the place, to nothing cohesive about the Characters central in each Act, to most of the Prizes not doing it for m). I gave it a generous C- but it’s truly hovering over a D Grade …. unless you’re raiding the Black History Month Mystery Box, it’s not very rewarding.

Sure, EA is giving you the option to spend sprinkles on each Act’s Premium Character Building Combo (and use all Premium Characters during each Act to obtain more Event Currency – a bonus if you’re actually Grinding thru this Event and are using it to your advantage).

I called this my favourite, but I already have the 🍩’s to get it (in the past , this would’ve been an Event Prize). It’s still my favourite compared to the Event Prizes, or the other Premiums, but as a Gil Deal is it any worse than Sarah Wiggum with the Springfield Aquarium? (that was 300 🍩’s for a non voiced Character with nothing connected to the Building she came with!)

I had fun with his Tasks vs attempting to Grind, or spend 🍩’s to expedite (his Visual Tasks are great), but I have to utilize my constructive criticism and say if the Prizes continue to suck next week? I’d just as soon not Grind, nor spend 🍩’s to expedite. I can stop and wait for something better (increased Item Limits is essential going forward with this Game App, it’s something as a business model EA needs to consider).

  3. I wasn’t going to buy it but when I saw that it helped with righteousness I thought I’d try for the increase since I’ve been tagged a few times since the whole neighbor thing started. Sadly I won’t be putting away any walls since I didn’t see any increase in my righteousness stars. I’m still down a half a star, same as before I placed the church. Do I have to complete the quest to get the bonus?

  4. Not a bad buy considering the Mega Church is the only building in this event to have character tasks so far. The Patriarch has some cool looking visuals at the church. The tasks at the church make him slightly better than Stogie and Hibbert’s Father since their buildings just generate income and look pretty. I like seeing the Mega Church’s animation of the doves carrying money. Nice to see Sideshow Bob used for part 5 of The Patriarch’s questline.

    • I enjoyed the Visual Tasks ….. and the series of Tasks you go thru with him are more cohesive than this Event thru each Act.

    • Hmmmm, maybe, after 3 years of tapping daily, I will finally get Sideshow Bob in my Springfield? Or an uncompleted quest line?

  5. I dunno…I feel like the Gil Deal for Moe’s Express was pretty good at the time imo…200 donuts for 2 characters and a decoration calculates around 75 per character and 50 for the deco, which isn’t bad, especially after they added the nice 4.5% onto the Express.

    • I’m saying this in regard to your comment that this was the most reasonable priced Gil Deal since the Nerds

    • If you got everything from the Black History Month Mystery Box, this Premium Character Building Combo felt like the an Event Prize we should’ve gotten already.

  6. MangoFusion01 (FKA NicoRox13)

    I was missing Gil.

Con: not a doppelganger or older / younger version of a character.

Alisa, can you have them add Gil as a playable character?

    • We do need Gil as a playable character. Sadly, because he would be a great addition to the game, I do not think he will ever be added.

  7. Geeeeeez….
Come on EA and Gil……consult Safi’s character bracket battle for LOTS of characters we actually recognize and want!!!! Sheesh!

  8. Not sure why they had Gil peddle this “deal” it’s just another normal 150sprinkles combo everyone expected to be released with a new act……….maybe the writers was bored & wanted to bring Gil out of retirement ?

  9. Did we lose the ability to cash in Krustyland tickets for $$? I click on the Krustyland Entrance and the option no longer exists there.

    • MangoFusion01 (FKA NicoRox13)

I notice that when you get somewhere around 3 billion. Of in game cash, this option disappears.

But if you are at 3 billion, do you really need to exchange tickets for cash?

If you spend down, they will reappear. Try farming krusty burger oil rigs. It’s an instant build so it goes faster.

    • I still have the exchange option. iPhone SE, iOS 12. I just click on the entrance in the right spot and up pops the usual list of options. I usually wait until I have 30,000 tickets from the wanderers and the Krustyland attractions.

Maybe you need to try tapping different parts of the entrance?

  10. Ehh, yeah decent price, but really not a particularly interesting building or character… Basically just💩nauseating religion overload for agnostic/ spiritualists☯️

    …Esp w/no friggin item limit increases🔚

    • Agreed, surely they could have had a separate “Gil” deal. However this is the way with EA now I’m afraid… LAZY.
Still at least for 150 donuts it’s worth having to help with the event if nothing else.
